Agree, I am hesitant to even call it an outright server but more like a server + entertainer. Must be really difficult to keep up that personality and come up with new material all the time.
This is a genius idea from a business perspective too. Just think about it, they can get absolutely NO complaints from customers for "being rude" and then demanding free food for bad service. The only thing anyone can complain about is probably the food itself, and I'm sure they go through great lengths to make sure the food is safe from complaints.

Yep its a fine line between funny, and actually insulting in a mean way. If you´re raised in a household where talking "trash" in a funny way is normal it comes very natural and you can judge by reactions how far you can take it. I do wonder how they do the hiring process. Because you need to make sure all of your staff can get a feeling for it.

The good thing about working at Karen's dinner is that if one day you're in a bad mood you can express it and no one will notice because they'll think it's part of the show hahaha
Him giving her a stuffed animal at the start shows how big this dudes heart is. One of my fav quotes from him in a interview when asked if he’s ever seriously beat up people and he said ‘’ no, I’m afraid to ever go full strength, I avoid fights or getting angry during one’’. A calm, collected, gentleman of a BEAST.
Yeah, as monstrous and scary as his physique is, he's actually a nice and kind man. Also yeah, he wouldn't want to go full rage on someone who starts a fight with him - he has the strength and weight to literally snap someone in half. Even a full force punch could kill someone. I would imagine he would just throw people away from him if they seriously started to get physical.
HazelCat yes that was so wholesome, seeing his arm shaking I thought “I bet his arm shaking is producing more power than all the girls muscles combined.” Just to make her think he’s struggling. (Side note) the little girl to the side of her is so precious. She has a world famous athlete next to her, arm-wrestling and she didn’t give a care in the world was just enjoying her food! And once he lost, she turn and called him a “p^^^y”. I died of laughter.
I liked the face of his wife that was expressing complete joy the whole time. Especially when he said they were going to return to that place in the future 😂
I worked in hospo and the best part about this is the fact that this is how every waiter wants to react to customers. Anybody who has or knows someone that has worked in hospo knows this this is their thoughts 100% of the time. Working here would be amazing.
I remember watching a doc on Eddie years back when he was up and coming with his baby son and wife. Glad to see he’s made it this far and still as a loyal woman by his side. They deserve their success, decent folks for sure.
I think this is actually the perfect place for people with anxiety. Cause you KNOW 100% what is going to happen. You are not afraid if the waitress is having a bad day. You know it will be awful
I have really bad anxiety and I was interested in watching this video just to see how awful it would be. Weirdly enough, I feel like I'd get less anxious ordering here and I had no idea why. Your explanation was spot on.
If anyone lives in the US we have a restaurant called "Dicks" that's a similar concept. I would love to with there cause I can be an arrogant ahole and not get fired.
As someone with mild Anxiety, due to being on the spectrum...I think this would make me even more anxious, because I'd be afraid of asking to take certain things off their burgers...like no tomato or no onion. I'd be worried that they'd make really rude comments about it. So then, I'd be like "Well, I'll have nothing then." Or, if they brought the burger with those things on it, I'd have to remove it, and then I'd be worried about them making comments about that...
After working as a waiter for 5 years, this would be the dream job. Same skills/routine yet being able to say whatever aggressive intrusive thought to deliver a Karen experience? Sign me up lmao
Honestly I think this staff will have "somehow" of negative behavior switch in their private life cuz when you act a certain role for too long you somehow absorb some that role's behavior, just like actors when acting as a villain or narcissistic man/woman they absorb some of it maybe for a short or a long time..
@SLV @CodyEver They are not actors lol, They are actual hospitality staff who just have the opportunity to say what is truly on the mind to muppet customers who think they are always right etc. They are all fully trained professionals in the industry, they just know like most hospitality professionals how, when and where to laugh/take the piss etc. Try doing 15+ years in a FOH role and say you do not feel like saying the same half the time. This place takes the whole concept of "the customer is always right" crap and shits on it, because 90% of the time it's true. I don't think you have got the jist of what the place is all about. I could be wrong but that's my opinion just based on your comments. :)
Eddie it’s really cool you took time out of your day to do that with all those people in the restaurant. You just made their day and made them all so happy even the employees.

@@Luir_mias Nah. At 13:19 you can see the waiter guy trying his hardest to keep a scowl on, but slightly failing to keep up the act. He even cracks a very slight grin/smile, though it's most likely because he knows Eddie from YT, and is a low-key fan/subscriber of his. Eddie being there was probably the highlight of his day, and he had to keep up the act at the risk of his job. Think of Karen's almost like the Heart Attack Grill, but instead of a Doctor Theme that promotes Obesity, it's a Karen Theme that promotes Rudeness. And yet, despite the negative themes, they don't do any ACTUAL damage, nor do they get PERSONALLY involved. The Heart Attack Grill, for instance, LETS you know that you're going to be at high risk of a heart attack before deciding to try something crazy. Whereas, Karen's lets you know at the entrance that them being rude to you is considered part of their act. And yet by the end of the day, they're both valid restaurants that go through the necessary steps to preparing your food to where it's safe to eat. The whole "picking a chip off your plate" thing may be something they may do, but at least they don't get hands-on and just grab a chunk from your plate, or bite out of your burgers. Though the mouths and words are unfiltered, their ACTIONS still have some boundaries.

That restaurant concept is perfect, just imagine you’re genuinely pissed off or you’re just mad at your boss and u can be rude to customers and they would not notice 🤣 can I work over there?
I'd prefer a restaurant where staff can express normal human reactions to unreasonable customers without it being a tourist attraction. In 11 years in hospitality, I've worked in two places like that and they were both run by the same manager that supported his staff, believed in his staff and their judgement, and was brave enough to allow them to speak their mind
If you work in hospitality, you should be nice to customers as a standard but if one of them is purposely being a cnt, I don't disagree with a treatment like here. We don't have to go from an extreme to another extreme but I think we'd agree here. It's just that so many want to "speak their mind" in these threads. No, you can't be an ahole to a regular customer if you want them to come back, unless it's a play like here
If I were to not the humor and entered this restaurant by accident, I would be toasted. But the fact that everybody In the diner have great sense of humor and played along makes this a great restaurant.
What are you talking about? The waters aren't expressing how they're feeling, it is the policy of the Restaurant Chain. And it's not the world normalizing it, the reason this Restauran chain has become successful is precisely because it's not normal. You haven't understood a thing
