I went to Universal last month and when I rode this ride, I swear I almost jumped out of my seat when the piano scene happened. I don't know why, but it caught me off gaurd.
ooooh my god some of the cat in the hat animatronics look totally normal but others look really creepy in all white with the thin hair drawn on and the tiny black eyes
I was part of the team that built a good portion of the animatronics in this ride! I personally built the structure and mechanics inside the first Thing1 and Thing2 as they are let out of the box. Built in Valencia, California.

I had one of the octopus tentacles fall over on me and fractured my foot, and put a grinder through my knuckle because the safety guard had been removed. I learned what I know about welding there though. I remember the janitor's name was Juan, and Alvaro Villa's phone extension was 23. So, when Alvaro paged Juan, he called out, "Juan, please call extension twenty three. Juan, two three!"

This left just his legs sticking out, waving up and down. I built the internals for the movement of his legs. I know I did other stuff, but it was back in 1996-97 time frame. I just remember it would have been a field day for OSHA if they had ever paid a visit.

+KingRCT3 Yes, they took out most of the spinning from the ride a couple years ago after many many visitor complaints. I believe the kitchen scene is the only with any full rotations now and the rest is just moving back and forth to see things. I think it's an improvement so that little kids can enjoy it, but the closet scene where clothes are flying around seems a little drab without spinning.

I loved this ride when I was 10 and went to Islands of Adventure. I don't get why it's "scary." I actually enjoyed Alien Encounter at Disney that same trip (we went to Islands of Adventure and then to Disney.)

Yeah. Well, the animatronic mouths didn’t move that often. Not exactly like they were back when this ride opened. Some people now think this is creepy, which is why this needs an upgrade
This ride is so scary and boring it really needs a referb the animatronics barley move and look like crap and I think they should make this into something like the great movie ride and change the look of the animatronics the things look creepy and the cat in the hat barley moves and looks awful

I honestly don't think Seuss Landing has much of a place in Universal Studios anymore. So few kids these days ACTUALLY read books anymore; much less Dr Seuss OR to the point where they want to go to a park about it. I think Universal would be better off replacing this with a How To Train Your Dragon, Land Before Time, Shrek, or other kid focused area with more presence of today... Or hell; BRING BACK JAWS.
But I do agree that jaws should return! This can become amity island. Where there can be a copy of the original jaws ride, but with a few 360 screen scenes like in Kong.
And then American Girl Cafe will be closed down as it becomes Chuck E. Cheese Land in 2024 before Chuck E Cheese's the Movie comes out in theaters as I told Universal to make it.
