Ngl I’ve been following you, biffa, cityplanner plays, and infrastructurist for CS2 content, but your city sir is the one i liked the most in terms of aesthetic
Hello Sunny Scunny. I discovered your videos last week and have caught up on the entire Sunny Isle series in the past three days! I really love your network-focused attention to detail and city building, where pedestrian access and small streets matters so much more than Stroads and mega-interchanges. It's a really lovely breath of fresh air and the overall city is looking fantastic, one of the best in the community. You talked in this episode about major future expansion, and I wanted to throw my 2c into the ring. It has seemed weird to me, since episode 3 when the first port was built, where that was the edge of the entire city. There is a lot more flat green space further down the coast past the port and Warehouse District that just looks prime for more fields, urban hinterland, and maybe even another small town..? Now that the city has the budget to afford new tiles, maybe now is the time!? It can also be an opportunity to replace the fields and the industries that have been displaced by recent urban expansion, and maintain the island's agricultural productivity. It might also provide the beginnings of a poly-centric regional community. At the moment there really is only the main city (with its many neighbourhoods) and Rivierhill. Adding a third or fourth community would provide good reason to then expand public transport and maybe even local train lines between different communities. Each community could also have a regional specialty (eg a signature industry building or tourist landmark). But just even adding a little but more fields and buildings out past the Warehouse District would be a brilliant start! Perhaps an episode expanding out that way, which then finally justifies doing something about the urban boundary highway which clearly has become a major problem. Please let me know what you think! Really loving the series so far!
Thank you for watching my videos! It has been a while since my first one, and my aspirations have changed as my ideas continue to grow. There are always projects I want to create that I haven't yet had the chance to work on, all while trying to balance the budget and simulation mechanics. Expanding the island is a top priority, but the only thing holding us back is the upkeep cost of the tiles. It definitely pays to use the available space efficiently, but we’ll soon run out of room if we're not careful. I'm quite a slow builder, and I know some people would prefer to see faster progress. However, I enjoy this playstyle and plan to build on this island for a long time, so we’ll get to everything eventually. Thank you for catching up with me, and I’m happy to hear your ideas too!
37:08 I think all one way roads are leading towards the intersection in between the schools and none are leading away so cars are trapped there. The game is probably not complaining because of the little pedestrian "roundabout" but there is still no way out
I love how the university has a beautiful environment for students. I am a little bit excited, because I am going to join my university very soon 😅. I know it's silly. but I, somehow, emotionally touch. Thank you for giving us such a nice episode at the start of 2025.
Such a cool build! Yeah elementary schools are annoyingly low capacity. That tiny community-college looking university has room for 5K students, but the urban promenade elementary, which is easily twice the size, can only house 1.5k? I understand its for balance: IRL i would expect 2-8 elementary for every highschool, and 4-12 highschool for every college + university. But something about the implementation bugs me. Maybe CO could significantly reduce the amount of sims who want to go to a higher education level in your city?
13:26 I had a really weird thing going on with these fences, which I would guess is coming from mod-fuckery; but these fences were popping up on...houses for me lol. I'm guessing there's some prop randomising, and for some reason, that damn fence ended up on the list.
I can't lie, that Japanese school asset looks awful in my opinion. Just such a large footprint with an awful monotone tan surface in the back. Just not a fan.
For CS players, I thinks there's two ways of something looking "good". 1) It's kind on the eyes 2) It's realistic - which can fairly often mean it's a bit grim lol. Pretty much all the Japanese service assets are a bit grim and brutalist, but it's doing something that the other assets aren't, which is needed.
@shadowdragonv8256 it doesnt. Which is a real shame because they couldve been used in alot of places. but they just seem off because they're so bright and the roofs are blue...

Thank you for giving this small creator's video a chance! I really appreciate the compliment, and I love their content too. More to come!
This is a good reminder of the importance of ensuring adequate elementary education supply. Good intro!

a lot of youtubers seem to forget the city management part of the city builder game so i appreciate you spreading awareness on this topic ❤

Oops, I inadvertently made a vehicle black hole, fixed! Thanks for spotting that!
Very cool build! I really liked the large school campus at the end of the episode. It's excellent!
They need to tweak the demand for elementary schools. There is no way 25% of my population is elementary school age.
I love how the university has a beautiful environment for students. I am a little bit excited, because I am going to join my university very soon 😅. I know it's silly. but I, somehow, emotionally touch.

Best of luck!
Yet another lovely slow-simmering build, just to my liking. Thanks for sharing.
I love this build! easily one of the most realistic and human scale one out there!! cheers
Terrific build! 👏 I really enjoyed how you used the Japanese elementary school. I haven’t tried that one yet but will for sure now!
Thanks, CB!

The university building does seem out of balance, but perhaps they offer night classes and remote learning?
really enjoying your videos, including background music. great with a cup of coffee! thank you for sharing.

Don't look at the landfill 🫣
YES NEW SUNNY
How do you make the game look so sharp without that flickering on the edge of buildings and trees?
UA-cam compresses a lot, I still see the jagged edges on my screen. Some flickering can be mitigated by freezing time of day too
@SunnyScunny ohh thks
Fantastic episode!
Amazing video man!
I can't lie, that Japanese school asset looks awful in my opinion. Just such a large footprint with an awful monotone tan surface in the back. Just not a fan.
Japanese pack overall is kinda poor, i know i know, it's free but it's not great imo.

It's pretty realistic imo, but it definitely doesn't work in every build
It’s not the prettiest but I’m happy that it brings some variety to the build
@@iamjames8200 the apartment buildings are good imo but outside of that i agree
Great video, amazing city. What Lumina settings do you have?
Another superb Sunny build 🙏
I love your cure and attention to the details
I think that you maybe can turn the “french part” a little bit darker. It seems like its another city. Anyway, great video!
I believe the recolouring doesn't work with those buildings
@shadowdragonv8256 it doesnt. Which is a real shame because they couldve been used in alot of places. but they just seem off because they're so bright and the roofs are blue...
Love that final campus Scunny. It looks like it's all a really nice university campus rather than a super-primary.
how much would increasing the education budgets do? or are you not able to change the elementary/secondary/tertiary independently?
Not sure the budget impacts capacity, its more related to the percentage of graduation success
Yes new video of sunny !
@SunnyScunny, do you use any specific mod to adjust the lighting and color in your game?
Using Lumina, also, set time of day using the Time and Weather Anarchy mod
Best looking cities over here
why not allocate operating dristics??
Good shout! While I don’t see the benefit of it while the city is fairly condensed, it will be useful when we build new places on the island
You gotta respect the road hierarchy or soon your city will bottleneck with traffic issue!!
I love traffic!
The city of my dreams where I want to live 🙂
I have to say, I don't think having a tower block set up like a viewing gallery over a school playground is a great idea 🙄
Please increase your this city reality in USA please sir please
I’m all ears, let me know your ideas!
