Happy Place got me into reading fiction again after many years. I stumbled upon it and I just fell in love with Emily Henry and her writing. Since I’ve read that I have been reading like crazy, I’ve read all of Emily Henry’s books and explored so many more genres since. But she is still my favorite and an autobuy. I just love how she writes and I loved Happy Place!
I love your channel and have definitely left with some great recommendations! I reaaaally enjoy the way you talk about books, so eloquent and thorough with your thoughts and feelings! A big hug from Guatemala 🫶🏼
Love your content. Wish it was 12 days of Christmas all year 😆 ☺️ I always look forward to your vlogs! Working on The Will of the Many and I L O V E it.
Agree about Seven Year Slip!! Like I also enjoyed it but it’s definitely overhyped. Finally someone that shares my opinion. 😂 And I love Happy Place too!
Merry Christmas, O! ❤ This has been a great 12 days and I can’t wait for next year! 🎉 thank you for doing this! You already know how much I enjoy your content and the way you talk about each book, and I can’t wait for more book talk in 2025! Happy near year to your family!🎉
Nooooooo o I don't want bookmas to eeeeeend! Seriously though this must have been an enormous amount of work for you but truly these videos have been such a gift this season. Thank you so much!
I loved having more content form your! A variety of videos spanning so many different types! Love the way you talk about books and I have been inspired to read many books through your videos! Thanks and can’t wait to see more from you!
I really love your videos! You do a great job of conveying your thoughts, sometimes complex ones, even, while still being concise, and also keeping an entertainment factor. Congrats on making your 12 days of Bookmas! I am going to attempt it next year...I haven't decided in what capacity, yet. lol
I just started to get into reading this year and set, what i believed to be a very ambitious goal of 20 books. I always believed I hated reading so i never wanted to. Turns out, I just didnt know what I was missing. Im currently on book 51 for the year, but really, since May. The most over hyped book for me this year is tied between The Pumpkin Spice Cafe and (this is going to make someone mad) The Dead Romantics. I absolutely hated these books and forced myself to finish. The most under hyped for me would absolutely be Inheritance by Nora Roberts. I can't stop thinking about this book I found on a whim on Libby. I absolutely love it! Its about a woman who finds out her late father had a twin brother no one ever knew about. This man however, knew about them because he left almost everything he owned to her when he also passed. Including a mansion where she needed to live in (I believe for a year) before she could officially own it. This is when she realized the house is haunted and theres a very dark past about this home that she is now trying to solve. And by far, my least favorite book of the year, was The Dead Romantics. I rated this book 1 star because i hated literally everything about it. I read the Seven Year Slip and loved it so I figured I'd check out another hyped book by Ashley Poston but I might be at a hard stop on any more of her books after this one.
That's so awesome that you've discovered a love of reading this year! I'm so happy for you! Sometimes it does just take the right books to get you into it... I totally get it. 51 books is a LOT of books! I haven't read The Dead Romantics, but I have read Ashley Poston's other two books and wasn't super impressed by either... so I'm not sure I'm in a huge rush to read TDR! I've heard awesome things about Inheritance! I might have to pick it up in the new year.
@@olivesbooknook Inheritance is so good, I highly recommend. I think it's super cool too because I found out Nora Roberts is local to me. Or at least, grew up locally.
Hi, enjoy your videos! I definitely have some books to buy per your recommendations. 😊 I am kinda of curious about agatha, christie. I started that book, which was the one you mentioned, and is it a love it or hate it, author? I just couldn't get into her writing style? I dont know it just might be me? 😅
Hi, thank you! Agatha Christie I think is generally well-loved, but you gotta go into it knowing that it's not your typical modern writing style or modern mystery. Everything does feel a bit slower and more detailed - but a lot of books at that time felt that way. I think the older the book, the more it goes against the typical popcorn style, bingable modern books we're all so used to reading today. It can take a bit to get into it!
when you re-read Just for the Summer, I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend reading the first two (Part of Your World and Yours Truly) in the series before you do. You will find SO many connections and it will make it that much better to you the second time around! I absolutely loved this series. I've only read Book Lovers by Emily Henry and I'm excited to read more from her this. year.
Rocky is a GREAT answer!
I love that you speak so highly of books even if there’s good and bad to them and then toss the REALLY bad ones around 😂 I’m still cackling
Hahahaha 😆
You should do a review of 1 ⭐️ reviews for books you loved. I know everyone is doing that but I think yours would be great!
ooooh that would be really fun actually
