My wife and I have made 3 Crossings on the Queen Mary 2. Your video truly captured the essence and feel of this great ship. Your video also is the most professional of any I have seen. I think one has to travel on the QM2 to understand the "personality" of the ship on a Crossing with its embracement of British tradition, civility and formality. We also have found the other passengers to be extremely interesting. It is also hard to explain the impact of her wonderful promenade deck. You are absolutely correct that there are more luxurious ships that offer over the top service. Just a minor note, the QM2 has 4 propulsion pods, not 2. Two of these are fixed and 2 can swivel making a rudder unnecessary. Thank you for the wonderful video tour, it brings back such wonderful memories.
Thank you very much for your kind comment Harold Alex!
Brilliant. Well constructed and beautifully shot. Calming and very informative. I would just like to mention however this is one person's opinion of a very short journey and the word 'luxury' means different things to different people. Again, I have seen reports that say the food and its presentation are excellent and they enjoy the ship's 'old world' atmosphere. We can only make up our own minds when we sail on her, which we are doing for a roundtrip transatlantic voyage in August of this year.
Your video is one of the most comprehensive and professional "on ship" tours that I have viewed. Thank you. If I had any constructive criticism I would have liked to have seen more of the cabin interiors from the Grill and Princess suites to compare with the Britannia suites. Also the dining areas from the Grill rooms and the food offered there. Also, a quick overview of the actual night time entertainment along with the dress standards of the passengers. In any event, I appreciate the time and trouble you have gone to to give us your view on the most beautiful liner in the world.
Too beautiful 🤞🏾

Wonderful video ! Thank you very much
“The service was efficient but not very personal at all.”
*that’s definitely in the ‘pro’ column for me*
I absolutely loved this, thank you so much x
Enjoyed the walk-around. Showed the ship at its best.
Thank you Stephen Payne!
Wow so nice i enjoy walking around❤️
We are booked on a 2023 Atlantic crossing. Enjoyed the Brittania Club deck 13 cabin tour. That is where we are staying. Wonder video tour. It looks like the food options, although many, are not what one expects from Cunard. That is disappointing, but we will make do. Thank you for the video tour.
Thank you for your comment. At the end the Atlantic crossing in my opinion is more about a once in a lifetime experience. I reviewed the Queen Mary 2 on a three days cruise to see if it meets our standards and expectations for a Transatlantic crossing. Unfortunately we experienced a very poor level of cleanliness, quality & service. Upon arrival our stateroom appeared in a very worn condition with worn bed linens that I asked to be changed, a dirty balcony and a very loud air conditioning not working properly. There were broken tiles in the pool, broken glass in the jacuzzi & the ship was in a quite dirty and worn condition. Overall we enjoyed the Queen Mary 2 rather as the last ocean liner in the world than as a luxury cruise ship. However, with the Britannia Club cabin on deck 13 you made the right choice at the best price-performance-ratio. I wish you a safe and pleasant trip on board!
After watching at least 20 videos about the Queen Mary 2, I’d like to point out that this was the most critical of the food. Everyone should keep in mind the fact that opinions about food are just that - opinions. The vast majority of the other videos were highly complimentary of the food. We all must decide for ourselves.
Excellent video. I watched it twice.
I am a war baby born in Brighton, UK in 1945 to a Canadian soldier and his English bride. In August 1946 they were shipping the war brides and their children to Canada (the troops came on separate ships). Mom and I came over on the original Queen Mary, arriving in Halifax. I still have the original immigration card with the Queen Mary listed on it.
I have considered taking the QM2 for sentimental reasons. But as you said, it hardly compares to the newer cruise liners. One thing that struck me in your video was the food offerings. You would think with the fares they charge they could do much better. There are several channels on UA-cam dedicated to filming and reviewing the food on cruise ships. From what I saw in your video, QM2 was sadly lacking in the culinary department. I think on my next trip to Europe I will stick to the plane.
I’ve sailed on QM2 and QE would call Cunard a premium line; QM2 too big to be luxury. However, in fairness, you should travel in the Grills to compare Cunard luxury vs other Luxury smaller ships. Britannia Club is like economy premium, Princess Grill like Business Class, and Queens Grill First Class.
I’d like to see your review of Queens Grill as a “luxury” standard.
Thanks so much!
Excellent review! It looked as though the ship was almost completely devoid of passengers, as was reflected in the amount of food in the buffets. I also wasn't thrilled to see everyone running around wearing masks, I'm done with that.
Great video! We are booked for August in a Club balcony. Did not realize the huge difference in the deck 13 cabins until seeing your video! One question though... Are you able to walk from the cabin area on deck 13 out to the Lookout/top deck? thank you!
4:33 I think there might be an honest mistake there. Queen Mary 2 is indeed 72 meters tall, but if you subtract 45 meters, that leaves the Eiffel Tower 27 meters tall lol. The Eiffel Tower is actually 300 meters tall. I think you meant that the Queen Mary 2 is 45 meters longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall :)
Thank you for your comment Alex the Historian and watching my review. Yes, you are definitely right. Thanks for your corrective statement.
Great video 👌 but looking at them dining rooms and cabins they remind me off a renovated pub down the rd 🤔 nothing fancy like the cruise ships off the old days and that it was all about big grand and flashy a real treat if it didn't sink tho
We bless the Lord for creating man in his image..
Booked April 2023 for a Westbound Transatlantic in a sheltered balcony cabin
It's unfortunate that your trip was in 2022... the crew they hired at that time was certainly not up to snuff. Like most of the travel industry Cunard experienced difficulty in re-staffing their vessel with talented people, often just hiring rather inexperienced or poor-performing crew. I saw this to be especially true when it came to food service and cleaning crew. The good news is that crew changes over rather continually and that on a more recent trip (2 months ago) things were getting better. The interiors are also receiving some work, and we expect a dry dock to occur soon to perform some very much needed painting, interiors updating, and systems upgrades. I would not recommend Britannia Club to anyone though, it may seem like an upgrade but other than a glass door on the shower there is not much difference than regular Britannia now that open seating is available in the Britannia dining room. Princess Grill and Queens Grill are certainly where the true luxury on the ship exists.
Good job you only had to eat onboard for 3 days!!!
is it my imagination - is this ship nearly empty?
Looks like a maskerade ball.
In my opinion they missed the mark with the QM2. Her decor is a bit off but it matches what modern Americans think is luxury. Unfortunately the grand days of ocean travel are gone and won't be back. When I took a cruise on the QE2 in '96 one of the deck stewards acted like it was an imposition to go down a couple decks to get the beverage I wanted. I doubt I'll ever go on the QM2. It seems it's more for those who would peruse the food court at a local mall.
what's your real name, Mr. Grump. John Doe doesn't work. See my post above for my ship-board experience beginning with SS Andre Doria in January 1956. While no ship today could possibly resemble the luxury of yesteryear, name me anything today that does. That said, QM2 is a splendid way to come very close to pre-WWII luxury travel.
Queen Mary..di bilang kapal bekas Titanic ....pitnah yang keji...menghancurkan usaha orang yang tak bersalah....
Totally misleading video. Travel in the Queen’s Grill - it's way above everything you see here. Its like dining at Wiltons or The Savoy every day.
Very good video shame about the spelling.
Siapa yang merekayasa Vidio ini.....?itu namanya pengrusakan..kepada perusahaan orang yang tak bersalah.....!!!Perusak dunia....terbukti di Vidio Vidio .Strategi...akal akalan.............
The ship is getting old and boring. Just came back from 16 days Cunard. It degraded a lot. food quality and quantity BAD. especially at the Lido. Super short handed. It is at the Carnival cruise style. No dance host, no queens room Hostess, no professional dancer exhibition, etc. will not recommend for this price ( we are diamond on Cunard, not a newbie)
How many videos have you posted this same comment on? I've seen it thrice already.
