If somebody has to teach you not to go back to something or someone who harms you.. you are too far gone. Understand that there are people (male and female) who do exactly what they were inevitably going to do even when the common sense choice is echoed from voices outside one’s own mind. While I understand there are SOME whose trauma cripples them mentally, I cannot stand this tired ass excuse we apply to just anyone - especially when the person quite consciously states “oh I was looking for love in the wrong places and you were not there to teach me to ..” nigga what?? So you’re aware that this is unhealthy and you’re conveniently blaming your choice on your absentee father. You played.

I think the daughter's should move on bcse they are just going to get hurt even more. I have a feeling that once he's done paying the child support for the younger one he's going to ghost them all over again. He just keeps making excuses for everything. This episode was so exhausting! The hurt these kids are carrying is so traumatic! Adults need to stop blaming and begin holding themselves accountable! The Dad wants a pass for issues and circumstances he created! NO SIR, you do not get a pass, change your behavior before the relationship with your daughters become unrepairable! The stepmom is in a catch 22! She will forever be the villain because of the betrayal these young ladies feel toward their dad. It is so sad that justifying the past is more important than ultimately owning the past, apologizing, and agreeing to move forward.

Am I the only one who noticed that the other daughter never really got to speak? A lot of the focus was on the one whom expressed her hurt, anger and frustrations. I feel like one sister basically spoke for both of them. I feel like she needed to release some of what she is clearly holding onto as well. Dad needs to really grow up mentally and emotionally. Mom definitely needs to heal and learn alternatives with communication as a co-parent. Step mom just needs to fall back and support her husband as well as hold him accountable. As a woman, how can you allow a man to play the role of a father to your kids but not his own? 🤔 This show isn’t long enough. No disrespect to Karamo but maybe they should’ve went Iylana.

I don’t know if you’ve ever been between 18 and 21, but it is already a very life altering time and experience for quite a few people. As soon as I put him out, he walked away from our daughters and started a new life with the mistress. The best thing I did for my girls was put them in therapy. They are thriving. Oldest working on her Masters and my youngest graduates college next year. Through counseling and lots of love they still have abandonment issues. I always kept an open door to visitation. The kids were the most mature on this show. I am proud of how they communicated. The parents need healing, accountability and effective communication. The entire family needs therapy individually and group. The kids should never know the specifics of their parents relationship issues. The focus was removed from them to the parents addressing unresolved past issues. Time clearly didn't heal those wombs and I am glad Karamo addressed it appropriately. The step mom didn't need a microphone or to be included in this episode and Karamo was great letting her know that. This is only about the kids and Dad relationship. I hope Dad prioritizes his children and stop pacifying his wife and making her, his ex-wife and child support his excuse. Glad Karamo spoke to Dad about his train of thought and tired excuses.

I went through all of the same things with this man and resented my sisters because at the time they were the “new family” & he always made it seem like everything was beautiful for them while I was the one he turned his back on. My heart breaks for them to know that the same trauma he caused me , he also caused them…. I hope that one day they know that I didn’t choose to be away from them. And that I love them so much. Mom is still locked in a battle over the relationship, not for the kids. The new wife is just a new price of the puzzle. You have to get out of being pissed at him and strategize. Staying locked into what you ex did and focusing on the new woman only destroys you and the kids. She can be an asset in the long game.

The mother sounds like she did everything to keep her family together including forgiving this man’s many misgivings before divorcing this ‘goodfornothing’. But she hasn’t mourned the death of their marriage. Her anger is evident. She doesn’t know that she’s holding his spirit hostage and in doing so, she’s painfully bound. She needs to accept the fact that he’s moved on so that she can let go and truly be free. Pain births reactions. Reactions demonstrate character. Character screams who we are. She’s hurt that he didn’t care enough to stop his bad behavior and love his family. Mom is bitter and she doesn’t realize it. Hopefully, one day she is able to embrace the beauty of her response to his callousness. I hope she seeks counseling for herself. The daughters are confused, hurt and watching.

Never did he call to speak to me and my brother. I finally was able to arrange a meeting with him. After yearning for many years to just know what he looked like. I had no pictures of him. Even after that he still did not try to form a relationship with us. And I never saw him again. I guess that I could have made it happen. But I didn't see any interest on his part. So it was like a double whammy and hurt for me. I would still call him from time to time. Our non-existent relationship affected my life in many ways. The meeting did bring some closure to the mystery of at least knowing what he looked like. I feel for these young ladies. And pray that they receive some healing. The hurt seems to be very great. It is probably a generational curse. The father may not had a relationship with his Father. And doesn't even know what it is all about or how to begin one. Hurt people, hurt people. This is still no excuse. He just did not put much effort into their relationship.
