The 2024 AITO M5 boasts a 1.5-liter turbo engine generating 127 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque, mated to a single-gear automatic transmission. Its front engine layout and rear-wheel drive configuration contribute to its dynamic performance. With a curb weight of 2220 kg (4894 lbs) and dimensions measuring 4770/1930/1625 mm, with a wheelbase of 2880 mm, the AITO M5 offers a spacious yet agile driving experience. Its CLTC comprehensive range extends up to 1,425 km, with a pure electric range of up to 255 km. The maximum speed achievable is 200 km/h.
Furthermore, the AITO M5 is available in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (4WD) variants. The RWD model features a rear permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering 200 kW of peak power and 360 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 4WD model combines a rear motor generating 150 kW of power and 300 N⋅m of torque with a front induction asynchronous motor producing 165 kW of power and 420 N⋅m of torque. This configuration results in a peak output of 315 kW and 720 N⋅m of torque, facilitating acceleration from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 4.4 seconds.
