Hyunam-dong Bookshop is such a healing book! Especially for anyone who just feels burnout or caught up in the hamster wheel of life or feels lost. I love this genre of fiction, South Korea and Japan does it really well. I’m so glad you enjoyed it so much! I definitely need to read it again and this is the perfect time of year :)
One Dark Window sounds really fascinating! I’ve heard of it, but I find that hearing you speak on it really helps me to decide whether I want to read it or not! Thank you for this! Your channel is awesome! ❤
yay! I'm not sure if someone else mentioned it too, but I definitely remember commenting about welcome to the hyena-dong bookshop in a previous video! I love the phrase healing-fiction and it's so true of that book - im so glad you enjoyed reading it! 💞
I love how you talk about books and your reading experience! I also loved the Hyunam-Ding Bookshop…being a knitter, reader, and mega coffee drinker you can imagine the feels I got from this one!! Not sure what’s in the December book bag, hoping to get to Spinning Silver, the Matzah Ball, and wherever my wintry mood takes me! 🩷 ⛄️ 🌲 📚 ☕️ 🧶
Big surprise here, I have the exact same thoughts about One Dark Window, haha! Loved the plot, magic, world building, atmosphere, but wanted more from the characters. I’m reading book 2 now and loving it!! We’re getting more of a focus on some different characters than I expected but it’s going great so far 😊 I liked The Housemaid but not because of the writing or the characters, haha, but because it was a crazy fast paced time! I love Great Gatsby and would love to re-read it sometime! And I just added Welcome To The Hyunam-Dong Bookshop to my TBR earlier this morning from another video with a 5 star review, haha, it sounds so good and right up my alley!!
Love to see ODW getting the hype it deserves. It really isn't perfect character-wise ("I don't need rest, I need you" sir, you're overthrowing the government, please focus) but that magic system was delightful. Also, I've just realized reading books out of negative motivation is an actual thing and not just something that happened to me once when I was reading Twilight, wow.
LOL! That is every Frieda McFadden book. Very poor writing but you somehow can't put it down. I call her books my guilty pleasure and I read them when I just need something silly and fast paced. They are by no means good but are extremely readable.
I literally read One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns in 2.5 days. Couldn't stop once I started.
ur channel is so underrated! the way you talk about books, you can really tell how much you love them and reading. 🥰
I agree! Olive is one of my fave booktuber ❤
Thank you so much wow 🥹

Ooh yay! Excited to hear what you think.

Absolutely loved One Dark Window and the sequel. I think you will enjoy book two.

I felt the exact same about Verity that you felt about the Maid

We’re definitely on the same page. :) I’m excited to read book two in ODW! And I feel totally the same about the housemaid.
The Gilded Crown is a newer hyped book that’s got a magic at a cost plot. It is fantastic.
Ooh - I gotta check that one out!

The magic system really is so cool and unique, that’s why I like it so much. Dead at your comment though 😂
