WOW, just wow. These models look absolutely awesome. Yes, the Gatorclaw, it's alive! Of course, I've put a gator in a scenario because our group lives in Florida and well, Florida Gators, ya know. Hmm, the news about the new armor rules is a bit jarring at first, but very intriguing. Might open the door to some more cool build dynamics.
Gatorclaws, the new Space Sentry, and the X-01 kit. It was mentioned in the livestream Saturday that you can carefully cut the hands off the X-01 arms and use the hands and weapons on the T-45 kit. A resin upgrade sprue with Fallout 4 versions of the weapons in the T-45 kit is also going to be released. It and the plastic T-45 armor (along with Factions and the new gangs) were talked about last year in the ModCon stream. A Weapon Item card for the mortar for the Sentry Bot is well anticipated, because the old sculpt has it, but there's no rules for it. And with the Sentry Bot having the Stable rule, it can fire more than one Big Gun per turn. It can fire both arm weapons or one arm weapon and the mortar and then take a Prepare action for a Standby token and save its other arm weapon for when it's triggered. :)
I wonder if they will leave some of the armor 'baked in' and just adjust points costs accordingly. I think it would be silly to have to have an armor card for every fig
The armor rule change is cool, but I was looking at the Children of Atom cards on the app. It already shows "-" for physical and energy damage, but also says they cannot wear armor, clothes, or power armor. So does that mean they just don't have an armor save? They're health seems significantly higher than other units so I guess that could be the balance? I don't have the old cards to look at.
There is a LOT of news to unpack here! The armour rules are a welcome change and something I've already been doing for a long time in my homebrew version of the rules. It always just makes much more sense that way right? As for the models, the move to plastic for the core sets is a big step in the right direction. However, I'd question the wisdom of having this come along for the Nuka World wave. I'm just very doubtful there is enough interest in the three raider gangs for these to sell well? If it was me I'd of done this during the Fallout 3 wave. I'd have made the rule changes in a new 2.0 relaunch of Wasteland Warfare. A new range of starter sets, Enclave Vs Brotherhood with the T-45 plastics, the X-01 plastics and a plastic sprue of troopers each. If you are making much-needed big changes to the rules and switching to plastic, why not do it with a new starter and with the most popular factions? That aside, on the artistic side of things, I totally agree that this wave's sculpts are tier one right across the wave.
A lot of neat stuff here. Only concern regarding the armor changes is that that they will need to release a card pack with nothing but various types of armor items of every combination possibilities you could think of. Probably similar to the 2d20 rpg armor options as well as mods etc. No point in doing this half ass with only a handful of generic options. If I'm going to field 8 models, I will expect to be able to have 8 different armor load outs.
To be more accurate, kitbashing is when you mix kits using cutting, sculpting, pinning, swapping etc. Just having a bunch of kit options is called loadouts. Like...going back a long time in hobbying and modeling.
Precisely - use the plastic kits for the customization of your resin stuff! There are limited stand-alone weapon kits and bits for FWW, so having spare weapons on-sprue is refreshing
Raiders are my favorite faction so I'm super excited. Aldo curious what factions will be I'm hoping it's something more fast paced I love the game but man can it's hard to squeeze in a session when one game takes so long.
A game of Factions tends to shake out at 45 minutes to an hour, once you know what you're doing. We've seen shorter games, and we've seen longer, but that seems to be the average! Hope you enjoy it :)
Wish they also did those people that sought the ufo in Nuka-world. Damn, those are all excellent drops. Hmm, I understand why they did armor, but it takes a little individuality away from some more meatier humanoids. With the app almost 90% running it is great and easy to make a 700 point army by taking heroic day 1 survivor, piper, gaurd dog meat, eyebot, butcher, free tech, jake finch, sniper and gear up, but the app doesn't give the free items that "come with" different models. Also what do you think of the female sniper being 3 differet models, while the male survivor became "thug" not only in from the og survivors' pack, but in the rpg section too, isn't there a lesser raider that can do a better thug?
Very good questions! We'll have to wait and see, but I imagine if/when they update older units the cards will be free PDFs on the modiphius site like the current ones
Man I'm gonna be able to field an entire Warhammer army of raiders here soon 😂 Really wish we could get a new rule system tbh... I love the core of the gameplay, but the insane amount of symbols to memorize really make it tough to play with others
All's well, just been busy with "real life" work and a few illnesses on the team! But never fear, the livestream train is still rolling and loves of videos in the works!
I’m looking to continue feeding my addiction to miniature games, but what rules books are still valid and which are obsolete? What book or books do I need to play this game? I don’t want to waste money on out of date stuff.
They're all still technically valid, the biggest change is to armour values for cards that come in the expansions. Check out our Nuka World rules update video for all the details!
@@WarGamesNewsRadio what book is the most up to date rulebook or do I need to buy the starter? I got the capital city set, but that’s more of a campaign book, not rules. Your help is appreciated.
I'm not happy with the armor change as if people who only have the starter set won't have any armor item cards to equip their units with. IOW, they need a new starter.
You're not wrong! It will be interesting to see how they "patch" the old stuff when the changes come in. But I agree, we need an updated starter set now more than ever
Really glad to see Oswald. It gives me hope for Jason Bright somewhere in wave 38 😅
Now that would be wicked!
Need a new starter set. Raiders vs survivors would be good

I couldn't finish the ModCon stream after their Factions part. Thank you for the update on Wasteland Warfare. Sounds like awesome needed changes!
Soooo cool minis. I'm so happy to finalely see this X01 pack.
X-01 Armor! Nice! Now if we just had a Sgt. Dornan unit card to terrorize the wastes with....

Glad to see the armor situation gets addressed, but kinda surprised they'd do an overhaul of this scale mid-edition

oh that HD cam is nice
great video, thanks! The models look amazing and straight out fo the game
About the new armor rules, it's a good idea to balance the game. But what about all the previous units cards ? New cards pack to buy ?
Very good questions! We'll have to wait and see, but I imagine if/when they update older units the cards will be free PDFs on the modiphius site like the current ones
Oh this is so cool!!!
Sounds great! I like the raiders
when is the x01 releasing? been looking for them and dont see them on the site
Great question, hopefully at the start of April

When is the potential release date?
The wave is officially launched as of Saturday (only NIRA is available now), with new sets released every month
For me it’s the Eyebot model set. So accessible now and you don’t have to get a box of companions just to get one eyebot
RIGHT?!?!
Hanks for the breakdown. Love the new sentry
It's been a while. I hope all is good

Where are the rules for the power armor?
I need that gator claw
The armor change is strange. So more cards? So many cards
They better be releasing some new card packs if they are making sweeping changes to existing units. Print offs are not my cup of tea

I'm most excited for the robots
Wooooo
Modiphius is going to put this game in an early grave with broken rules and changes.
Eyebots hype!
I fucking dispise nukaworld and everything nuka cola relater
