Therefor it is a feature not a bug. That should tell you everything you need to know about what this company thinks of its consumers. Best thing you could do is reply to them by making it clear that their response to player feedback and adamant refusal to fix the game, but rather intentionally design it to be bad, is the sole reason why u ONLY buy proxies - hit them where it hurts - their wallets - and make it clear the reason is due to their unscrupulous bsns tactic/gaslighty af pr team.

@BC Gaming, if TL;DR I apologize in advance but This goes beyond rigged as developers and admins have full access to opponents play at all times. As a azorious control player, I'm only matched up against overlords decks and domain zur. Yesterday I played an admin who deliberately crashed my game during best of 3 standard, and wouldn't even let me sideboard. No matter how many times I would quit as quickly as possible on my latest iPad mini with iOS 18.2 the sideboard screen would not let me pick my sideboard cards. The subsequent games 2 and 3 I had to mulligan 3 times, and even though I managed to come back, this guy literally had quad Leyline Bindings within the first 6 turns for games 2 and 3. Not to mention, the cards I needed such as 4 copies of Sunfall and one copy of Destroy All Enchantments never showed up again for the 2nd and 3rd game as I literally had 15 cards left in my deck. Call it bad luck if you will, but as a developer myself we have hidden tricks we use too but for testing purposes never for live usage. When they start using this for their benefit that's downright cheating. It's also well known that the shuffler mechanic for beginning play with 7 cards is done so that 2 or 3 sets of hands are pre-generated, then one is chosen according to opponents hand for best matchup. Developers can literally choose which selection of hands to give to opponent thus controlling their game from the very start, shuffling away opponents top deck cards at any time, and of course themselves needing the cards they require etc... The whole damn thing is a sham, and you probably know the point system controversy for brawl games when someone accidentally went below some threshold a while back and got a strange warning on their MTG Log-Files. Also how the Ladder matchmaking system is designed to make you lose if you get X consecutive wins and so forth, all of these have been posted and complained about for years now but nothing is done, or you will have folks here who tell you, "...everything is perfect." or "... not enough sample size..." or "... stop whining (insert some insults here and there)..." and so forth. Just take a second to see what's really going on and you too see some fishy stuff going on. It's a shame~ 😔😔
Same thing with mill, you play that and all of a sudden every opponent has 200+ card decks with multiple ways to reshuffle into the deck from being milled. I stopped playing arena all together because I find it very stupid to just get hard countered every single game.
When I play my hare apparent deck I spent a bunch of gold wild cards on, I get decks that root out every copy of my hare apparent from my deck, hand, and graveyard then exiles them. Not entirely sure what you're trying to prove here. We've known for an incredibly long time that the matchmaking in play queue is curated so you'll face similar decks. We've recently had hard proof on how Arena does this in brawl. WotC have said outright that non-ranked formats have curated matchmaking. It's why a lot of people don't play in casual queues. Now, go prove the same thing in ranked queue. That would be an actual revelation, as WotC say they do not touch the matchmaking other than using an MMR pool to select the opponent.
I play ranked all the time and It feels that when you are doing well the game just starts throwing you bad draws, worst pairings etc, yesterday in a match I mulligan 3 times and got 5 lands + 2 unplayable spells in all of them, Im not saying its impossible for this to happen in paper, but in arena its more frequent and at some point you start noticing that there is something wrong.
In ranked, my observation is that, too often for the first few matches, I get paired up with a virtually identical deck even when it is an uncommon deck in the meta at that time.

I’ve made a deck that sort of does that, it’s an Ivy, gleeful spell thief/scute swarm mutate deck so it runs all colors and I do get a general mix of opponents but the predetermined win or loss outcome is still obvious.
There are a couple of UA-camrs that proved Wizards is rigging the matchmaking. They rank each card with a numerical value and the cards with high power rating values are penalized during matchmaking. If you are running rares and mythics in your deck that are considered high power rank then the algorithm will ensure that you end up in the hell queue where all you get are mirror matches, perfect counters or you get mana screwed/flooded. It's definitely a punishment for playing specific cards. I know for a fact if I play monored with Leyline of Resonance I'm never going to win a match. They will deliberately put me against another monored aggro or burn deck, and, if they give me variety, they make sure my opponent gets a perfect opening hand and draws. If I switch out the leylines for something else I will see a brief change in matchmaking and I will start winning again. Basically, the way you trick the algorithm is to change out some of your mythic or rares that have really high value for lower value cards that do something similar or you can switch decks frequently to trick the algorithm. Honestly, I think that's BS to be forced to frequently alter a deck or change decks entirely just to trick the algorithm into actually giving you fair and diverse matches.
When playing 64 card deck with 29 lands I get landscrews at 3-4 lands at turn 7-8 in 50% of matches. When playing deck with 4 Demolition field and 4 Fountainport I get mana screwed in more then 35% of matches. When switching to other decks, made for grinding rank, I get red prowess or red + other color prowess in 7 of 10 matches. If I play my red or red black prowess I got most stupidest hands ever. Whatever deck I play, 95% or more are mulligans to 5 or 4 cards in starting hand. And I started playing arena (with its own idiotic formats WITHOUT modern) 7 weeks ago. At end of 11th month,I got to platinum 3. In December, I spend about 350€ on decks from store, plus some rare and mythic wildcards and boosters, so I had nice collectionand at 14th December, I was mythic rank at 90%. Today is January 13th. I started this season at diamond 4 rank. And I am still diamond 4. Due to that I took 2 measures.... 1) I sent them a mail with this as first sentence : Hi, I started playing this game so you can take my money for providing me game. After I explained my land drops and color screws with same decks that worked ok previous month, and how majority of opponents allways play exactly the deck that performs PERFECTLY against what I play. And I finished with sentence : there will be no money for your decks and wildcards until lands in my deck start to behave exactly as they behave in real life or better. And at 2) I stick to the part which states I stop giving them my money. Ill rather take my money and buy cards from players in my town or from selling stores. Dont know who needs this bs of shuffler and matchmaking, but Ill rather spend this money on anything else then this. Maybe I start learning yugioh or pokemons or something uninterresting game (for me) like that.
I came back to stnadard and to arena for the first time because I was excited about all the changes. I noticed the game was rigged for a while and eventually found the videos proving it is. It is not fun for me at all.and i have a hard time understanding how anyone. Could have fun playing a rigged game. It's too bad because it could have been fun.
Game isn’t so much “rigged” as the matchups try not to give you blowouts back to back so it “tries” to guess your deck win con and place you with someone who’s win con is similar in speed to yours. Which is why if game detects a lower CMC you see much more red aggro and other low to the ground decks. And why when you’re playing a silly combo you see other silly combos. I play best of three though so maybe my data is just skewed haha
This is the case in ranked too, don't have any doubts. I play only ranked games and I have to deal with the same issues all these years. Every time I quit for these same reasons and every time I come back to find out that nothing has changed. There is no true randomness. And how such a thing could have ever existed to be honest. You play an online game. They can do anything they want. They won't ask you. They don't care. But they care for money... So everything is arranged the way it should be. Everything is under control. Everything for your own pleasure and entertainment, dear consumer!!!
This is even worse in Sealed/Draft. It is not only the mathces, but also when you get an openeing hand with all off-color lands/spells, ro getting to a top deck war and you hit 5 lands in a row. But to be fair I0ve also been on the other saide watching my opponent with just three lands and just one spell casted. I feel bad for them.
Playing Squirrels with Heaped Harvest, Witch's Vanity and Feed the Cycle: "Time to face Timmy's first homebrew creature deck, win 6 times in a row, lose the inevitable Bandit's Talent match-up on the way and then win again." Playing Squirrels with Overlord of the Hauntwoods, Cut Down and Go for the Throat: "Oh boy. Exploding mice. Unholy Annex netdecks. 50 shades of Sunfall. Lost 8 times in a row and now I'm somehow facing the dinosaur starter deck. Aaand we're back to exploding mice again..."
What's the dfference between a 250 card and a 60 card deck playing the same combo? - The 250 card will miraculously combo more often than the 60 card deck. 60 card 16 land deck will flood more than 26 land 60 card deck and 26 land 60 card deck will will get mana screw more times than 16 land 60 card deck. Despite this my biggest gripe is once again the 250 card deck with the miracle draw that has the exact answer to what I just played - this game can just fuck off out my life for good and been playing since 1994.
there was one season i played mostly mono black decks and by the end of that ranked season i had over 50% match ups against mono black, when mono red and boros convoke were top of the meta, so the rigging is still happening in ranked contrary to what some people are claiming in the comments
The only thing on Arena that I have somewhat confidence in saying is definitely a case of Pinkertons of the Coast meddling too much is whatever nonsense they do for opening hands, as it can fuck over certain decks. It came up when I was playing a Dragons Approach deck, you specifically do not want one of your two mythic rare dragon cards in your opening hand. But it would happen a suspiciously high number of times, leading me to believe that when you only have like one or two mythics in your deck, it will put one in your opener disproportionately. This conversely would imply that if someone were to run a pitch reanimator deck that has a couple mythics as their reanimation targets, they would disproportionately benefit from this type of hand manipulation.
Why do so many of you think it doesn't matter as long as it's not ranked ? This is Flawed logic. So submissive. Your time and real money does not know the difference if it's ranked or not.
Agreed. There's MILLIONS of players. Just throw me one at random, let us play an honest game, and watch your game and profits flourish. It's that simple.
thanks for your videos, i stopped arena because thats not how magic is intended to be played. Total random match making and shuffling is the norm, and is also done at paper tournaments that way.
well its a known fact the matchmaking is rigged, theyll use a different word and say its "curated" or "arranged". Same thing. A lot of people dont know is that everything is fixed, not just opponents. They dont like random. Just a simple example: If you play a duress and discard card xyz from your opponent, there is about a 45% chance he will draw xyz next turn, naturally. Obv I have no proof other than anecdotal evidence, but I also have no doubts. Dont believe me? just try.
The rigged matchmaking in this game is so obvious. Thank you for raising awareness of the issue. Unfortunately, you were wise to do so on an independent platform such as youtube. Players have been trying to raise awareness of these issues in official mtg forums for a long time and are often met with strict censorship from forum mods and ostracized by wannabe pro players who are just chomping at the bit to show wotc how willing they are to sign the NDA.
Not sure what you're talking about. Magic Arena is JUST like playing at the LGS. When I go to the LGS, establish/understand the meta, craft a deck to beat it, the players at the LGS always switch to decks that mirror mine. (Sarcasm)
Arena intermittently places you in a punishing/victimized group to reinforce your addiction. This is simple psychological behaviorism, people. Don't your victories taste better after a bunch of sour defeats?
I saw the last video as well. I am not saying it is not rigged. But from my experience, as long as I play in Ranked, I play against a variety of decks. I DID notice all these matches were in regular play, which I would assume is more tailored to "rigging" for more casual players or non-meta decks. Players who just want to play magic casually. And I'll also throw in the fact that it is best of 1, which I mainly play. I will not bring up other formats, because you did show the match up differences from deck to deck. Now, I do not play Standard. I play Explorer mainly, so the 60% meta could play a factor. It could just be Arena trolling Aggro players who are just trying to get easy wins in the regular play queue. "You want fast wins, well here you go."
Bull Shit I played all ranked all not ranked single games, best out of 3 its all the same shit. I like to know how players start off with 163 to 300 cards in a 60 card deck format. If it's not rigged how does all this crazy janky shit happening in Arena right now goes on?????? I don't mind to loose but let it be on deck vs deck terms not draw lands for 5 turns straight opponent has 300 cards to play with etc.... I like playing Arena but it really needs work.
@@truckdrivermm If the matchmaker pairs you with 61+ piles, it just means your deck is equally pile-esk. You can just add more cards (I thought it caps at 200?) to your decks, nobody is stopping you, it will only make them inconsistent and thus worse.
This game is so rigged.one of the most basic tenant’s of magic is. that you have a 50/50 chance of going 1st. Not in this game you can consistently go 10 games in a row without going 1st. You will never go 1st 10 times in a row. You will be lucky to go 1st twice in a row. Congrats to new players you made mythic, don’t expect to make it again. For some reason you will consistently make it to platinum level 4 or 3 , then all of a sudden, a combination of mana swamping/starvation begins. On top of your opponent going 1st and coming out on curve no matter how large the deck, good luck. This game is truly rigged.
you didnt have to make a video proving deck based matchmaking exists in play queue. wizards already said as much. first one to prove this happens in ranked besides feeling and suspicion will have a video worth making.
The land manipulation is arenas favourote way to rig. Either draughts or flooding. My buddy drew 7 cards and got 7 lands in a game after drawing 3 lands in 3 turns
@@1who4meto a much lesser extent - rank and hidden MMR is the primary thing here. To prove this use the exact same deck on two accounts and see what matches you get. On play it’s usually the same, on ranked it’s much more varied,
@@snackplaylove I track daily wins and daily losses. So far this season (December 2024) I am 36-34 with 18 different oponet colour types in ranked using 6 different decks, and 17-17 with 13 different opponent decks in play queue using 7 different decks. People who complain about the "rigged" play pattern are to a great extent falling into the emotional bias where they vividly remember the times they had shit happen or bad results, and glossing over the times that they stomped face.
Yea, unranked BO1 has weighted matchamking based on how strong your deck is, this has been known. You queued into the unranked matches with fast comptetative deck, so you're going to play against other fast competative decks.
Yr hidden MMR only updates when you change decks so if you loose 5 in a row, then change the deck (even if you make it worse, or pick a worse deck) your matches tend to get easier which is good for the ego but bad for people who don’t want to play a slot machine
@@snackplaylove my Dino decks average around 38-42% in standard ranked (still fun to play though). The strange thing is that, if I’m sipping beers and am in a particularly masochistic mood and take a whupping for 10-12 games, suddenly the matchmaker takes pity on me and I can’t lose for the next hour or two. Go figure…
It all needs major work and If WOTC doesn't see it then ots a major cash grab. You know that people think well if I buy more cards then Ill have a better chance of making a deck with better win rate. Well if you getting cheated it doesn't matter what deck you have. I can see why people who play paper at the LGS say what they say about Arena.
Had to loose 20 straight games to get on a 2 game winning streak all opponents had decks similar to mine was playing red/white -black/white - black/green decks are a mix of aggro, life gain/ drain
You're like, 4 years late to the party. But it's good that arena newbs are learning. There used to be a giant 2k+ thread complaining about rigging in their bug report section which they just straight up deleted back in 2021. Haven't given a cent to WotC since 2020 and will never ever again pay for a piece cardboard coming from them, especially now that the art is so shit and half the cards are just the tcg equivalent to a McDonalds promotion lol
yeah its based off your cards for sure.. - i run a black white deck.. the whole vito unlimited combo.. and for the longest time... - i would get 9/10 ultimatum decks to play against.. and basically it depended on their hand draw.. which would be a perfect draw about 8 times out of 10 games.. where they got everything they needed to run their win condition.. but i got tired of playing these decks.. its just stupid to play internet decks that only exist because of youtubers.. SO I ADDED THE WEATHERED RUNESTONE!!! and I... LITERALLY... DONT SEE THOSE DECKS ANYMORE.. No more non sense.. - MTG Arena Wont even put me up against the deck anymore.. - Now... it puts me up against black discard/ Blue Black Discard/mil as if to punish me with lame ass games or something.. its just a shit show man. I FOUND OUT A SECRET THO!!! NEVER CLICK THE SMILY FACE WHEN IT COMES UP!!!
Dude this isn't new they have been rigging match up and suffleing for YEARS. Stop playing standard lol. Other formats it happens but standard is the worst. All the donuts play it that cant build a deck so they all just copy and past whatever is popular. If you wanna play hit me up.

Zero doubts
And I would be ZERO surprised if influencers pulls on drafts, matchmaking, etc proved to be biased
@@lexriskhan8321patently wrong
I feel bad for them.
yea, but i want good game, not arena choosing who is going to win...
Playing Squirrels with Heaped Harvest, Witch's Vanity and Feed the Cycle: "Time to face Timmy's first homebrew creature deck, win 6 times in a row, lose the inevitable Bandit's Talent match-up on the way and then win again."
Playing Squirrels with Overlord of the Hauntwoods, Cut Down and Go for the Throat: "Oh boy. Exploding mice. Unholy Annex netdecks. 50 shades of Sunfall. Lost 8 times in a row and now I'm somehow facing the dinosaur starter deck. Aaand we're back to exploding mice again..."
“How am I still alive? But then I win”
Those games are a rush.
Not only is the client rigged but its especially bad in draft formats where its clear as day what is happening.
The thing is, i dont understand why they even bother matching you up against similar decks?? What's the purpose?
Is confounding riddle beter ore wors then spellgyre
Keep it up bud! you are doing the lords work!
Always!
No proof needed, WOTC admitted that arena matchmaking is rigged.
there was one season i played mostly mono black decks and by the end of that ranked season i had over 50% match ups against mono black, when mono red and boros convoke were top of the meta, so the rigging is still happening in ranked contrary to what some people are claiming in the comments
Stockholm Syndrome setting in for them.
No you are wrong, clearly mental fuckery and time wasting does not matter if it isnt ranked pff
Iagree.The ranked IS rigged too.
thanks for your videos, i stopped arena because thats not how magic is intended to be played. Total random match making and shuffling is the norm, and is also done at paper tournaments that way.
A bunch of people don’t understand random, but love to talk about what random is.
well its a known fact the matchmaking is rigged, theyll use a different word and say its "curated" or "arranged". Dont believe me? just try.
Also that wotc will ban any sort of data tracking
If there is someone that doesn't believe it, then he is playing another game!
(Sarcasm)
Opponent goes first, opponent goes first, opponent goes first, opponent goes first, opponent goes first, you go first, opponent goes first, opponent goes first.....
Cards are weighted in most cases arbitrarily or just never updated so it leads to less then ideal matching
Lol this is my 2nd video I watched of you love this one too hit the nail right on the head
I'm dealing with the same shit, except I see *exclusively* mono-black.
Dude please play in ranked, not the play queue. That there is deck based matchmaking in the play queue is even announced on their official website ...
@@MrMoman7Good point... Thx
This game is truly rigged.
hi, great sound effects
Glad you like them!
you didnt have to make a video proving deck based matchmaking exists in play queue. wizards already said as much.
first one to prove this happens in ranked besides feeling and suspicion will have a video worth making.
The land manipulation is arenas favourote way to rig. Either draughts or flooding. My buddy drew 7 cards and got 7 lands in a game after drawing 3 lands in 3 turns
But your in the Play queue. Everyone knows that uses deck based matchmaking. That’s why I always play Ranked, since I don’t like lots of mirrors.
Rank queue uses rank and deck strength as well. It doesn’t matter
You’re bang on. I play a lot of different decks and notice the difference in the decks I play right away.
The system uses the same point sistem that uses for brawl
*it's
Had to loose 20 straight games to get on a 2 game winning streak all opponents had decks similar to mine was playing red/white -black/white - black/green decks are a mix of aggro, life gain/ drain
I think you should try his in ranked and compare.
You know how you fix arena?
You and every influencer tells everyone to stop playing.
I'm definitely not at the level to be an influencer, just want to show off what arena does.
Yeah no shlt is rigged tell me something new
What you are seeing is the 'Cultivated Play Experience' rather than a true matchmaker. It's how they keep the masses playing.
You're using a top deck in a the unranked cue and somehow you're the victim?
You're like, 4 years late to the party. But it's good that arena newbs are learning. There used to be a giant 2k+ thread complaining about rigging in their bug report section which they just straight up deleted back in 2021. Haven't given a cent to WotC since 2020 and will never ever again pay for a piece cardboard coming from them, especially now that the art is so shit and half the cards are just the tcg equivalent to a McDonalds promotion lol
when did seth rogen start playing MTG?
they always match you against similar collors and they cheet bad'
But redditors will say up and down that it's true random and that you're just salty. lol
lot of magic scrubs in this comment section. if its rigged why you guys play? why you dumb?
Would not be surprised if it is just a bug xD
yeah its based off your cards for sure.. NEVER CLICK THE SMILY FACE WHEN IT COMES UP!!!
lol i always click the sad face even if i had a spectacular winning and fun 😅
when i was climbing in the diamond with mono red, arena just give me one land the entire game and i still win lol
Any way, it's rigged..
if you dont want rigged games, just go play ranked, bo3 that is
Dude this isn't new they have been rigging match up and suffleing for YEARS. Stop playing standard lol. Other formats it happens but standard is the worst. All the donuts play it that cant build a deck so they all just copy and past whatever is popular. If you wanna play hit me up.
Well why not make us your friend on arena so you definitely get a true random real person playing you... It would be nice to have other friends on there than my one buddy that keeps beating me somehow 😭 that goes for anybody... Give me your ID invite my is Wizardcrackpipe#12576
