Korean IDOLS portray an image that our conservative culture will accept. The sweet, kind, funny, and somewhat perfect pretty boys being SOLD to the public is only an image. Idols hide their true nature, thoughts, and opinions because they know that can END careers.
BIGBANG didn't do any of that from the get-go. They didn't try to be that kind of idol. They have remained true to themselves. Spoke truth and challenged hierarchy, authority, and system that most IDOLS could not dare touch. BIGBANG made changes to our music industry by doing it their way. The cost of that is getting dragged down or becoming a thorn in the eyes of conservatives.
Next-gen toxic stans always try to downgrade all of that too. But remember, without the existence of people like them, society will never move forward.

I guess you can brand them a “bad boy group” but they’re also a 2nd generation group. Times weren’t as strict(is that the word I’m thinking of?) as now.
Hmm. Those times were stricter. But they don't care. Its music and artistry they go for. That's why they were known breaking boundaries and norms in SK. Known as bad boys and ugly. Basically YGE itself.

bigbang is the BigBang of Korea!!! They were KINGS.... siblings to the baddest female (if you know what i mean, please search the hint too). Then, they went to do the army services, got into troubles here and there, until another band took over, the PRINCES BTS. I am pretty sure many Armys were VIPs too.
Their genres have no bound. They originally more to hiphop and r&b but through out years they are not afraid to try different genres. They have 100% control on their music and a lot like the producing of their album(write and produce), album concept,concert(they would also fund their own concert of their own pocket) and perfomance etc…
They were the one who brought YG Entertainment to become a big company back then. You can google their older building a small rundown place, how they were struggling in their trainees.
If you listen to Sober, it sounded like a happy song but when you read the lyrics its such a depressing sad song.
Bigbang is more like a rebelious boy group. They were different from other, most idol would suck up to their fans and general public all that but they just do what they want. But because of their attitude they actually manage to make a name for themself, they become the legendary of kpop industry. Even after many years, their name would constantly be spoken by younger kpop artist. They were their idols. The first to a lot of things. Nowadays many younger generation fans would discredit Bigbang but still that would not change a fact.
Most of people i know are not really interested in kpop but if you mention bigbang or play their songs they would definitely know it. And some say bigbang is their only exception. Till these days people still know them despite their hiatus. But taeyang is back, and so are the others. Hopeful for more bigbang contents❤

They kinda were the bad boy group, they went outside the confined of kpop and found western producers and choreographers to create their shit, but the bad part, in Bang Bang Bang their is a Blonde guy named Senguri and he had to leave the group cause he owned a night club where women were being sold for sex and when something like that comes out in South Korea the cancel culture is real, the expect you to leave the spot light, you apologize and you can never do it again, and like literally the next day after the news came out, Senguri did a press conference apologizing and no one has heard from him since, BigBang came out with another single after it with just the four guys but everyone is doing their own thing now. Then TOP who is the guy with the pink hair in Fxxk it, went to the military, got busted having weed (and in South Korea it does matter, weed is a drug, its disgraceful) he like try to overdose after being suspended from the Military for a few weeks, the details are foggy, I would have to research it, but Bigbang is like my ride or die before BTS, I love them, Kpopin 2015 and 2016 was amazing, Bigbang was in their prime, we had 2ne1, EXO, BTS was just coming up, it was amazing. And all their Live Performances are amazing, they performed at the Staple Center in Downtown LA which is now the Crypto Center, sold out, the concert is online is a production
