Too many people have tried to compare the shirt to Becky Lynch after getting potatoed by Nia Jax. Not similar whatsoever. Becky Lynch's shirt was stylised with her face covered in blood and her smiling. Her face was also white with the blood bright red and her hair orange, so it looked like art. Britt Baker's shirt looks like a genuine selfie of someone who's been battered by their boyfriend.
I have the Becky "Mugshot" shirt. One time I was going for a walk and someone drove past me and screamed, "Yeah, Becky Lynch!" I gave them a thumbs up and it made my day. I don't think many people will have a similar incident with this Britt shirt.

@@troytomes7159 Why would anyone think that? Because like Cornette said, the average person doesn’t know who Britt Baker is and wouldn’t make the connection that this is a wrestling angle. And the pic, itself, is the exact sort you’d expect to see for a domestic violence PSA or news story on the topic. And the gut reaction from a large number of people tells me they’ve seen a bunch of similar photos in a far more terrible context.

Vince McMahon's favorite saying perception is reality. if someone sees the logo. a woman may think aew is a company, that raises awareness about women's abuse. she finds out it's a wrestling company. that could be a bad deal for the company.

Just watch AEW All Access and how Britt is on that show - she's something else. Was obsessed with having Rosa stripped of the title to the point Schiavone told her "you need to let this go."
Then after she dances and cheers when Rosa does get stripped, she tells Schiavone "oh god, i never want to be champion again!" She kills Rosa every single chance she gets, then claims to have PTSD for how the other girls treated her when she was champ.
I used to think Britt was solid, overrated, but solid and I liked her. Then I saw a clip of her getting medical attention after some street fight and she says, "I hope Meltzer gives us 5 Stars." Been out on her ever since
She's a joke now. Thunder Rosa, Jamie Hayter, Dakota Kai, Bayley, Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley are all way better than her.

Shows on the Cooking network have been around longer and most likely have better numbers than AEW. Yet if you put a bunch of their hosts in front of me and told me to name one under threat of gunpoint I could not do it. Just because 700,000 people watch you on TV does not mean you are household names.

Anyone remember Stone Cold's "blood stone" T Shirt? Anyone whos not a wrestling fan definetly said "what the fuck?" when they first saw it. It you didnt know any better he looks like he got the back of this f**king head blown off. Brit's shirt is tame compared to that.

The funny part is that Britt's kayfabe reason for selling the shirt (which Brian verbally eyerolled) is exactly what Cornette did a few years back with the G-Raver mess. Grover was selling shirts with Corny's face on them, and when legal action didn't stop the bootlegging Cornette bought the T-shirt design off the artist who made it (and was never paid by Grover for it) and sold his own "F*** Cornette" T-shirts to cut into his profits.

This takes me back to 2020 pandemic era, where she became a made woman (in AEW at least) after getting color the hard way against Hikaru Shida and finished the match. I live in one of the most populated cities in Texas, if not the entire United States. I go to malls, department stores, concerts, restaurants, and downtown all the time. Since the inception of AEW 4 years ago, I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen a person wearing AEW apparel.

@@johnnygrind77 Perry was so good. Honestly he had every tool to be a main event guy. In ring skills, he was alright enough on the mic (Better than future WWE champs Roman Reigns, Jinder Mahal and Daniel Bryan) and he was a jacked monster who could wrestle so many different styles.
Should've been way bigger. WWE and WCW dropped the ball on him. Dude was over when he turned face on Raven. As well as when he had the Moppy deal. Dude turned a punishment gimmick into something that got him over as an endearing loose canon babyface.
But lmao the Britt Baker "DENTIST" idea is hilarious. I mean she already stole his finish and just combined it with the Mandible Claw. Maybe she'll shave her head bald, get a tan and carry around an inanimate object as her friend.
Now that Perry is clean and sober and has been clean and sober for a while, I think AEW should bring him in as a producer, commentator or manager. He can talk fairly well. He's actually pretty articulate and well spoken as seen in his WCW promos when he was a face.

Shouldn't be too surprised about her. Kayfabe or not, she once asked what a Mussolini is. Didn't look at her - or her gimmick - the same way after that incident.
I heard all the complicated reasons why people didn't like the shirt, but im my case it's pretty simple, I just think it's a rotten looking shirt. I wouldn't wear it anywhere if I got my hands on it for some reason.
Imagine the awkward conversations that it would spark too. Someone goes up to me for smal talk and asks "who's the girl in picture?" And I go "Oh, it's a wrestler who accidentally got her face caved in on live television and seems very proud of it."

For me, it’s the people DEFENDING the shirt. Let’s stick with the core issue. It was a bad idea. I first saw the picture on Twitter with Saraya’s mother using it for her profile pic. When I saw it, I knew it wasn’t her but couldn’t figure out who it was. I saw an clip of Saraya, Toni Storm, and Ruby Soho doing a promo with each wearing the shirt. So, I thought it was like Greg Valentine’s “I Broke Wahoo’s Leg” shirt, which is a great move. They’re getting the crowd against them and getting sympathy for herby flaunting the picture, which makes the crowd interested in the feud.
When they put it up for sale WITH ZERO CONTEXT, I knew this wasn’t going to go well and it didn’t. I saw the domestic violence take and agreed. However, there were fans who thought the NO ONE would make the association. Mind you, that’s the arrogant nature people tend to have where they believe everyone agrees with them. Yet, they can’t fathom that someone would see how their opinion is fact.
Tony needs to learn some skills from Vince: You’re Fired!!!!- Best skill he can learn.. fire those reckless wrestlers that keep injuring their top tier talent. Jabroni
