I went to school with Jelani and he was literally the most popular person at AAMU and everyone loved him. This was definitely a hate crime.

This Young Man was a productive person in society that wanted to be a doctor. I believe that his death is due to foul play, someone killed him. My heart goes out to his Mother and Family Members.
Ain’t no way his body was found in the river but his belongings that he had on him was found in other places, so how is that not foul play?? He was definitely murdered, maybe followed, kidnapped, then murdered. 🙏🏽

This is so painful...Someone murdered my Wonderful, Smart and very Warm Talented Grandson 11 yrs ago...A College Graduate and Business Owner...The police said it was a suicide but if you ever met him you would know he loved life and had everything to live for...Sincere Condolences to his Mother and the entire Family...

Jelani Day deserved better. I am very disturbed on how his case was handled. I see ZERO SIGNS of an investigation when 2 girls found his clothes 😡
I’m trying to figure out why some random girls found his clothes but if the police was doing their job and did an extensive search of where a body was found they would have found it and put it in evidence
A beautiful educated black man , standing 6”2 200 pounds and avid swimmer…. He DEFINITELY did not place himself in that river!!!!!!! He was MURDERED!!!!!

Why black victims aren't talked about more heavily? I wish the country would fight for him the way they fight to solve the petito case. This mother deserve answer and Jelani deserve justice.

SOMEBODY KNOWS SOMETHING!!! Of course it’s foul play!!! My heart breaks for his mother and family! I pray they get the answers and justice Jelani deserves! It won’t give them closure, because there’s no such thing as closure in a tragedy like this! But it will give a little bit of peace. I’m looking at the police!!!….

I would be investigating the shop he was last seen because clearly it was his last place…or he was taken from there. Something happened at that shop and I pray they get to the bottom of it. He went in with no footage coming out
