- Hemsby is a popular holiday seaside village located near Great Yarmouth and Norwich on the coast of Norfolk, England. Hemsby is known for its beautiful sandy beaches, vibrant tourist scene, and a range of holiday activities. It has been a popular travel and tourism destination for tourists and holidaymakers for many years.
The beach, to the north of Great Yarmouth and Caister, was closed earlier this year when high tides claimed metres of sand from the access point known as "the gap". Five homes on The Marrams were demolished before they collapsed into the sea.
Only a few miles north of Great Yarmouth you'll find Hemsby and Newport which together form a lively village seaside resort and an ideal touring base for Great Yarmouth, the Norfolk Broads and surrounding area.
Hemsby is divided into two main areas: the village and the beach. The village has a number of shops and attractive buildings, including the 12th century church of St. Mary the Virgin. Beach Road plays host to a range of eateries and amusements including a fun fair and bingo, crazy golf and several clubs providing family entertainment including dancing and nightly discos.
Visitors love the beautiful sandy beach at Hemsby and Newport, sheltered by sand dunes. Scroby Sands is easily visible from the wide sloping beach which also features some World War II relics, a scattering...
The main attraction of Hemsby is its stunning coastline, which stretches along the eastern edge of the village. The beach is a major draw for visitors, offering long stretches of golden sand, dunes, and picturesque views of the North Sea. It's a great spot for sunbathing, picnicking, building sandcastles, and taking leisurely walks along the shore.
Hemsby is also famous for its thriving holiday park, which caters to a large number of visitors. The holiday park features a range of accommodations, including caravans, chalets, and camping facilities, making it a popular choice for families and those seeking a traditional seaside vacation. The park provides a variety of amenities and entertainment options, including swimming pools, amusement arcades, restaurants, bars, and live entertainment.
For those looking for additional activities, Hemsby offers a range of attractions and things to do, especially on Beach Road where you'll find lots of amusement arcades, cafe's and shops. The village has a small but lively amusement park called The Fun Park featuring thrilling rides, go-karts, mini-golf, and other attractions for both children and adults. There are also several arcades, shops, and restaurants in the area, providing entertainment and dining options.
Nature enthusiasts can explore the nearby Norfolk Broads, a network of rivers, lakes, and marshes famous for its diverse wildlife and scenic landscapes.
Hemsby is well-positioned to explore the broader region of Norfolk. The historic city of Norwich, with its medieval architecture, shopping districts, and cultural attractions, is within easy reach. Other nearby places of interest include the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the historic town of Great Yarmouth, and the charming coastal villages along the Norfolk coastline.
In summary, Hemsby is a charming holiday village in Norfolk, England, offering a beautiful coastline, a vibrant holiday park, a range of attractions and activities, and easy access to the wider Norfolk region. It is a popular destination for families and tourists seeking a classic seaside getaway.

What a lovely place beautiful beach my ideal place
Just got back from 3 days in Hemsby as we went down for a wedding nearby. Lovely little place, and perfect for a short break.
Lovely video of hemsby Neil we used to stay just down the road at scratby we often used to visit there
GREAT WALK 👍🚶♂️Thanks Mr. GIMBLEMASTER
Very welcome
Much prefer Hemsby to Great Yarmouth. thanks for the video.
Indeed. I'd much prefer Yarmouth to be falling into the sea at this point 😂
love Hemsby been going there since i was a kid along time
what a wonderfull little place ive never been there . but i will be going after your great video 👍
Great Vid 👍 When I was a kid used to jump off that pill box that is now in the sea onto sand dunes which have sadly disappeared then run 50 metres to the sea 👍Mother nature is claiming back it’s land 👍 That ice cream van is the same one that used to run up and down the beach back in the 70’s and early 80’s , Great place Hemsby is always visit 3 or 4 times a year lots of good childhood memories for me ❤️👍
That is a wonderful place for a holiday with the family and friends and with the shops and restaurants and cafes and hotels so people can stay in as well as the beach and the sea and the nice weather to have a bucket and spade fish and chips amusements to go in and the seagulls round too thanks Neil
Looks a beautiful town I will be adding that one to my list of places to visit shame its falling to the sea
We went there for years. The next road over which sadly you missed is where the holiday camps are nice and secluded. With other walks down to the beach. We now retired to devon but have lots of memories and photos of lovely Hemsby ❤
The one thing I love about your videos is how immersive they all are. Popping my headphones on, I may as well be at the locations you travel. As for Hemsby, an old-fashioned seaside quality and feel to it. Lovely beach to walk along, too. Cheers for such another great tour, Neil. 👍
Thank you so much
I work really hard on the sound - takes me hours sometimes- so that means a lot
I will be going here in August with my wife and kids go every year its a beautiful place with lots to do and see for all the family highly recommend to any one with or without kids such an amazing seaside town can't wait to be back here again
Absolutely loved this , thank you 😊
You're so welcome!
Beautiful ❤
It is!
@@GimbalWalkTV in 2018 one of our days out when we stayed at Scratby was to hemsby where my (then 4 year old) grandson loved the go karts and remote control jeeps and the racing games inside the amusements attached to the go kart track.
Went on so many holidays to hemsby, Mr B's was great, an all the arcades as a kid. I even met my wife their. Wonder if they still do the market on a Wednesday. Thanks for this brought back a lot of happy memories for me
What a cute little place ,the beach looks lovely but i dont think id like to sit below the cliffs ,ive just overlaid a map from the 1900s over the present day coastline and its shocking how much has been lost ,im afraid we cant fight mother nature shes taking back what she thinks is hers ,i would still like to visit Cromer,Sheringham and Hemsby before too much more of it disappears into the sea great video as usual thanks .
That sea looks good for a paddle see what you mean about desert island feel.😊
Yeah!
The beach looks lovely. Thank you for sharing.
Went there for years with all my family loved it
I have been going to hemsby since childhood, we used to have have picnics on the beach, it's was much bigger beach and sand dunes then, it's all gone now with erosion
Love Hemsby still traditional and fun been going since I was a baby and also my children (now adults) still love to go up for our annual holiday roll on October can't wait! So sad to see the coastal erosion happening though I remember the big sand dunes. Great video
Be going to Hemsby in August when we have our holiday in great yarmouth 😊 watched a program about a chap who has moved his house from the edge twice ! What I couldn't beleave was at the end of the program it said the local council had given planning permission for sea defences your losing a place at a rapid rate and you still got to have planning permission the mind boggles at the need for red tape in this situation!
Hereby wil always be a favourite haunt of mine x
Another great & fantastic video of HEMSBY | Full tour of seaside village Hemsby Great Yarmouth in Norfolk💛💛💜💜
The first time I have seen Hemsby.
It looks very nice, lots for families too.
What a lovely video. Really interesting, enjoyable and relaxing watch.
Thank you - more to come on my channel
Went there a few years ago for a long weekend......great little place, nice beach and there was a pub nr the beach that did a great carvery. Had music on the sunday night and as it was so warm for October the singer performed outside......
We've been going to Hemsby every year for 20 years and still love it as much now as we did the first time we went .
That's great!
Let's hope that nature can give it a break a bit and not keep pulling it into the sea!
Hemsby is a great holiday place families to enjoy u have everything u need
Lovely place
It really is!
The beach is lovely. I want to go
Stayed there a few times
It's lovely isn't it
I've spent many many happy holidays here in the1960s with my mum and dad it's such a shame it looks like it does now . I'll cheerish the happy times back when I was a kid happy days happy memories.
Hemsby looks very nice, we have a couple of friends who live there, we will have to try and visit to see them we usually meet up in Turkey with a few other friends, where we all originally got to know each other.
Yeh I thought it was really nice to be honest!
Spent lot of happy hols there as a kid no tv no radio two shop / pub/ toilet / freshly caught seafood opposite the pub and run run its the sanitary man, And use to have pools of water on the beach when the tide went out
Happy days
Lovely. Been to Yarmouth but not there. The ice cream man probably can't afford an EFTPOS machine. Just give him a pound for your ice cream. Won't be the same when the small businesses are no longer there.
I'm down here at the moment
Very beautiful 🇯🇲
Hemsby is how seaside towns used to be.. your comment about like being on a desert island describes just how great the beach is.. discovered hemsby about 8 years ago... the erosion is so sad... for few years we,d walk along the beach to dunes cafe (AT WINTERTON) sadly the dunes cafe succumbed to the sea... comment about overlaying old map does show how rapidly erosion is happening... global warming? Ps your video is best ive watched.. not too long ... not too many personal comments.. and it comes across you enjoyed making the video... thank you
Thank you very much
Some great info there too!
My favourite seaside came with my parents when twelve now take my granddaughter ❤
Lovely
Went to hemsby about 8 years ago it has change a bit since I last time l came. No I dear when I coming back
Enjoy it while it lasts….
ha ha true
Hemsby is about 16 miles from where i live, lovely beaches there! a shame its eroding so fast though, i remember seeing the pictures of the houses sliding off the cliff onto the beach 😮 I love the small Winterton on sea with the cute little round houses nearby & Wells next the sea as well.
Ooh I need to visit Winterton
Wells coming up soon too
@@GimbalWalkTV Looking forward to your upcoming videos 😊
Out of all the amusement arcades in Hemsby do any of them play prize bingo Gimbal Walk TV?
Not sure to be honest!
yes on Newport Road, Vics Bingo, we have a caravan there ❤
Went to Scratby every school holiday from 1945 ( when war defences were still on the beach ) up to 1956 & Hemsby was lovely then , not quite so sure about it now .
How come you avoid paying cash, I’m the opposite
I don’t carry it anymore really!
@@GimbalWalkTV okay thanks
Lovely smooth sea. I searched Montys chip shop there. Seems to only open on Fridays and Saturdays.
🏖
All English Resort .
It is
Most of the Marrams has been claimed by the sea.
Sad times
fart sound at 7:05
😮😮😮🤣🤣🤣
So you don’t want to buy an ice cream, from an independent seller, because they only take cash. Remember that cash is king and these independent tradesmen rely on small sales for cash because every digital/card payment incurs a cost to the seller. Shame on you. I will no longer be following you on UA-cam
Looks like nothing more than a permanent carnival. Except for the beach, it’s a little depressing to me.
Crikey 😮
Cash is king not card card rubbish
Nooooooo!!!
What a dump, typical British seaside resort clinging to the past when they may have been relevant. Taking children here should be classed as abuse.
😮
Can see why they are not spending money on holding back coastal erosion in this area
😮😮😮
They are!
Spent a week here with some folk with learning disabilities. Awful, awful, AWFUL place! It’s not a holiday I readily own up to having as I have my street cred to think of!! Worse than Butlins at Skegness! Just too “crowded, kiss me quick and candy floss” for my liking. I prefer quieter seasides and river walks. Each to their own.
