Thanks Russ, I have the DJI 500, think I will get the 1000 now after your testing. It's so quiet I can use it for CPAP in edition to drone battery charging while camping.
Hey, I wanted to say thank you for the time you put into this video! I did end up purchasing the DJI power 1000. But man, I'm sending it back. I ended up with the ecoflow delta 2. The deal-breaker for me was charging from a DC to DC charger while on the road. The Eco Flo is better set up for this situation. As I found out quickly that is most important to me.
I've decided to get the DJI 500 for my car for the fast charging and a Delta 2 the next time they have the certified refurbished for $4XX to keep in my office. Good topic.
Good video, thank you One way around the expanded battery is to connect via the solar input port a regular 24v 50Ah battery for additional capacity. I use a QWW battery or 2S PowerQueen batteries and this expands my operation. Thank you for doing this fair comparison
I don't own a power station, or know much about them. But there seems to be many good ones to choose from. And I do like the looks of the new DJI model. Great video, and thanks for sharing Russ.
Just pick up a DJI 1000 for a few reasons. biggest one all the ports on one side. Using it as a power backup for my wifi and isp modem. Live on the coast of NC and need make sure power doesn't stop to my internet for work especially in storm.
I have the DJI Power 1000, as well as the Honda generator. The DJI is great to bridge a power outage, but it's limited to 1 kWh, and might be used up quickly. In this case, the Honda (which is only limited by the amount of fuel you have at hand) can quickly recharge the DJI at 1200 Watts. So they actually make a perfect pair.
With one of EcoFlow's recent promotions, i got the Delta 2 with their alternator charger for only a $100 more than the DJI 1000, so that was a no brainer for me. It's interesting that DJI doesn't offer a separate fast DC charger for the drone batteries. Great comparison of the features of both the Delta 2 and Power 1000! Competition is a win for the consumer
I bought the 500 for business to charge drones on the go, and it’s phenomenal. While I’m a tech junkie, and love apps, I’m glad DJI didn’t include an app, cause I’m afraid this may have put the power series on the Gov hit list. No connection, no worries.
First time seeing your video, and first time I heard about DJI. Great video and great comparison. I've been a fan of EcoFlow for years and have several of their power banks all first generation and just recently bought 2 Delta 2 units which are fantastic. I do like DJI a lot and seems that it will give EcoFlow a run for its money. I have 2 questions that I would need to know before I ever consider buying DJI. First of course is cost and the second being Customer Support. I know EcoFlow has had issues with Customer Support but they are getting better and eventually will take care of you if you have patience. I just recently had to send two Delta Max 2000 and a River Pro back to them after using them for over 2 years. It is a slow process having to do videos or send pictures of the problems but once they saw the issue they told me I had to replace all 3 of them. They send me 3 shipping labels and I made an appointment with FedEx and they came and picked them up at my house. I was given a choice of waiting longer for repairs or they would replace them immediately with refurbished units. I chose the refurbished units as they hold the same warranty as new. They sent me a brand new unit for the River Pro as a replacement as they had no refurbished units. To make things sweeter, they were kind enough to include an expansion battery for the River Pro for the inconvenience of being without my units at no cost to me. All in all, from the time I spoke with them to the time I received my replacement units took a total time of 3 weeks. So for me EcoFlow stands by their product and I will have to wait and see if DJI does the same. Also for your viewers information. I am glad that I did not purchase expansion batteries because they would have been useless for 3 weeks without the main unit. Thanks for your time and your video, great job!
This is what the Drone Space needs competition! These other manufactures don’t hold a candle to DJI. They have to resort to banning companies in order to compete. If there was any other company that was comparable to DJI, I would’ve switched but we don’t.
great and relevant video, thanks much Russ! is it 100% confirmed there is no way to use an EcoFlow to fast-charge Mavic batteries? initially thought the SDC was an XT60/XT90 adapter at first, but after researching it, it looks to be just slightly different ofc 🤦♂ Prior to the DJI power being released, I've been heavily invested in the EcoFlow system, and would be sooo so nice to be able to fast charge Mavic batteries in a pinch. any solutions you can think of? thanks man!
Thinking about the app segment of this video, I almost wonder if the lack of an app was an intentional choice with the power units due to all the DJI ban stuff going through Congress right now. Thoughts on that Russ?
All these packaged set ups are so applicable for unaware newbies. Been doing this stuff over 40 years. If you cant stack these componenants un an appropiate battery box you need these husslers . 😂😂😂😂
Problem with Ecoflow is if you ever have a problem you have to ship the unit in. I cracked the display screen cover on mine and they want me to ship it in. Just for a replacement front clear cover over the screen. I just want them to ship the part to me so I can avoid unnecessarily shipping my heavy units. It's costly, it's unnecessary, heat damages these units and I have no control over how many days the thing will sit on a hot shipping truck before it gets looked at. I have no idea how many times it will be dropped or bumped. So in my mind, the unit should be shipped in as a last resort, not the very first option. Not when the only problem is a cracked screen cover which would be less than a dollar to put in the mail. So while I am content with Ecoflow, I am rather unsatisfied with the power station industry as a whole. Meanwhile my Honda EU2200i will still fire up on the first pull and I can work on it myself. So advantages...disadvantages...
I just had to send 3 units back to EcoFlow after using them for over 2 years. It was the River Pro and 2 delta max 2000 units. They sent me shipping labels for all 3 units and FedEx came to the house to pick them up and delivered them too and it did not cost me a cent.
That DJI quick charge port for drone batteries … it will degrade the cycle life of the drone battery., Bottom line, you always loose. But do you rather loose the cheap or expensive component ?
My thoughts are that you aren’t going to use it every time you charge the batteries. Only for long missions or if you are away from convenient power. It’s a luxury, rather than a dependency. I agree that the batteries should be charged normally most of the time.
I like the battery backup portable power they are great. But let's be real you can't charge fast enough when using one if you're powering your camper with everything running. Or your house for that matter. That's where gas powered generators will always win over battery backup. If your power goes out from a storm and its out for days a battery backup won't cut it. Don't get me wrong love the battery backup but in the real-world gas generator will always win.
Speaking from the Houston Texas area tonight, it's been 4 days of misery trying to keep my gas power generator "fed" with almost no gas stations operational and the few that were open had lines a mile long with strict limits how much gas you could buy. I started this event with enough fuel on hand for 2 solid days of runtime with my 10K watt gas generator, but it went thru it shockingly fast running a window AC unit 2 box freezers and a fridge. Yet, the sun was shining down on us INTENSLY since Tuesday! I would suggest that for emergency power at least, a gas generator AND a solar power generator with panels might both have a place in your garage. My power finally restored tonight, but it's been a difficult 4 days and over 1 million are still without power with no restoration date yet even.
Well. I guess the government will be coming after DJI generators next. After all, they can be used to recharge DJI drones which are sending highly top secret information like my Sunday school picnic party to the C Coms.
No 12 volt cigarette plug to run my 12v refrigerator and only two ac plugs. Il keep my dela 2. And the dela 3 is a lot better power station. But nice try
power outage nearly kill the cell tower just from panic alone it overload voice hi winds took out main 5 poles snapping line to substation town was out for 8hr local casino they 3 house size LP generators
I can build my own power station but decided not to. Not everyone has time or energy to learn even the basics. For those people who got money, why bother waste their time building a powerstation if they could easily buy one. Not everyone is smart, tough, and got of plenty of time like you bud.
Hi, Russ. I currently have the EcoFlow Delta Max 1600 Watts. I have no issues with my plug ports being on the back and you can plug in more than 2 devices at a time. I can Charge by AC at 1,600 watts and do solar up to 800 watts. Like you said, if you don't have enough solar panels to do 800 Watts it isn't going to matter. The only ports I need to plug or unplug on a regular bases is the USB and USB-C ports. I even get more ports here than you get on the DJI Power Station. Knowing I can plug several different batteries at once with the EcoFlow makes it a huge win! Like you mentioned toward the end of your video having the control from anywhere using the EcoFlow App is great! You might know there is a storm nearby and want to fully charge your power station remotely. I am glad not everything including the ports to run solar or charge AC are all up front. This creates a bit of a clutter where with the DJI you seem to have no choice but charge everything up front. Plus, the solar charging ports are standard to all my solar panels. I enjoy the competition, but it's not like DJI is the only competition to EcoFlow by any means. DJI is new to the game, and probably I think when DJI offers an app as well and looks at ideas to even improve these current power stations it is only going to get better. I am a huge DJI fan, but in the power station world even having a BluEtti PowerStation the EcoFlow just blows it out of the water! Thank you for the video and comparison! I always enjoy seeing new products and new innovations that can make all our lives even better! Sorry, for the long reply!
Ecoflow is better overall ! I won’t regret buying Ecoflow batteries because of the ecosystem ! I love that I can use multiple of my batteries with different ecoFlow appliances like my wave 2
Yes! Eco is the best hands down!!!! I have the delta 2 max with 2 full size batts and lemme tell you it’s a beast and easily still portable…. Eco flows solar panels are some of the best and yes with the alternator box I have it charges it PRONTO! Dji is a gnat that you swat at and smash and laugh….. Eco donkey stomps the dji but when it comes to drones Im a huge dji guy just not in portable power stations
Ecoflow for me, i love DJI and would buy one. But ive used Ecoflow for years and they just work. Well made, good quality, affordable and they update the firmware and apps fairly often. I suppose DJI could easily build an amazing product. But with all thats going on with USA trying to target DJI directly i dont know if the investment will hold.
That sort of thinking, you might as well toss your smartphone in the dumpster. The EcoFlow App is actually a very good app and has a bunch of sweet features giving you all sorts of control over your power station.
Thanks Russ, I have the DJI 500, think I will get the 1000 now after your testing. It's so quiet I can use it for CPAP in edition to drone battery charging while camping.

Thank you! 🙏🏻
I don't own a power station, or know much about them. But there seems to be many good ones to choose from. And I do like the looks of the new DJI model. Great video, and thanks for sharing Russ.
I didn't even know I needed this but now I want a DJI powerbank which proves that you can sell ice to an Eskimo. Great video.
Got the Power 500.
I recommand.
Super portable and just enough for a casual user.
Just pick up a DJI 1000 for a few reasons. biggest one all the ports on one side. Using it as a power backup for my wifi and isp modem. Live on the coast of NC and need make sure power doesn't stop to my internet for work especially in storm.
Great comparison, that cleared a lot for me, thanks!

Russ, thanks for the comparison; my dji 1000 is set to arrive this Thursday
It’s super nice! These are the best 2 units on the market right now I think.
Great information on both units, it will go a long way in helping me make a decision on my next purchase for a back up power system.

Can we get a detailed videos following the progress of the potential DJI ban. Thank you.

how many Mavic 3 batteries it can charge at a full charge
@@droidminingsolutions about 5. Mavic 3 batteries have about 77wh. If the conversion efficiency is good, maybe 6.

appreciate the honest opinions and reviews 😎
Here in uk eco flow cost 600 and dji 900, easy win for eco, thanks for compare them both
Good comparison video Russ

How many air 3 batteries can it charge when out in the field?
Its one thing I really did not like over my Bluetti But I did end up getting a second one (DJI) :)(its on its way)
I think you can also connect battery to dji power from port solar panel
great and relevant video, thanks much Russ! is it 100% confirmed there is no way to use an EcoFlow to fast-charge Mavic batteries? initially thought the SDC was an XT60/XT90 adapter at first, but after researching it, it looks to be just slightly different ofc 🤦♂ Prior to the DJI power being released, I've been heavily invested in the EcoFlow system, and would be sooo so nice to be able to fast charge Mavic batteries in a pinch. any solutions you can think of? thanks man!
Now DJI making portable power stations I really like the sound of
What does the 1000 cost?
Does the app still work if the power is out and there is no WiFi?
No
Hi Russ - Cream of the crop is good
You like that huh?
can you use any solar panel? or do you have to use the DJI solar panels only?
Great job Russ!
Good informational video. Would this also fall under a DJI ban?
No.
Thinking about the app segment of this video, I almost wonder if the lack of an app was an intentional choice with the power units due to all the DJI ban stuff going through Congress right now. Thoughts on that Russ?
Well done.

ECO FLOW DELTA 2MAX is at the time of this video 😮

When you work professionally changing batteries more frequently is not a problem.

.... or Anker F2000
I do need to check that one out.
It's amazing how expensive a vattery with an inverter in a pretty case can be. So stupid for unaware victims ( customers.😂😂😂)
Most of the general public has no desire or knowledge to build their own. 🤷🏻♂️

I think I'll pass on a power supply from a company being banned in America.
