Funniest thing: Had no idea this album was out until I finally said 'Enough! I am losing weight God damn it!' Just finally started putting a playlist together on Spotify to shred fat to, figured 'Ya know what, lemme put some Klok on it.' and as if to REWARD ME for finally doing something, there's Dethalbum IV, staring me right in the face.
This automatically became one of my most anticipated albums of the summer once it got announced, and I will stay up until midnight to hear it. DETHKLOK IS BACK, AND THIS IS NOT A FUCKING DRILL
Absolutely agree that this is Brendon' s best vocal work. I can't wait to hear all that he's learned in his Glaktikon project. But I'm really disappointed in the chair vocals. I can't decide %100 but I think they are synthesized or at best over edited.
@@themetalmeltdownofficial The concert is going the be a fun mix of people! I was fortunate enough to get tickets for the Toronto venue as I think was a very hot set of tickets.
I can see this be my AOTY, all of the Dethklok albums were my AOTY for the years they came out. I love Brendon Small. I will stay awake to midnight to listen to the album and watch the movie
@dmphax I am really really enjoying the debut album from Dripping Decay "Festering Grotesqueries". It is the perfect blend of Death Metal and Grindcore. It will literally rip your head off of your shoulders and shit shawn your neck 🤣🤣 But seriously I highly recommend it
TMM< this is great news. I am delighted you have praise for this release. As a long-time fan of Metalocalypse and Dethklok I nice to have new material to look forward to. Also, your hair is looking good, although I miss your long hair, I do think the new growth is coming in nicely.
Ive enjoyed every album so far. I do find myself getting bored by the end of a complete listen of each album, i think a throwing a few songs out and tightening the run time would benefit the albums as they do rehash a lot of similar sounds. Im glad theyre back and refreshing to hear them
Anyone going to review that Dripping Decay album? (I noticed no reviews) I think it flys by with no filler, like the EP had. Give it a whirl when you get a chance for deathgrind bad assery
@@themetalmeltdownofficial if I may ask, what did you find lame about it? Don’t worry I’m not one of those guys that gets up in arms over other peoples opinions lmao. I just find it strange when people can’t seem to get in to these guys. Out of total curiosity, What doesn’t do it for you?
@@connoreidson9217 Its honestly just very paint by numbers groove metal with extra dynamics and electronics. After like 2 songs I knew how every song was going to end, what every riff was going to sound like, etc. Not a huge fan of the clean vocals either.
@@themetalmeltdownofficial that’s fair. Truth be told I love em because metallica was the reason I fell in love with metal at 11 years old so hearing niklas channel James hetfield in his cleans really packs a punch for me. Not to mention his powerful growls. On top of that the production and mixing I find to be stellar and better than many other bands these days. I will half-way agree though I wouldn’t mind it if they chose to branch out a little more dynamically but yeah overall they just take inspiration from a ton of my favorite bands and compile em all in an amazing way imo. I was sort of peripherally aware of Dethklok back in the day as kind of a funny, sort of parody of melodic death metal. I liked the song “Thunderhorse” back then. I know somebody who would be freaking ecstatic about this album coming out. For me, I wouldn’t care too much. Still going to do that Asking Alexandria review on my channel.
Honestly, I'm kind of disappointed tbh. The musicianship is on point as always, but I feel it's really missing the hooks that made the previous 3 Dethalbums so good.
@user-bm1rh1yk6t Nah. Tracks like Awaken, Bloodlines and I Ejaculate Fire were instantly memorable. These songs are missing the memorable hooks and melodies that made the previous Dethalbums stand the test of time.
@OhNyo69 I completely disagree. Bloodbath, Horse of Fire, DEADFACE, etc. all have amazing solos, harmonies, and hooks. This album is packed. 10/10 tbh.
That's the vibe I initially had. But this album has grown on me. Is it better than the first two Dethklok albums? No. But it doesn't need to be. I didn't really have high expectations. It's a solid album. Brendon Small is incapable of making bad music imo
@@metal_monocle7334I just... what? Dethalbum 2 is epic. If Brendon would have been as technical as he was with III and Galaktakon, It would be a freaking masterpiece!
I found the new record to be low key mid. Where's the fun? I'll always be a huge fan of all things Brendon Small but prob won't give this LP another spin.
I would say give it another try. I feel the same way. But it took me a few listens for Dethalbum III to grow on me. So I'm just hoping IV will eventually sink in.
@@timmzzzz88 Good advice but honestly these days I don't have time for another listen. I'm constantly listening to new shizz that comes out and if an LP doesn't grab me by the nads I move on.
