@caricakes I have always been a morning person too. In high school I got up at 6AM seven days a week! Work has made me a little bit more of a sleep in person but still better in the am.
I used to be a night owl (esp during school), but I've becoming more of an early bird since I started a job in the mornings! :D I do enjoy waking up more early since it helps me w/ not feeling like i wasted my day T_T
The way you described feeling trying to get back into tennis is the way I have felt trying to get back into running after a recent hiatus. Thanks for the inspiration and reminder that it’s okay to not be starting right where you last left off. 😊
Oh gosh, I'm just home from seeing my best friend, I'm pretty drunk, have to take my makeup off... the joy and peace and calm your video has brought me is priceless. I'm so happy to be able to watch your video because it soothes my very soul. Thank you ❤ I love you 🥰
I‘m definitely a night owl. Always have been even in my school days. For some reason i‘m more productive in the evening/night. Back in my school days I always did my homework in the evening. I don‘t know why but I love it when it‘s dark outside and the quietness that comes with it☺️
I am so happy that summer weather is making the comeback, seeing so much light throughout the day definitely makes me happier. I've been a night owl my entire life, but I am trying to wake up a little earlier these days too. Hopefully the sun will make it easier 😅
im one of those people who are called silent viewers but, I'm gonna start commenting on your videos. I love your aesthetic and your videos are just so calming after a long day(even though im high school), what you have to say is just wonderful, and how your videos are structured is just so well done. like the vibes are vibing. I love your book content and that's the main reason I started following you was last year when I watched your acotar plot summery.
Both, early is for coffee a book on the porch watching the deer, rabbits, squirrels, listening to dove calls, drawing. Late night is for reading and talk shows, afternoon is for chores, sewing and a nap, but i'm retired lol! Beautiful video, i love snow but i also love flowers and baby green grass of spring, so i choose everything!😉🐩🦌🐇🐿🦋🐞🌸💮🏵🌹🥀🌺🌻🌼🌷🍦☕
20:34 I teared up when I saw this frame because this was my neighborhood when I lived in Seoul. I walked this way and saw that church every day. There's a tiny coffee shop called Peer Coffee not too much further down that street where I got my coffee to-go at least once a week. Thanks for taking us along with you, I enjoy getting to see these comforting sights once again. 💗
I relate so much to this video, especially in this moment of my life where a lot is changing and I’ m finding what works for me again. Thanks for sharing these reflections and moments of your life ♥️
I agree, 22-23° with some sunshine and a nice breeze is the perfect weather! It's nice enough to enjoy the sun, but you're not dying from heat or humidity.
I wanna learn more about filming, editing for a UA-cam channel, etc, however, I don't know what to film as the city I live in, doesn't really have any interesting or fun things to do. I'm currently editing a video for cherry blossoms that I saw. I also watched the Dead Boy Detectives on Netflix.
For the past decade or so, I've been a morning lark usually starting my day at 5am without the need for an alarm clock to wake me up. I never was a morning person, but find as we age our sleep schedules change. I hope you're enjoying the novel East of Eden by John Steinbeck. It's one of my favourite reads and I want to revisit the book in the near future.
Cari, I cannot believe your timing! I have been struggling while trying to push myself to wake up earlier to enjoy my mornings... working from home again has kind messed up my routine, but watching your vlogs always give me motivation to try again, so thank you for continuing to share a part of your daily life with us
I am suuuch a morning person! I thrive the most around 6-9 am, that’s when I am quiet and do yoga and things for my health and body. When I became a mom the kids waking up early was the best thing for me because early is when I thrive so my kids give me even MORE energy!
I'm the exact opposite - when I try to force myself to be up early and doing things during "normal people hours" I feel so sluggish and miserable. But when I just let myself follow what seems to be my body's natural rhythms and stay up all night then sleep during the early part of the day, I feel so much more content and I actually have the energy to do more things. Maybe because the rest of the world seems quieter and more peaceful while everyone else is sleeping. I'm so glad that you're finding your way back to the rhythm that works best for YOU though! I think that's what's most important, really. Learning to listen to what your brain and body need and working with that as much as you can.
Seven months of being on Instagram practically 24/7 (needing to keep up with the world so I am aware of what is happening in 🇵🇸) really messed with me because I didn’t/don’t have a job to focus my attention. Setting a once-a-week solo adventure to leave the house that doesn’t involve babysitting or the gym has been my way to waste time “correctly.” Also telling myself that if I want to look at a screen, it’s to watch a show/movie/UA-cam video that is on my watch list 👌🏼
I relate to everything you said so so much. My husband is a night owl and it has taken me years to readjust to getting up early (before moving in together, I was in bed by 9pm and up by 6/7am). It feels so good to get those hours back in the day. I realized recently I was just wasting time after 8pm because I didn't actually have energy to do anything; and like you, I have my energy in the morning, so it just makes more sense to start the day earlier and go to bed earlier. Also similarly to you, I have a very flexible work schedule, so it takes more discipline to stick to a sleep schedule. Good for you for getting back to a sleep schedule that feels best for you!
Cari, I want you to know, that your vlogs helped me pick up my old reading habits again! I finally finished a book I had dreaded for a few months because of your wonderful videos and energy. Have a lovely day filled with flowery smells and clear skies! 💖
just went through a breakup of a 15-month relationship with my ex. i needed something to focus more on the good stuff, and fortunately, my fav creator uploaded a new healing vlog~ thank you, cari!
loved this as usual!! regarding the content brainstorming, honestly I love your vlogs, they’re my favourite way of experiencing the lovely person you seem to be! love from France 🧚🏽♂️
I think it helps to have a morning routine and getting to bed around the same time every night. I try to be sleeping around 10:45, and my body naturally wakes up around 6-6:15. I think it just becomes habit in a way and when you have that routine of doing something around the same time every morning your body just knows when it's time to getup and you find yourself looking Forward to starting your day. I love getting up early at 6am
I don't know if it's the house my husband and I moved into, a bit of postpartum depression, or what, but at night when I close our curtains it makes me want to cry. So, I've been waking up early (for me). I have more sunshine to make me feel better. Hopefully I'll find a routine that will help me in the winter, too. 😭
i feel the same way about my productivity in the morning, when i get up earlier it just changes my whole day but it’s hard when ur not around other morning people! i feel like who i’m living with at the time changes my own schedule too. also seoul has such beautiful cafes you have convinced me to visit one day
i am also on a journey to reclaim my morning self; i am happier and much more productive in the morning! also i love east of eden so much - sooo many underlines!
I have phases where i can wake up super early and feel really good, like last year during winter i would wake up before 6 am and go to the gym, but lately my sleep quality has been so weird that i really struggle in the mornings. Even though i love being out and about early. Especially as summer is approaching, i'm definitely gonna try to go back to that vibe ❤
There is just something SO soothing about the plant place at around the 6 minute mark? It seems like it would be such a healing place to be at every day.
My favorite thing about being a morning person is that it allows me to be lazy. Waking up at 5/6 vs 9/10 is a four hour difference and there's so much stuff you can accomplish in 4 hours if you have the motivation/productivity. Also grocery shopping in the morning or any shopping in general means less people and you can get in and out so quick with little traffic (at least where I live) so even errands are done faster. So this allows me to finish work early or take longer breaks (aka I nap for like 1/2 hours or just lay and zone out) which means I have more of the day to be the lazy person I am at heart or just sit outside and stare into the trees lol. I also WFH though so obviously ppl who have more 9-5 in office jobs don't have the same flexibility.
My husband has to commute to Oceanside for work and one day a week I’ll take the trolley and the coaster to meet up with him when he gets off and it’s honestly my favorite day of the week because for an hour and a half I can just sit back listen to music/read/play my switch/update my reading journal and be “productive” in my personal interests.
I’m 💯 a morning person like you. It’s funny to hear you say by afternoon it’s game over- again I’m the same and often feel like I’m the only one, that that makes me lazy! I’ve learnt that it’s ok to take a bit of time in the afternoon to do low mental energy tasks and then pick things up again around 5. Loving your energy RN Carrie, it’s giving me life 😊
Cari you saved my day i needed badly a pick me up!!! Lovely sky, your new place aaah i love it,you doing errands(i have to say that Korea,Japan and other asian countries you have so much quter and beautiful colorful packaging and products no matter if its milk, candy,or youghurt,it makes me always so happy),cafes, you enjoying a book and a tasty treat makes me happy for You💖🫂🌷🌱🥑🍋🍊☕🫖🍵🥧🍩🕯📓🖋Warm hugs coming your way
I am a night person but I got myself to wake up and go to be easily by 1. getting sunlight in the morning (10 minutes on a sunny day and 20-30 on dim/cloudy) AND 2. being outside at sunset (even if it is cloudy and I can't actually see the sun set, being outside when the sun is going down really helps)
I loved this video so much. I was so good about waking up early and then after my half-marathon I’ve been sleeping in but you’ve inspired me to wake up and seize the day! Also I’m a new booktuber and have definitely learned that practice makes you better and it’s difficult learning new hobbies as you mentioned BUT it’s also rewarding and so fun! Thanks for being so inspiring!
I’ve always been an early bird and nothing feels better than waking up to a sunrise 🥹 but I struggled with my sleep schedule over the past 8 months probably and just a few weeks ago I started prioritising waking up early while also getting at least 8h of sleep 😴 Long mornings are truly life changing! On the other note… I need to get up at like 2am tomorrow, because I’m finally going to Vienna for my solo birthday trip! 🤭 My sleep might be a bit messed up, but there’s nothing an afternoon nap can’t fix 🫣
I relate to you so much, waking up early has never felt like a ‘task’ for me, it was always so easy to do. And yet even if I am a morning person and I am definitely more productive in the morning, I still feel like I get more creative in the later hours, at night. Which has been a struggle for my sleep schedule 😅
what a lovely vlog! I've def become an early bird with the change of my work schedule and it's been so much better for my mental. I love getting stuff done before 1PM it gives me a sense of satisfaction like nothing else! Even on work days when I get out later-ish time doesn't feel wasted bc I have better healthier routines in place ;; /proud
Hello Cari Cakes, when I lived in an apartment with east facing windows getting up was a chore. The light is so bright and jarring. Now that I live in an apartment with west facing windows waking up slowly is exquisite! I also purchased a auto pet food dispenser which saves me from getting up at the crack of dawn when my kitties wake up and want to hunt for food. Every morning I say a littler prayer thanking God, as I understand God for another beautiful 24 hours and I ask for a portion of grace to get me through any rough spots. Having a morning ritual makes a big difference as does west facing windows and auto pet feeder. I agree with you that 23 Celsius is the best weather.
What a nice week! I’m glad the new place is creating some ease in your routine. I’m such a night owl but sometimes wish that I was an early bird for the exercise time.
Its as if the universe is telling me to shift schedules and improve myself, in the form of Cari, such as Cari joining pilates and talking of it right around when I had been contemplating about joining, and now about waling up early in the mornings!
My tip to waking up early is to get a dog lol. I wake up at 5:30 for work and immediately take our dog out to use the bathroom and feed right after that. If I even dare to sleep in on the weekends she will stand on top of me until I wake up 😂💀
i've always been a morning person and i'm honestly so grateful for that! so much more time to get stuff done (or even just chill hehe). also, it's very nice to see you working out regularly 😊🤞i had lost my routine for a while, but recently i started getting back to it and it feels sooo nice! 🌸
I'm more of a night owl but since I have a new job - farming - I get up at six latest, during main season anyway, and somehow I love it! There's something so peaceful about mornings ...
Welcome to the morning club. I am up between 4&5 am. I like to sit in the silence and drink my coffee before everyone else wakes up. If I can I like to get everything done before noon. Specially in the summer. The best is when I am able to sit outside for my morning coffee. I love watching the sunrise. ❤ My twin is a night owl and definitely not a morning person. 😂
CHAPPELL ROAN MENTIONED 🗣️🗣️🗣️ lol i am a serious night owl and have been my whole life 😭 although recently i have developed a newfound appreciation for early mornings. i absolutely love the stillness and silence that’s different from late night stillness and quiet. it’s just the waking up and getting up part that’s hard. once i’m up it feels so good!
i was suuuch a morning person in my childhood and even into highschool. like i was always waking up super early, but now i’ve entered into college and i’ve for some reason become a person who sleeps in lol
I just loved your new video! It was so cozy and happy. I always look forward to watching it on Sunday mornings with a cup of coffee. It's the perfect way to start my day for the last five years. I'm a morning person too. It feels like a switch has been turned on and I'm awake! It's so easy to wake up in summer, but I often find myself sleep deprived because it's hard to go to bed early with the late sunsets and warm nights. I'd love to see another video of what you wore in a week. Your style is so authentic and not so trend based. Another apartment vlog, maybe trying to finish some things furniture or decoration wise.
I would love to watch a video of tips from you about how to maintain good mental health. I know you've touched upon it in your videos, but just from your perspective- how you manage on a daily basis would be very interesting! I love your vlogs, they're very cozy to watch.
As always I enjoyed my morning coffee with your vlog🩷😊 I am now more morning person because of my work, I work at cafe/bakery 🍰🍩 And yes I feel like I have more hours in my day and I get a lot of things done 😊
I’m def a night owl and i can only function properly after 11am, even when i woke up at 9am i will be just lay in bed until 11am then start the day after that e.g. do laundry, get food etc. I’m working as a freelance videographer and editor, so i don’t have a set schedule for work, but on a day that i had morning work thankfully my body just set to work e.g. 8am. On my day off and or my editing day, i start the day after 11am and keep going on until midnight sometimes more 😂
I can't believe that I've been watching your vlogs for years and next month I'm going to take my first trip to Korea🥲 I hope everything went smoothly and safely!
Your videos have inspired me a lot before, and now you gave me the motivation to get my life back together. 😁 I've been quite letargic in the past few weeks, but now I want to be more productive in a way that's good for my mental health. So thank you! Hopefully my little experiment will be as successful as yours😊
Your videos are vibing with generosity 💜 Thanks for sharing bits of your life. Such an inspiration! You are so lucky to stay in South Korea. Just only in the past 8 months, I’ve visited South Korea for Autumn, Winter & Spring! It was lovelyyyyyy ahhhh! And now I’m waiting to go back there again! For Summer perhaps? Is it too hot? 😅
@@caricakes oh, I’m from Singapore. It’s Summerrrr all year 😅 This is why when I first experienced the aircon weather in Korea & experienced the vastness and beauty of the country, I feel like I’m literally in Paradise! Poor us having just experienced an exhausting heat wave 🥵
I've spent a month trying to be an early bird for this writing group that meets in a different time zone, but like you said! I'm gonna stay up late no matter what. an incurable night owl :)
Always been an early bird. Usually feels pretty great but I do end up pretty sleepy by 8PM lol No complaints I use it as the perfect excuse to get in bed early to read.
LOVEDDDD THIS VIDEO!!! INFACT, LOVEEEE ALL YOUR VIDEOS ON THIS CHANNEL!!! I JUST LOVE HOW COMFORTING, QUIET, AND COZY YOUR VIDEOS ARE. IT'S LIKE CATCHING UP WITH A GOOD FRIEND! WHEN I GET A NOTIFICATION THAT YOU POSTED I UNEVITABLY GET A SMILE ON FACE AND THINK "I'VE GOT AGREAT EVENING AHEAD OF ME!" BECAUSE YOU ALSO DON'T JUST POST 10 MIN VIDEOS, THEY'RE A GOOD 30 MINS AND I'M. NOT. COMPLAINING. LOVE YOU, LOVE THE HOUSE!
I always LOVE when I get up early in the morning. Like you, I feel more productive and have more energy throughout the day. I know I'm a much happier person when I do get up but I find it difficult to establish the routine. How are you naturally waking up when you want to as opposed to setting an alarm?
Is it bad that I always wait until Monday to watch these? Mondays are the worst and your videos make them better. Anyways definitely a night owl. Used to work nights and I mostly loved that, but since starting a new job I've somehow managed to wake up at 7AM without wanting to die. I feel more mature now.
I'm like you I'm so much more productive and energetic in the morning, and I wake up around 6 without an alarm no matter what time I go to bed, which is nice most days but on those late nights it's a bit of a pain lol
are you an early bird or a night owl? or the elusive ~both bird~?
@caricakes I have always been a morning person too. In high school I got up at 6AM seven days a week! Work has made me a little bit more of a sleep in person but still better in the am.
Always been a morning person! If I stay in bed too late I usually get a headache 😭
I'm usually a night owl! But I've noticed I'm more of a morning bird in the warmer months!

i’m definitely a morning person but i’ve also learned that my spring/summer mornings are different from my fall/winter mornings
Abbbbsolutely! Hope i can keep this up even as it gets darker 🥲
The way you described feeling trying to get back into tennis is the way I have felt trying to get back into running after a recent hiatus. Thanks for the inspiration and reminder that it’s okay to not be starting right where you last left off. 😊
God i feel like if you take a break from running for even just a week you feel it 🥲🥲🥲
the perfect video to cheer me up over the fact that I missed the northern lights 😭
2024/2025 are supposed to be the best years to see them so that storm wasnt the last! you will definitely have another chance, dont worry :)
you might still be able to see them tonight too!
We are all mourning our missed opportunity
I’m reassured to see that everywhere around the world there are sad peeps like my sister and I who were around to see the lights just somehow didn’t.
Same! 😭

Thanks for being so inspiring!
those poppies at 8:27 took my breath away 😍
Loving your new home, cari! 🥹🫶🏼

Absolutely love early morning to have some quiet time to myself before I have to work ❤
You live such a wholesome life... it's lovely to see you experience life and you sharing it with us, is magical! Thank you ✨
Hello Cari Cakes, when I lived in an apartment with east facing windows getting up was a chore.
Kurt tries so hard to wake up eary cause he sees the benefits too but some people are just born to be night owls and only night owls 🥹
This video was the perfect mix of comforting and inspiring. Forever my favorite youtuber
That was me too! But honestly, if your body wants sleep i say let it sleep!!
@@caricakes i totally agree!!
your happy mood is infectious :) I like waking up early to get things done but when it's winter - I prefer to stay in bed where it's warm 🤣
Me too! I am a early morning person! I love to start my day early, get things done early, go out early and be back at home by early afternoon.
A huge influence is my daily walks haha it sounds silly but 30-45min walking under the shade of trees really affects me!
Hi Cari! I remembered this book when you said you were a tennis girl.
Have you read Carrie Soto is Back? I loved how vivid it described tennis.
8am. On my day off and or my editing day, i start the day after 11am and keep going on until midnight sometimes more 😂
Such a calming and relaxed video. Your home is so lovely and you look so at peace there…❤️
I can't believe that I've been watching your vlogs for years and next month I'm going to take my first trip to Korea🥲 I hope everything went smoothly and safely!
When it's sunny definitely a morning person ! When it's cold and raining prefer to be cosy x
I work an 8-5 and wfh 3 days a week and on days I get up early for 6am spin class I feel so much more productive the rest of the day. Keep at it!
Your videos have inspired me a lot before, and now you gave me the motivation to get my life back together. 😁 I've been quite letargic in the past few weeks, but now I want to be more productive in a way that's good for my mental health. So thank you! Hopefully my little experiment will be as successful as yours😊
Def a morning person. Love slow mornings. I cannot stay up late to save my life.
Cari your channel is the coziest corner on the internet!!..🥹💓
Your channel is my comfort channel 🥰🥰🥰
I relate so much cuz like I can always read romcoms, but watching is so hard! I rarely finish any romcom kdramas cuz of this.
The view from the new apartment 😍Also totally earl bird person, I like the city being quite and almost "just for me" xx
I'm a night owl but have been trying to be more of a morning person! love your vlogs - the music is always elite!
Cari, I think it would be perfect if you make another video on bookstore/museum hopping 🤗
Ohhh noted!!
I appreciate the always capturing of dogs :)
This was such a relaxing vlog & has inspired me to get into being a morning person again!! Love East of Eden hope you enjoy💕
Thank you!! And summer here is not for the weak lets just say that hahha
Always a joy to see your video at the top my feed every Sunday morning. Its my morning tea 🌻😊 (Commenting all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦)

I've spent a month trying to be an early bird for this writing group that meets in a different time zone, but like you said! I'm gonna stay up late no matter what. an incurable night owl :)
chappell roan has also been all that I can listen too
Oh my gosh I'm so happy that you know and like Chappell Roan! Her career is really going up these days!
I took your Skillshare class and it was super helpful as I plan for my UA-cam channel!
Hi Cari! It would be great to see a video of how to feel at home in a new apartment after moving 😊 greetings from Spain ❤
I think it's because ur new house is sunny and ur face got brighter cari~~~~~!
Always support you and stay healthy~~~ :)
Always been an early bird. Usually feels pretty great but I do end up pretty sleepy by 8PM lol No complaints I use it as the perfect excuse to get in bed early to read.
Lol exactly!!!
Long live the potato sack dress!!! the florida heat is here so i just bought three 🫠🫠
