The tine axel on my Ariens Rocket V is wobbly and leaking. Found seals destroyed and 8 plastic shims in hub. I’ll start with one shim at a time to check for tine axel fit, adding more if it’s too tight. Your instruction made this clear to me how this process works. Thanks. Steve, Plymouth, MA

I found an easier way to get the seal in. I used the tine assembly without the key in it to press the seal almost all the way. Then tapped it in the rest of the way with pvc pipe and a hammer. It went in much easier. Thanks for the video. They were very enlightening!

Personally, I like the Sunrise Red better, It seams to come out of the can better. Once I used the Tractor Supply IH over the Sunrise Red and what a mess, blistered like crazy!!
Loved your videos, been very helpful and can't wait to see the whole machine completed, Keep up the good work

Seriously...a three foot pipe is overkill😂
Seal drivers can be made from anything but deep well sockets work well sometimes. Pipe is another, but three foot is not usually necessary 😜

You need a bench dog for your workbench. Its a woodworkers tool, but it gives you an extra set of hands.

I like the sunrise red also on this project. I am very please with this rustoleum paint. It covers very well the first time and makes me wonder if I even need a second coat, but it gets one anyway. Getting even closer today to the finished project, only three or four more parts to paint then bolt it all back together. The engine will most likely go back like it is since it looks like a pain to clean and paint like I would like it, I am running out of time and have other projecs to get started.

What axle seals did you use to substitute the original ones

Sorry for the delay in responce. I got my parts from Super X Power . com They have parts break down drawing that help alot too.
They are really good to work with and their prices are reasonable. The serial number should be on the right hand side of the transmission (facing forward from the operating position). There should be a flat machined spot with a number stamped into it.
I am glad these videos are of use to you and I will help out if I can.

Hi Friend, As far as gaskets go; Do you have any problem with using the silicone gasket stuff, rather than putting a paper type gasket on and then some sealer?

Looking at the caps on the cans the IH red looks a little darker than the sunrise. I have a lot painted now using the sunrise and it is looking pretty good to me anyway.

FYI Those came through the factory with IH red, but there is no difference between HI red and Sunrise red

Hi there what is the name of the site you are using to get your instructions for your repair work? I have the same tiller and need to replace the rear tine shaft and seals the shaft is so worn it leaks still with new seals. That site would help a lot doing the work on it and more in the future. I did some looking on the internet for the part and parts diagram to no such luck hope they still make it. My model number is 223447 stamped in on the tiller gear box maybe you know of a site to get parts.
