Girl all I got to say is I just turned 20 years old and I’m still learning to cook I go to your page for every recipe. I made your tres leches, your pozole, your Mac and cheese! Plus I want to try more! You helped me cook so much better! I feel so good when I cook! Your recipes are the bomb!
I use the same brand Doña Maria, but I blend with a few more ingredients to add more flavor, like tomato, onion, garlic, cumin, knorr pollo, cinnamon, chocolate abuelita, crackers, peanut butter and the baso of mole, all blender with warm water, believe me, you don't even know that is mole Doña María, and i like to brown the chicken with the respective seasonings, then pour the mix of mole into and you finish cooking all together. the idea is that the chicken absorbs the taste of mole. Good video, thanks...
@@valerieaguirre1843 Hi Valerie, sorry if I didn't reply before, would be depend on the size of the tomato, I use Rome tomato, one or two, 1/4 if onion, I love garlic so I'm very generous 4 or 5 cloves but 3 would be good, around 6 saltine crackers for consistency, half tea spoon of cumin, half tea spoon of cinnamon, one cube of knorr caldo de pollo (chicken) could be two if you like, one full table spoon of peanut butter, half of the chocolate that is show on this video, and if you like a little spicy, you can add one chile Serrano, and the baso Doña María, all together in a blender with warm water, then pour over the chicken ( previously gilded) I usually Cook 8 pieces Leg and thigh, cook for about 15 to 20 minutes, you can add water to avoid getting thick. Thank you for all your help and simple instructions! I will have to surprise him with this one!

Looks simple enough. As a single dad I look for easy recipes. Gonna give this one a try n make some enchiladas de mole with your sauce recipe. Haber como me va.
I'm so glad I watched this before making dinner I thought you can just add the mole sauce to your chicken I didnt know you had to add more to it thank you for sharing
You don't have to add other ingredients. I'll just add a little sugar?, because I like it sweet. I am going to try this recipe though, for a different flavor.
Made this in my crock pot and was the first time I ever tryed to make this. It was SOOO GOOOOOD and sooooo easy. THANK YOU. Your the BEST. Stay safe and healthy.
My mom used to make this for me growing up. It was one of our favorite meals. She passed away in 2019. She would use this jar too but it was SO GOOD💜thank you for this recipe
This is seriously amazing! 10 out of 10!! The mole sauce out of the jar didn’t taste good to me but once I added all the additional ingredients it took it to the next level. So glad I found your recipe 😋

I’m about to make it for the first time for my Mexican baby father and he always wants me to make food by scratch but I’ll give this one a try 👍 it looks simple
Made mole for the 1st time and my family loved it. Thank you for sharing this recipe. The little glass jars definitely brought back memories 🥺❤️ from my childhood.
Just made it today it’s very delicious I love it 😻 I had my husband try it and rate from 1 to 10 he said it was a 9. This is coming from a person that has legit mole coming from my suegra soooo it stick to this recipe better ! Thank you so much 😊

OMG! I had made the Dona Maria Mole before, but just by adding the water and a tablespoon of sugar to cut out the bitterness, but this recipe was so much better and still so easy. I could just drink this stuff lol this goes in my favorite recipe folder. Thanks!
Great easy recipe. My family loves it. Tip: use the bent pointed end of a manual hand held can opener to lift the lid. That way it will save u from damaging your knife.
I love the simplicity of your recipe. Only suggestion I have is that if you really love the taste of chicken mole, then take the baked chicken and shred it after baking. Then place the strips of baked chicken into the prepared mole broth, and alow to simer for another 30-40 mins. That allows the taste of mole sauce to be observed into the chicken. It enhances the flavor. Kind of like smoking a turkey, you want the taste all the way through the meat.
I like to dice my meat (pork or chicken) season with salt and diced garlic, get a good sear on it and then cook on low for 30 minutes or so. I use 5 cups of water to one Mole jar, 1 chocolate tab, 3T of chicken bouillon, and then let the meat cook in it for an hour on low. I have never used peanut butter in my Mole so that's why I watched this recipe. I'm very curious about it. I just might try it this week
Thank you for actually posting a recipe that is easy with simple ingredients. I've been looking for a simple mole recipe and they always contain weird ingredients that are not easily accessible or 45 steps. :)
Don't use a knife! Use a bottle opener, hold the jar with a paper towel and slowly push up on the lid. You can also use almond butter instead of peanut.
I love your channel. Im from San Antonio Texas recently moved to Vermont. Whenever I try out one of your recipes, I swear it feels like I’m back home for a split second 😊.
Oh that looks scrumptious! I had no idea peanut butter could go in it, but makes sense now to add that flavor and rich creamy texture. Gonna give this a try! 👌🏼
I’ve made my mole with Peanut butter since 1962 when we lived in Alaska. I had to improvise a lot when I lived there. But first I toast the peanut butter to get that nutty taste. Then the mole paste, but not a whole can. I use garlic, black pepper and cumin, just a hint.and just half of the chocolate. Add your broth and simmer till it thickens. I don’t use any oil or grease, just toast the pbutter in warm pan, then add everything else. Sometimes I will add Chile powder for a darker look. It is so good, I fooled my dad with it years ago.he said it was the best. Just like grandma used to make it. Yours looks amazing too..
I work in a group home and just made this! My first time making mole ever and it came out sooooooo good! Everyone loved it!! I shredded some chicken breast and seasoned it similar to the thighs you made and *chefs kiss*
I wanted to thank you for this recipe. Like you, I really enjoy cooking for myself (a forgiving audience of one, age almost 70!), and it helps with my dietary restrictions too. My attempt was maybe very non-traditional -- I used brown rice, subbed Scharffenberger's for the Mexican chocolate, added a bit of cinnamon and a dash of almond extract, my mole sauce jar came from Whole Foods, and I used my own home-made chicken stock -- but the chocolate-peanut-butter combination was inspired, and really leant a lot of depth to the sauce I felt! I also appreciated the guidance of cooking the chicken separately from the sauce. I had originally thought I would just put them in a dish and bake, but I'm glad I didn't. And since I was cooking for one, I scaled it down a bit, and probably missed the proportions some, but the sauce is very forgiving. I found that I needed to boil off some of the water (I didn't add extra, only used 2 cups of broth), and I worried if that would affect the flavor, but it turned out just fine. So thank you again, and next time, maybe I'll use your rice recipe as well! And if you don't yet have one, please add one. Thank you again.
I really liked this recipe and have made it twice, if I could offer just one thing, the flat side of a bottle opener works well for opening the mole bottle, and won’t damage or dull your knife.
The recipe looks delicious and we will make it next week! But I HAVE to ask "Have you never heard of a church key?' Use the blunt end to open the cap with the jar upright and save your knives (and maybe a finger)!!! It will bend the cap, but you are using the whole jar of mole' seasoning anyway.
I'm going to try this today, because I'm somewhat of a lazy cook and don't like doing everything from scratch. Hopefully I will like it and try the homemade recipe later.
Will be veganizing this recipe, hope it turns out well & can’t wait to try it!! Update: It came out really well! I made it with jackfruit and seasoned it the same way & added a bit of vegan chicken stock to it. Cooked it on a pan for about 30 minutes. For the mole, my sister said she’d do without the peanut butter (and I just added 1 tbsp). I thought it was fine. Thanks for the recipe!
I love the simplicity of your instructions and also how clean you are! My wheto husband watched a couple of your videos with me and asked me to make this for him! Thanks! 🤩
I love mole - I add pepitas & peanut butter to it but my daughter always tells me it taste bitter to her. Tonight, I followed your recipe & my daughter said it was delicious. Great recipe. Thank you!
Wish I had seen your video when I tried this jar of mole years ago. I tried it for my hubby cause he wanted mole so much. But me what do I know about making mole. So we saw this jar at the market and thought hey why not. Bad idea, I made some rice. Baked the chicken, warmed the tortillas. Then it was hard to open this jar lol. Warmed it up and it was awful. We ate the rest of the stuff we complained about the awful mole. I can laugh about it now after watching your video. But now I know what went wrong. We live and learn. That was over 10 years ago. Thank you 💖 😊
By the way, I just used Doña Maria this afternoon and it popped right open with one of those little can openers right at the 3 marks on the top of the jar lid.
My son tried making enchiladas for the first time. They weren’t bad but the mole sauce was a bit strong. I’m going to have him try your recipe and see how he likes it.
Thank you Simply Mamá. Your mole dissolves better than mine. I'm using the same Doña María mole from a jar that you're using. I don't bother with chocolate and peanut butter. I just add 3½ jars of water and heat. I'll try it your way next time. Mil gracias.
Thank you ☺️ for showing how to do this . My mom made this years ago when I was younger but it never came out right so she stop trying. Now I have older aunts on my father’s side that can make it and it’s fantastic. But they all live in Texas 🤦🏻♀️ and poor me up here in Colorado. My mom has past and it’s brought back memories of her cooking. Im going to try this for my family soon and teach my daughter who’s half mex and white how to make this so she can do this for herself and future family 🥰💗☺️
I'm from south Texas and we grew up eating molé however not the chocolate version but the peanut butter version. My grandma and mom have never added any chocolate whatsoever, they also put crumbled bread slices to add thickness to the gravy. I've tried the chocolate version and it's definitely an acquired taste
omg... I love this mole because it is the closest taste to authentic mole. Costa Rica just recently started selling this jar product in certain stores so I definitely stocked up.
I made it today and I haven't had it in long time but its really think sauce. You can open the bottle with a bottle oppener, no need for a knife as its not safe and it can ship the glass.
I had bought a jar of mole and I had no idea how to use it. This recipe is on time. I'm still not sure how it will taste but I'm going to make it and find out. Thanks for the easy recipe. ❤️
Loooove mole from the jar.. But i only use pb and sugar.. Tried it with abulitas once and did not like it.. It was a sad day.. Lol.. Leftovers are the best.. Especially over eggs and fried tortillas in the morning..
Hola Angelica🤗 gracias mil por compartir esos deliciosos platillos culinarios todos muy deliciosos , y si naturalmente voy a preparar este mole que se ve riquísimo 😋yummm
When I was a kid my grandmother always save the glass from the mole we use it as drinking cup lol good memories
I still have some of my grandmas mole glasses lol
Yesi Dominguez I always still save the little cup
Mario Ramirez : I always save the mole glasses! They make great drinking glasses like for orange juice, etc. :)
🙋♂️ still do. Perfect for juice or enough to take a pill. Back in the day they had different designs in the glass now it's just the one.
I was thinking the same thing. Would make a great glass for oj in the morning. 🙂

An old fashioned 'church key' bottle opener works great to get the lid off. Use the flat end not the pointy end and that lid just pops right off.

I’m cooking this recipe right now and it’s amazing thank you so much
I made it today and I haven't had it in long time but its really think sauce. You can open the bottle with a bottle oppener, no need for a knife as its not safe and it can ship the glass.
Hermoso cabello gris. Pollo y mole 😋 uno de mis favoritos.
Wow i was trying toe eat it straight out of the jar, this makes sense, needs doctoring. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
I love your way of doing it. Easy and delicious. Thank you!
I didn’t know how to make this properly, thank you! ❤❤❤

I had bought a jar of mole and I had no idea how to use it. This recipe is on time. I'm still not sure how it will taste but I'm going to make it and find out. Thanks for the easy recipe. ❤️

I made this mole tonight, it was awesome. Thank you for sharing.
I know I shouldn't have been, but I was surprised about the chocolate & peanut butter. Looks delish!
Never heard of adding peanut butter. I love my mole spicy! So i add red peppers
Your such a great cook. I love Mole. You taught me how easy it was to prepare...I will be making some. Thank You..🌷
Loooove mole from the jar.. But i only use pb and sugar.. Tried it with abulitas once and did not like it.. It was a sad day.. Lol.. Leftovers are the best.. Especially over eggs and fried tortillas in the morning..
Or just a bowl and roll your tortilla up and dip it!!! 😋
