As someone who was born in 2011 and became in a coaster enthusiast back during 2021 I was sad I never got to ride on big bad Wolf but hearing that they’re going to try to do a spirit of successor to it fills me with so much joy
I'm a wood coaster hobbyist, but there's a few great steel coasters in my life. Big Bad Wolf was one. The drop and two turns over the river is one of the most unique, fun and intense moments of any steel coaster I've ridden. Naming/making tribute to Big Bad Wolf with a _family_ inverted coaster is silly and insulting. The only reason Big Bad Wolf's name and legacy should be used is a near-exact coaster with a big drop and turns over the river, as close to the original as possible. Big Bad Wolf was _no_ family coaster. I could easily envision a B&M inverted coaster following a similar layout, and _because it's inverted_ it could handle the forces. A heartline roll or loop, leading straight into the river drop & turns, wow! But thinking you're honoring Big Bad Wolf with a family coaster? No.
They already have a B&M inverted coaster, it's called Alpengeist. Maybe Vekoma would be willing to reproduce a vintage Arrow suspended with new track design and include their floorless trains? That would be a suitable Big Bad Wolf revival.
I think an RMC is a better option still. They have a more modern under-the-track coaster with Alpie, and Verbolten already pays homage to the Wolf by mimicking the famous drop. Unless they took out Verbolten, I see no reason to do this. It has no logical sense other than nostalgia points, which like I said, VERBOLTEN ALREADY HAS. And even if they made it, there’s still no swinging cars.
They will be getting a baby b&m invert. Period. Sucks because you guys are due for a big project, not a filler family coaster. Bgt is my home park. Was hoping they would drop a record breaking rmc because of iron gwazi. B&m is doing a family coaster at sea world orlando. Tampa is getting a family invert. So you guys are obviously getting a family B&M. Anyone smell a package deal?
An RMC would be more interesting. Even if it did not break any records. Don't give us a pail imitation of a past legendary attraction. Give us something completely different instead.
I think that something like this would be great for Ireland. An RMC, something massive, something that can be seen, and something amazing. Drachen Fire could be seen, but the majority thought it was awful. This has to be something that keeps the crowds going back there. Like when Apollo opened in Festa, thats where a good portion of the crowds went and kept going back. So thats the ticket, the ride needs to be good enough for the crowds to keep going back there to the coaster. And this family coaster isn’t it. Like I said, its a good ride, just not in the right location for the park. It needs to be in Ireland, trust me there is more land available than you think.
A family coaster, however modern, "honoring" Big Bad Wolf's legacy, makes as much sense as Drachen Fire Roller Skater. BGW is a great park, but this family coaster with that name is a bad idea.
The other issues being that Arrow suspended coasters are no longer available and the place where it should go is currently occupied by another coaster.
Really a family coaster bruh. It’s not like we dont have invader, verboten, Darkcoaster. We need more big rides. If they wanted an invert do a dueling dragons type invert. It had near misses and this land used to be home to a dragon themed ride.
This is a massive let down as far as this decision is concerned. You mean to tell me they hoarded that prime real estate for all of these years for a B&M family invert that doest even look as good as the original Big Bad Wolf. We don’t have anything like a steel vengeance or a iron gwazi in the immediate area. They just added a family coaster they are making all of the wrong decisions for this park. A massive record breaking RMC would have put BGW on the map not a B&M family invert.🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂

Unfortunately verbolten occupies the original station and overall course layout that BBW originally used.
Lord now if they can just bring back the drachen fire too with b&m we can all be happy!!

In my opinion, I would have perfered to see the RMC

Tampa is adding Phoenix Rising which I am thinking will be the prototype for the new Big Bad Wolf if they add it back to Williamsburg.
Now if B&M would only develop their take on the original arrow suspended coaster concept then this project could be viewed as a true successor to BBW.
🐺
I wish.
I want the Big Bad Wolf back!!!!!!
Would be a fun one to return!

Big Bad Wolf is gone. It ain’t coming back. The train cars being one of the issues. The track stresses being another.

That’s the Big Bad puppy. Such a wrong choice for BGW.
very bad decision imo
