And he is not getting much flack, I was talking about a video I made awhile back and I was giving him a hard time about it and I told people to leave a comment about telling him to quit... So my fault really but it was more of a joke. And honestly, most of the comments were supportive about it. Like a lot of people who did quit in their life and they explained how good of a decision it was for them. And then there was the more negative comments which always comes here on UA-cam...LOL. And I completely agree with you, we certainly do all have our demons that require patience and encouragement for sure... Thanks for the comment man ✌

Thank you, my wife did an excellent job again. She has made all these videos of this project and I just add a few things. Ben is very chill, not much bothers him... LOL I would not sleep at night knowing a snake like that is around... 🤣 And now every time I look at Ben I am going to picture him with a python head... 😂 ✌

Just found your projects this week, they all look great. You guys make it look so easy and I know that stuff isn't easy. Can I ask what adhesive (glue) you are using for the blocks?

Did you add a drain tile at all? Daylight out the wall? Just curious what your thoughts are on this .Wall looks great!
I did not. I personally believe there is no need for that in most retaining wall installs. The joints in the wall alone allow the water to weep through the wall. The only time I send a drain through the wall is if it is tied into a downspout or some other type of drainage. But the majority of water drainage will naturally happen by going straight down into the sub soils. ✌
Looking good. Got a quick question. Never seen you guys use a block tong or block lifter (or whatever they are called) to individually pick up and place heavy wall blocks. Any reason for that?

Sorry if I missed it. What’s the reason for the 1/8” pitch towards the curve and 1/8” pitch towards back of each block? Water shed/drainage?
The pitch backwards is to create a faux (set back) even though it is a straight vertical wall, setting the block creates a slight lean back of the wall to help with stability and prevent leaning forward in the future. The 1/8 upwards toward the curve helps gain height on the wall with less step ups.

On hollow blocks. Do you core fill all of em as you go up ? What’s your choice on first investment? Dingo skid steer or mini ex ?
Correct, it helps lock all the blocks in place. My 1st investment was the regular size skid steer as seen in this video. It is better to have a machine like that to move stone, dirt and pallets of materials around on a job site. Then you can rent a mini-ex only when you need to excavate. In my opinion, you need the skid steer far more often than a mini-ex. There is even a lot of times you can excavate with a skid steer without the need for a mini-ex.

Project is coming along nicely.... Was wondering if you use any software to give you an idea of how a project will look while in the planning stage, or do you just have it up in the ole brain?
Thank you, I don't use any software... For big projects, I will give a rough sketch on graph paper but it is mainly just in my head. I use pictures of other projects that are similar to the proposed plan to give the customers an idea. Other than that, my customers seem to give me a lot of trust in my vision. I'm very grateful for that! ✌
Have you done any videos on how to price out a paver patio?
I haven't, but I get a lot of comments asking me to. I will one of these days ✌

Why do you glue all your blocks?
Cheap insurance to help prevent shifting of the blocks. Plus it helps seat the blocks that are slightly wobbly... Not all the blocks are exactly the same, they can vary up to an 1/8"... So sometimes the blocks wobble, the glue helps prevent that. ✌

Every camera has their downfalls... these GoPros are excellent for stabilization. The higher end cameras are garbade when it comes to movement, which is something I can't have when filming this work. They get the job done and hopefully better options will come and I will be able to afford them. Until then, this is what I have ✌
