I am watching you for fashion inspiration. You always look so fresh and put together in your videos (even in your jeans and t's. 😊) I love thrifting too! Great finds!
We love thrifting! I can't believe I didn't know about National Thrift Day! As soon as I am done with my chores I am gonna go and check my local thrift store. LOL
@@ourthriftyhomeschool sorry for typos. I have MS and my right fingers on my dominate hand are numb🙃. I do try to edit and fix typos but MS makes my vision a bit blurry too. Anyway great video! I miss thrifting!😢. My husband is severely allergic to perfume and scented detergent and reacted many times so I quit. Used items can be stained with smells for the very sensitive. Enjoy though! And find something good for me too😉
The lamps are an amazing find!! That Mario sweatshirt could be resold for alot. It is super cool!!! You are an awesome thrifter!!! I love watching your thrifting videos. You are kind and I love your friendly and sweet vibe. You rock!!
Thank you so much!!! 🥰 I looked the sweatshirt up on eBay and one just sold for $35! Crazy! It’s too cute though so I’ll keep it 😉 Thank you for the encouragement! You made my day! 🥰
Hunting for items on your list at thrift stores or garage sales is always fun! Also the deals and money you save is awesome too! Always fun with friends or family for a second opinion. You found so many nice items and the dress is cute on you!! 💕🇺🇸😊👍🙏🐾
Yes I've had that happen. For me it was Goodwill and I had an item that I decided not to get and was still charged for it. I'm still not over it. It's the same Goodwill that has overcharged me or tried to short change me before. So now I rarely go there and when I do, I calculate my total before I go to the register and I still check my receipt before I walk out. One time I checked my receipt and caught that they charged me for adult shoes price when it was kid shoes!! I definitely got the manager out to give me the price difference back. I hate being overcharged!
My youngest son figured out I thrifted a lot of his gifts because I would think something was new only to find out there was an issue with it. Once I bought a large roller coaster set... all the pieces were still in plastic bags, but when he and his brother went to build it, the huge instruction booklet was missing. I couldn't find it online, so I emailed the company, and they sent me a pdf of the instruction booklet. By then, the magic was gone, and they never went back to build it. Another time, I bought a gecko robot build kit as a gift, again thinking pieces were in plastic and it was like new. Turns out a big section was missing. The company sent that missing section to me, but he never went back to that project either. By then, he figured out I was getting these things while thrifting and would ask, 'Did you get this a Goodwill?' 😅 Another time, I bought a stem circuit kit, but I did not give that one as a birthday gift. Thank goodness, because the processor was bad. The company sent me a new one, and fortunately we did work with that kit many times. It was a favorite! I love thrifting, but I no longer try and pass off thrifted things as new and give as gifts because I got burned too many times. It really hurt his feelings when he got excited about the gift and it wasn't complete or whatever. I'd say 90% of his wardrobe is thrifted, though... my now college-aged son used to hate that I thrifted most of his clothes, but now loves to thrift his clothing. It's more sustainable, and you can get brand names that would be way out of budget otherwise.
This is such a good point! We have one store near us that actually checks all of their items and puts a sticked on it that says "worked when checked on....with the date" and they make sure all the game pieces are there and not if something is missing and even puzzles! I am kinda spoiled with this, so honestly I almost never buy certain things from goodwill or other thrift stores bc I know if will probably be missing something. Its definitely a risk. But....if you're careful, you can find gems. That's awesome your son in college thrifts on his own now! woohoo! way to go mama!!!
I love thrifting! Even with higher prices now at the thrift stores it's usually still cheaper than a lower quality new item from Walmart or Target. I don't think any of my kids had more than 5 new items when they were babies either from hand-me-downs or thrifting.
Went thrifting on a whim last night. Don’t often get to go bc it takes time and I have 4 littles and hubby works out of town a lot. BUT I managed to find several cute pieces to transition into fall. I’ve never been a “name brand/label” person but if I’m going to pay these current thrift store prices for used clothes, I want the good stuff 😂 Can never find shoes in size 10. Guess I gotta hit the big city for that. One day I’ll take a girls trip to some thrift stores in rich suburbs of a big city. A girl can dream 😂
Fun! I'm so glad you got to go thrifting! and yes....those stores in the suburbs can have some super nice things that more well off people donated! We used to live close to one and loved finding super nice things there basically brand new!
Thank you! 🥰 I called, but apparently the orange tags were the ones on sale, not yellow…the sign looked like it was yellow but I guess were colorblind lol 🤦♀️ I’ll bring my crayons next time to double check the colors 🤣
