Christ I would love playing this game more if the developers didn’t limit the creativity of building…My interest is there, but my willingness to patiently do these monotonous tasks really sours the mood for me to continue (especially when it comes to decorating the house…)

@@kikibplays its just strange that 4 allowed far more flexibility, yet was taken away? I would understand if there was more content in terms of story or gameplay compared to 4, but if building was a man component to the longevity of the game, why strip it?

Ive been wishing for vertical half walls and quarter walls along with putting floor patterns on the small upper floors for ages

I loved this build, I am trying to figure out how to do this same build in a tree. Floating round building. A round treehouse. Any and all help would be great. Possibly even a tutorial for a round treehouse

My issue is trying to create an anywhere half wall blueprint to properly create the support joints for the treehouse. A basic treehouse has 3 main components; support, living floor, and a roof. Are multi-story round houses possible? Ones with floors, more walls, the roofs?
You can use roofs as upper floors if you want to do something like that, but real floors aren't an option.
I have sych a hard time getting this done on pc. I cant seem to get the turn right or something.
Does this technique work whilst building in a shelter? Some of those have huge, flat floor areas. Saving this vid for future reference, thankyou! I've been playing since Beta and not managed a round build yet!
You can build this in a shelter, but you have to do it manually every time, since blueprints are disabled there. But it's quite a bit easier, as you can just overlap and snap stuff to your heart's content!
Hey Kiki, great video! Off topic, but are you familiar where to find ground level fog/mist on the map?
That's a really interesting question. I don't know of anywhere with consistent fog/mist, and unfortunately, I know the map like the back of my hand. The closest you could get would be one of the Atomic Shop smoke machines, or those radioactive steam vents in the toxic valley.
I created a Halloween camp within the Cranberry Bog area... within the crevices the mist is constant there... you'll find the best area with space close to the cultist camp... I am sure I was close to the bat icon on the map x

I always wondered why the game makers haven’t made available triangle building pieces for floors and roofs?
I'm honestly not sure why they've limited us so much. It feels strange and arbitrary.
Because they're reinventing the wheel and making some...weird...decisions in the process that actually pile unnecessary work on the developers and constrict end-user creativity. (The never ending rules pertaining to build order; designing pieces in such a way that they can't clip without taking a flamethrower to one's creation; etc.)
I've found I much prefer the voxel-based building systems used primarily in so-called "survival" games myself...games in which survival is often not an issue in the least, btw. Incredible variety of forms to choose from -- square, rectangular, diagonal, round, arches, columns, trims, stairs, ramps, etc. and even street paint, curbs, text, etc. Sky's the limit. Just have to learn how to place the blocks so that the "invisible" portion is facing in a direction that doesn't impede something directly adjacent to it.
Games (e.g. 7 Days to Die, for example) don't have much in the way of decoration...yet. (7DTD has been in alpha for quite a while.) Modders are on the case, though, allowing players to pick up items out in the world with which to decorate their bases of operation. There's some exceptional, architectural talent in such communities as well, such as Temreki of Guns, Nerds and Steel. (Amazing horde base builds, that one.) Existing POIs can also be fully or partially destroyed/rebuilt/customized to one's heart's content. Just have to set down a "land claim" block and you're good to go.
There are no "building sets" in voxel-based systems, but only the blocks/forms and a nifty texture painting system that even allows one to pick textures in use in various POIs for players to use in their builds.
Why Beth didn't just license such a system and make a proprietary game of it is quite beyond me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Great tutorial. I’ve been trying to make a blueprint with 2 small round buildings with a linked foundation (2 foundations) and I can’t get it to work, any ideas???

So you want to have two 10-sided round structures with a sort of bridge of two foundations connecting them in the middle? I need to play around with that, see if I can figure something out. If I can, I'll add it to the next video that I'm working on right now.
Yeah, I tried to do it but a floor piece goes missing and leaves a triangle shaped gap. It looks kind of cool though 😁

I’m trying to do this on a like 30+ wall circle thing because I’m making a circus tent for like my circus themed shelter and I really like your design of the roof. The best of others. I’ve seen online a holy crap I’m not looking forward to this part I’m not confident I can do it with how huge it is😂
I cant fucking do it. Always the last wall doesnt fit. Ffs, why bethesda dont allow us to simply clico ROUND BASE and insta build it.
