This is super helpful because I just got my first longboard and I want a skateboard now with larger wheels exactly for the reason you said, to cruise AND do tricks.
imo, long boards are a pain in the ahh for transportation. I have been skating for 10+ years. I skate street and parks, but my first skateboard was a cruiser, and have been on plenty of longboards. Longboards are too big and cumbersome to navigate cracks, bumps, holes, ect. And most longboards dont have kicktails(with the exception of pintails) so as soon as you want to ride off a curb, or ollie up a curb, you're done. And I despise stepping off my board and picking it up, I feel like a moron especially infront of traffic at an intersection.
I'm gonna mention the last part you said first: fuck em lol I felt the same until I realized anyone looking at me weird don't have the balls to even ride a board. Anyways I do agree cuz longboards on flat for long distances can hurt from the weight and obstacles.
So a cruiser is more suitable for you. It's made for that just for cruising around short distances around the city. For longer distances though a longboard is much more comfortable and you have more place to rest your legs on. I own a pennyboard and I can't imagine skating on that small board for anything further than 7 miles, I get ankle pain from it.
@@MrpotatoHead-jb9bdWOAH WOAH Just because he or she can’t ride the masterpiece known as the cruiser doesn’t mean you gotta slander it. But it’s your opinion so hope he gets better at it.
I hope you bought a longboard and i have to ask something i bought a skateboard 4 months ago and i want a cruiser right now but i think its a little bit selfish , in your opinion should i buy a cruiser? and cruiser is too much expensive in my country but i have enough money :"D
@@sugrrwitha lol bro, why would it be selfish to buy what you desire especially if you got the money?... You won't live forever, so yes, you should buy it.
I learn to ride on my first board, a cruiser in like thirty minutes. Have had it for like 6 years. If you were to keep track of miles on a board I’d probably have 50-70 miles on it. I’ve always assumed that you could do a few tricks on it because of the tail, but never learned. I just got a custom trickdeck for actual tricks, it’s like learning how to walk all over again.
@@zatarawood3588 Because in the cities there are trains and buses, you can enter and exit easily with a cruiser, but not with a bicycle. Also, if you need to enter a building, house, or store, you can do so without having to lock the bike outside. If you get together with a group of friends, you can walk with them without having to move a bicycle; you can carry the cruiser in your hand or in your backpack. Also if you have to go on the sidewalk you can, a bicycle has to go on the street or bike path. If you go out partying on a cruiser you won't have any problems with the law, even if you're drunk and drugged hahaha, on a bicycle you'll get fined and they'll also require lights, a bell and other things. The only case where the bike is better is when the distance is too long, you have to get there quickly, or it's raining. A cruiser in the rain is very bad, the bearings and the wood get damaged, the bike is approximately 2 minutes faster per kilometer traveled.
Why do you think it's better than a bike? Bike is hundred times better than any board. Faster, easier to control, less tiring because you are sitting not standing, you have brakes and you can always speed up pedaling depending on your bike and how fit you are. Cruiser is super lightweight and portable though which you can't say about a bike.
My board is like a weird arrowish shaped board and it works like a longboar but i can do decent ollies on them and honestly I've never been able to finf out what exactly it was
Hahahaha thats funny. Doing an ollie wjth a cruiser. Maybe because i always got the huge cruisers, just longboards with a tail kick but a flat and cone shaped flat nose
Looking for something that is good for cruising around the neighborhood with my husky pulling on leash. Not interested in tricks. I'm thinking cruiser for something that can more easily navigate the occasional bump or crappy sidewalk. Not going to do more than a mile or two at a time.
Get a shirt cruiser with a tail and a nose, something like short but a little fatter in the middle with a pointy nose with a little bit of a kick, and big ass medium wheels. That will take you anywhere you need to get
i have to ask something i bought a skateboard 4 months ago and i want a cruiser right now but i think its a little bit selfish , in your opinion should i buy a cruiser? and cruiser is too much expensive in my country but i have enough money :"D
In my opinion, if you have the money and want something to just ride around on, go for it, but if it's too expensive, maybe look into buying cruiser wheels and just switch back and forth.
I hope i'll buy a cruiser as soon as possible and thanks for your opinion but also cruiser wheels are expensive if i try to buy a skateboard and wheels it will be more expensive than a normal cruiser
It depends on what wheels, bearings, ect you choose to buy but it might be easier to spend more so you don't have to switch the wheels everytime you want to cruise because it'll get tedious.
I have a regular skate board but i noticed that i can't do it in the street because my wheels are normal now i want lage ones. Do u know where to find them?
If you have skateboard trucks and big wheels you can use pads. Like that your trucks will be higher and you will avoid wheelbite (when the wheel touch the board when you turn)
For the old guys out there staring to skate again. Just buy what we skated 35 years ago, they are pretty much considered a cruiser. Get a set of soft wheels for the street and some harder wheels for the skate park and all is good.
I like long boards because I'm tall. Skating on regular skateboards feels uncomfortable. Cruisers are as small as I go. I like the portability of the cruiser, but having extra real estate to move around is great on a longboard. Point is, if you can afford it buy them all.
I daily ride a longboard with 100 mm wheels which is great for cruising last year i bought a skateboard and i can ride it but cant do tricks and it feels too slow so i will do the last trick from the video
I've never heard the term doubl kick flip skateboard, i thought it was called a Popsicle skateboard lol either way nice video, im about to go electric longboarding tomorrow 😊
