The bezel on my new PADI Turtle doesn't line up 100%, but hell, that's the quirky thing about our beloved Seikos, they're perfectly imperfect! No problem for me! 😎😜
I own this Padi Turtle 🐢 as well. My chapter ring is slightly off as well, but not enough to make a fuss about. My bezel is like yours a little stiff to turn but in time loosens a little. As far as the bracelet sizing with pin and collar system to me is much easier than I thought it would be . I’ve sized three watches with the pin and collar system and very easy to me . Great review on this awesome watch 😀👍🏻

Got a turtle Padi srpa21 from macy’s when they had a sale $330. No misalignment issues and around -3 to -5 seconds off for 1 week when i synced it with iphone ( i know it’s not scientific). The sunburst dial is “wow”.
Just for your info, I imported an Asian market Batman turtle into the UK from the Philippines and the alignment was off. I didn't expect it to have a warranty due to being grey market, but to my surprise Seiko UK were happy to realign the chapter ring under warranty, and they also replaced the case as they weren't able to get the rotating bezel to click bang on the 12 o'clock position. It took a few weeks to return, but I'm so glad I done it as it was spoiling the enjoyment of the watch.
No there wasn't any dust, and to my knowledge the only thing that was replaced was the case on mine, as they said there was a machining fault on it causing the bezel not to click bang on the 12 o'clock position. TBH, other than the fact it took almost 6 weeks to return, I was more than happy with the repair.

Hot soapy water can loosen the Bezel.Just soak in a glass for twenty minutes. One would think that after all these years and millions and millions of watches Seiko would pay a little more attention to the details.Especially since they are Iso Certified. Their certification would slam them on these issues. Again love your video's. Love Seiko's.
Just got the Padi. It's so different and coop looking. Time keeping is also solid. Mine has lost 3-4 seconds and all at night time when the watch is not worn. I have a grand seiko 9S85 high beat movement and that watch also loses 1-2 seconds a night. I think seiko makes some awesome movements across all ranges

Rotate the lunette full circle once more, it must seat better than that. I have OD for this stuff and mine has slight offset every other rotation - maybe the ratcheting mechanism has uneven number of teeth.
The bezels are the same. I have a turtle and the bezel moves softly and easy. Some watches that have been sitting in the box for a while get hard to turn bezels. Even then when they get wet they move easier. The only difference between both watches is cosmetic and the magnifier
This one is an old video but still, I truly couldn't understand why the misaligned chapter ring was addressed as a permanent problem that would kill the value of the watch, am I missing something? For a watchmaker, is it harder to correct the chapter ring then resizing the bracelet of the watch?
Sir, The Professional Association Of Diving Instructors is known and pronounced "PADDY" . Not P.A.D.I. pronounced as each letter as you do several times. Just FYI. Great videos , love the camera work and documentary style.

This one is not marked as such, it's an overseas made for the Spanish speaking market (the PADI Turtle, not the Zimbe) So it may be cased in Singapore, Malaysia or Even Thailand. The Movement is Japanese. Some for the China market I have seen marked as "MADE IN JAPAN" on the dial at the bottom. I believe those are more desirable for collectors;) So that's good if you get that version! Also there may be a fully Japanese JDM model with the Kanji day wheel but i have not seen that one yet to be honest;) Let me know how it is when you get it! cheers, thanks for watching

Seiko....GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!! FIX YOUR CHAPTER RING ALIGNMENT!! UN-ACCEPTABLE YEAR AFTER YEAR!! The first thing this guy looks for opening the box is how F cked up is the chapter ring....then is totally disappointed. Fix it.
The zimbe turtle is phenomenal. I don't like the padi version at all... it's a very very ugly watch for me- the colors and lettering kill the retro vibe of the watch so much. For me the best version is the gold one (srp775)- it just screams history, vintage, retro and this watch is supposed to be retro.
automatic are old technology, I don't know why these guys are crazy for it. it always run out and your have to wear it every time. I prefer solar quartz it is new technology and dead accurate. I having it for pass 8 years, no problem with it.
Not on the pillow out of the box. Chapter ring is off as expected. Bezel to stiff to use for divers. Really? Need to change to sapphire to fix alignment. Come on Seiko. Do you even care? Watch fans, don't accept this crap anymore. Return all watches that are not aligned, or they will keep producing crap.
