The sidewalk had some bands back in the day definitely the best was shebeen, after we beat the huns place erupted then came on either shebeen or charlie and the bhoys or the Republican flute band 💚
First time I heard 'Go on Home was in 1997...thought it was a new Rebel Song but as the lyrics suggest it was written just after Bloody Sunday by yer man fae the South Dublin Union (great group)
@@therebelcollective6729 Why did it take so long for that song to get so popular? Nobody had ever heard of it but it's a huge favourite now...even folk that ain't interested in politics go pure bongo when it's played.
It wasn't well known. SDU weren't one of the better known rebel bands of that period. When it appeared on Brazen Head CD and whole new audience heard it.

It was. A regular in the Brazen Head passed a tape of the song to Eire Og and they resurrected it for another generation.
