Fantastic video. Great commentary, beautifully presented, atmospheric music. This shows the skills needed and the difficulty of finding these birds and then you present top quality video and stills. You clearly have impressive wildlife and photography skills. Fab little birds too, I’ve only ever seen one at a nest site on a visit to Poland but these shots are great, so exciting. Why is this not one of the top bird photography channels? So many rubbish, semi articulate vlogs on line with 1000s of subs. This is one of the best.
Hi Roger - thank you so much for the kind words! Means a ton! Pygmy owls are so incredibly awesome : ) I wish I did have more of a following on UA-cam, but man it takes a lot of effort to get noticed. I'll keep working on it! Thanks again.
Great work Michael, I’ve only photographed Pygmy owls in Cuba but spend about 3 months a year photographing & filming a Little Owl 🦉 family in the UK 🇬🇧....wonderful birds with so much attitude & character - keep up the great work I’m sure subscribers will follow! 👍
Thank you so much Andy. and so sorry for the late reply! I've been traveling. Thank you so much I appreciate it! Wow sounds amazing with the Little Owl family in the UK. I photographed some in Richmond Park in London a few years ago - awesome little birds! Is there somewhere I can see the videos of the owl family?
Love these owls. They are for sure a fierce killing machine. I watched one kill a dove in my backyard. What a battle that was. Made for some nice images also. You have some great images here. Thanks for sharing them. Look forward to more of your videos.🙂
Thank you very much Terry! Wow that sounds like it must been a very cool and intense scene to witness! Have you shared those images anywhere? I'd love to see them!
Michael Aagaard Wildlife Photography -Hello Michael. If you are familiar with the forum, Photography-on-The-Net, I do have a photo there in my gallery on page two of it. My user name their is Kt29. If not, I could send you a couple of photos via e-mail. I’m really not into Social Media very much. There seems to be a real shortage of North American wildlife vloggers, especially good ones like yours.
Really incredible shots with a nice background. I could capture my first Pygmy ever two weeks ago and I can confirm... they are really cute. Especially when they do this "Devilish Look" if you know what I mean. :D To my surprise they are not that shy, but very hard to spot. Without the call it's kinda impossible to locate them.
Nice video and great shots! We don’t get pygmy owls in the UK, the little owl is our smallest at about 8 inches long, so these guys must really look tiny.
Great video showing how difficult it often is getting a good picture of your subject. The landscape is much like the one I have back home and finding a good spot can sometimes be a pain :-)
Thank you very much Mik! It can be so frustrating and difficult at times, but I guess that's part of what makes it so thrilling and awesome when it finally happens! :)
Awesome. I was out looking for Pygmies today and got skunked, so this is cool.

Thank you very much Brad! That truly means so much to me. I'll be posting a new video early next week about Long-Eared Owls :)
Great video, enjoyed watching your adventure. The places we go as photographers to find nature & wildlife are pretty awesome. 😊
