Well it sounds like the neighborly thing to do would be at least to stop supporting them in their utterly horrific ongoing murder and misery spree in Yemen.. good God, that might even synchronize our moral outrage against the invasion of Ukraine, I mean it's a little out of sync it's a little laggy.. but that would at least you know just maybe not for the reasons entirely we should but, definitely would be the right thing to do.. and if the money works you know, that's usually when the right thing might end up you know getting some sort of semblance of troglodyte version of itself showing up..
That country is largely responsible for the extreme distortion of Islam that has pervaded in the modern age, and we've given them money for over half a century in order to just keep propagating it and it has been us in the butt many a Time.. as well as the entire middle East not that we care because we don't apparently.. but God I would love it if we did.. Saudi Arabia is toxic to the core, as the wahhabi section of Islam has been to Islam as a whole.. and the only reason that hyper extremist fundamentalist distortion of one of the largest faiths got so much clout is because we just kept giving them money to spread it around and legitimize it... Step one be just you know stop giving the money.. just in general, both for our actual security interests not monetary.. and then you know step two would be probably I don't know stop wholesale supporting genocide which you know we shouldn't have done in the first place should have could have would have though you know I'll take what I can get when it happens if it happens.

@@Taskandpurpose just some constructive criticism, but in your dejan beric interview I felt that your personal bias got in the way and ruined what could have been an otherwise excellent interview. If you’re going to interview someone for the reason that they show the opposite side of the coin then why act shocked and argue with the man? At that point it’s moving from an interview to a debate and adding tension and awkwardness. You did a good job asking questions but I didn’t appreciate you attacking what seemed like a very reasonable perspective to me. If you saw what he saw in Serbia would you really be a huge NATO fan? Your values and viewpoints are not universal and people on the other side of the world are not obligated to abide by them. Throughout the millennia of recorded history probably >90% of governments were what you would call “authoritarian” so you shouldn’t be shocked when you meet people who aren’t cheerleaders for western democratic values. Not every man can be a NATO “freedom fighter” at the end of the day we will always have an enemy. Also found it strange when you cashed doubt on his farthest shot. Canadian sniper hit over 1000m farther than he claimed and even a Ukrainian sniper claims a farther kill than him. Idk if you were being sarcastic but the distance wasn’t unbelievable. @@Team6OWG sorry, does the US have a security treaty with armenia like russia does or is this the dumbest 'BUTAMERICA'ism I've see yet?
The conflict started with the fall of the USSR and it is ongoing for more than 30 years with different degrees of intensity. I guess you mean the last escalation that led to the Armenia-backed Nagorno-Karabakh region losing a solid chink of their territory.
So this conflict is one more brilliant example of the Realpolitik in the world. Months earlier, after a series of US State Dept backed and organized "protests" (follow the money) and new government, led by Nikola Pashinian has been formed. That new government with talibanish vigor rushed to cut all ties with Russia - more or less following the scenario that unfolded after the the coup in Ukraine in 2014.
Now, the differences here are that Azerbaijan is tightly connected with Russia too and as well - backed by Turkey that is a historical enemy of Armenia. Another important point is the status of Nagorno-Karabakh. It has been recognized as occupied Azeri region by UN. Third, on paper is independent state - not part of Armenia, so Russia had no legal ground to interfere as Azerbaijan has not attacked Armenia, but a backed by it separatist region. In fact, the state senates of California, Maine, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Rod-Island, Louisiana, Georgia and Michigan have voted and accepted resolutions that were sent to the POTUS and the Congress to acknowledge the independence of NGR.
So, when the conflict intensified, it was in fact USA and its vassals from EU that ditched its muppet in Erevan like an used condom as the backing up Armenia would place them in conflict with Turkey (a NATO member) over a military allied with Russia country.
Two weeks later, Russia interfered by getting the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Moscow and the conflict deescalated.
Overall, this conflict is another brilliant example of the diplomatic incompetence of the latest US administrations. maybe it is time for you to reintroduce "competence" as hiring criteria with priority over skin color, gender and political alignment.
Excellent video - well written, well done B-Roll

Great unbiased and unfiltered analysis!
The Ukraine-Russia conflict being viewed as a "complicated European conflict that does not require to stand against and/or cut ties with Russia" is actually a relatively common perspective in many countries outside the Western spheres of influence; i.e. the classic "third world countries" (where first world = NATO and second world = USSR/Russia).

In many ways, India is also following the same path that the Saudis are taking: domestic interests first, international interests second. Unfortunately, too many people in the Washington Beltway don't seem to understand this, and seem to think that the world still revolves around American interests, circa pre-1991. The United States economic and energy policies need to be flexible enough to adjust when our so-called "allies" abroad have agendas that can affect the USA domestically.
Let me posit this: if Iran invaded Saudi Arabia, or Pakistan invaded India, or China invaded Taiwan or China invaded India. Who do you think these bitch ass countries would call? Themselves?? No they would call the US. That’s why these people need to learn that our interest reign supreme if their interest are even to be considered by anyone else. I think that’s largely forgotten on a lot of these countries
@@Acidfox86 That's not how it works, though. We're overly dependent on foreign oil on one hand (the Saudis) and need as many allies as possible to check mate the Chinese on the other (India). That's the problem, and, until something is done about it, we're kind of stuck,

If America and Canada would ramp up there own oil production, that would ease much of the problems with price at the pumps. Both country use mega amounts of oil,yet refuse to increase there own oil production.
It would collapse the saudi dictatorship, something the usa does not want.
And with it severely damage the arms industry. Something the usa also does not want.
And it would have no more reason to be in saudi arabia, something the usa also does not want.
Plus, north american oil is far to expensive and poluting to activly persue. Opec would lower prices, making the usa economicly uncompetitive with the rest of the world which would have massive impact on the domestic economy.
The only real way to do that would be to nationalize the oil industry so we could make sure it's used in North America before being exported. Also, most of our North American oil reserves aren't the thin "sweet" crude that the middle east has. Their oil is thinner so it's easier to refine & ours is thicker & harder to refine. Also that's not even touching on the fact we wouldn't have near enough refineries. We've slowed down or basically stopped building refineries in America for the last few decades bcuz of the environmental impact. When I a kid in the ‘70s, my family and I lived in Saudi Arabia. We were there during the Iranian revolution. Soon after it happened, one of the features that we would see on the way to the beach were anti-aircraft batteries. Socially, the government tightened down on “immoral” activity and enforced such things as shutting down stores during call to prayer, no public eating or drinking at daytime during Rhamadan and disallowing “pagan” practices like hanging Christmas lights and decorations. It’s like they were in a holier than thou contest with Iran.
Islamists from the Muslim Brotherhood moved to Saudi Arabia and hijacked much of the media and social cohesion the Saudi community.
They began what’s known as the “Sahwa Movement” which culminated in extreme social and religious conservatism and even extremism in some cases.
The government couldn’t do anything but go with the flow as it feared civil unrest by the masses.
This is why you saw many of the extremes pop up like “banning females from driving” and “religious police” and “no public eating”
The Islamists also hijacked the education programs and started distributing very extreme ideological messaging within said programs.
Eventually their power wained throughout the years and the religious police were disbanded and much of their backward taboos and effects reversed.

It's mildly amusing that us U.S. folk get our hackles up when other countries look out for themselves even though we've been doing the exact same thing since our colonial separation from Britain. The U.S.A. has updated their Facebook relationship with Saudia Arabia to "It's Complicated", meanwhile Saudi Arabia has kept that status as, "Open Relationship".
😂😂😂😂
Saudis stance seems pretty fair its main benefit is just stabilizing oil prices and repairing its economy.
Us having so much responsibility and being a central power sucks for it we can't overlook the effect, but Saudi would severely complicate its won situation if going with us
We've been doing the exact same things since the formation of the Republic by a revolution by racist sexist white men against a tyrannical government of British racist sexist white Men.
The US ... is a Constitutional Federal Republic .. created under the God of the Jews & Christians .... of, by & for ... the People of the US either by vote ( 1A) or gun (2A).
God is not a racist sexist white Man from Virginia with the last name Jefferson or Madison. The moment the Declaration of Independence was ratified ... was when non white Americans & women ... had inalienable rights .... including the right to vote for their government AND the right to bear arms in a REVOLUTION against a tyrannical government.
Every US government since 1776 ... has violated the the rights of the People of the US ... to elections and/or revolution.
The 2A has nothing to do with gun rights. It is about the People of the US ... having the right to bear arms in a REVOLUTION against a tyrannical government (eg Brits, Confederacy, the those from the Jim crow South).
Both Republicans & Democrats ... do not want well regulated People's Militia's in ever State ... policing what they are doing and with the right to remove a tyrannical government by force.
The US Constitution is only about .... GOVERNANCE ... of, by & for the People of the US .... either by vote/courts OR militia/revolution.
The 2A tells the government that it can not infringe on the right of Revolution by the People of the US ... in well regulated Militia necessary for a free state.
C'mon. It does matter what nation you are ... all People are equal and have inalienable rights to life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness ... and all governments should be of, by & for the People ... and protect these fundamental rights.
The US created the greatest system of government ever ... under the God of the Jews & Christians .... and then immediately violated the rights of the People to vote or revolution.
Allah means "god of the moon." Mohammad means "the praised one" and is only to address a pagan god. Akbar is the name of the pagan sun god. The Quran orders muslims to hate & kill non believers, especially the Jews & Christians, apostates, proselytizers and ... any Muslim you believe is a hypocrite (lol). ISIS, Taliban, ... are good & obedient Muslims. Abdullah means "slaves of Allah." Anybody ..... who insults Mohammad must be killed even if they repent ...... but ... you can insult Allah so long as you repent after 3 days. Only morons believe Islam .... is a religion that follows the
God of Abraham, Issac, & Jacob ... and is a religion of peace equally when practiced correctly. WTF? Allah promised a Heaven of endless sex with virgins so white you can see the marrow of their bones ... because pagan Arabs were racists and obsessed with white womens & sex.
So why exactly ... is the US under the God of the Jews & Christians ... forming alliances with Islamic, communist & neo-Fascist regimes that is violates the fundamental rights of every human being ... especially the right to vote ... & .... revolution?
Again. Every US government since 1776 ... has violated the the inalienable rights of the People of the US ... to life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness ... through elections or revolution.
The tyrannical governments will do what they have to to maintain their control of the People.
So there are self aware americans
What
That was excellent. I've been wondering what's been going on between the US and Saudis. Thanks 😊
Before or after 9 of them flew planes into the trade towers?
Small thing you missed,
The Saudi government has had complete ownership of the largest oil refinery in the United States, which is Motiva’s refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, since May 2017.
As well as major oil industry everywhere including Canada.
Stfu bro let them think we don’t profit from their oil aswell
Jokes aside this doesn’t mean Saudi had more control over the oil since it’s on US soil
And they say money doesn't corrupt ?! Haha 😂😂
Like Bruce Wayne with his tech and batsuits, you keep improving your channel.
Awesome channel -- came for the Ukraine coverage, but your analysis on other issues is well researched and spot on
The ghost of kiev is real. Russia is scary and our news corporations have our best interests at heart.
Let's get back to work and not worry
Don't be deceived he paints USA in a bright light which is not at all true
Correction at 2:36 the war was not with Iran. But with Egypt and Syria
Good job with the videos.. Just, please note that it is called the Persian Gulf and no other names, and this is according to any reliable source. Much respect.
i mean i cant blame them for acting in self interest
Funding alcaida not acceptable. It to forget genocide in Yemen
@@yj9032 Its not a genocide though. Houthis could stop the war but they are still trying to attack and take over merib.
Why not? Purely acting out of self interest is a pretty got indicator for being a prick.
@@aLurchi3 All countries are pricks then
Fun fact: OPEC does this fairly regularly letting their cronies (including in the US of course) and themselves profit a lot from these manufactured wobbles in prices. It also gives opec countries a diplomatic pressure tool of course which is how they used it this time, but it's not something new or special they've done just for Russia
The US of course?? I don't know where you get your information from buddy or what country you're from, but the Sally's can't be trusted by us and we never trusted them. They will screw you over in a heartbeat
Absolutely nothing to do with using it as a diplomatic pressure tool. It was 100% strictly an economic decision. Oil prices are lower now than they were when the cut was made. It was obvious oil demand was gonna go down and the cut was necessary to stabilize the price.
You don’t thing the non western world coming together, dropping the dollar, trading in their own currencies is new?? Okey dokey👍🏻🙃
@@burningphoneixell this to the stupid guy on the vid
So? The US is using economic warfare against others all the time.
Have you ever heard the phrase "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"?
Well this is it
Which is fine - its a staple of diplomatic discourse. But excuse the rest of us when we laugh our ass off at the US's constant pronouncements of moral superiority over anyone else int he world. Like ...just ..stop pretending
Lol title made me chuckle
As somebody who remembers the oil embargo of the 70’s. Very good vid Cappy
I really wish the US would do something about its horrific human rights problems. The largest prison population in the world. Poorly trained police that shoots civilians at an alarming rate. Racism. Keeping indigenous population in concentration camps called "indian reserves"... it would raise the US standing in the world if they invested as much in human rights at home as it does in "geopolitical" wars around the world. Really.
Excellent!
Casually gonna ignore the $400m in aid we gave to Ukraine and that we gave back the Grom 2 ballistic missile launchers we bought from them a few years ago
OP really needs to work on his effort to pronounce names properly and not just "Americanize" it to his ease
@@user-ml6jb8hr4i fr, bro really said "saw di arabia"

I wonder where we went off track
"To be an enemy of the US is dangerous, but to be a friend is fatal". Maybe some countries are learning.
Good sound bite. Makes you sound witty. (Even though it’s not your quote)
But fundamentally bollocks.
@@TesterAnimal1 Notice the quotation marks? That means it's a quote. I also think it's fundamentally bullocks to, except with certain specific cases.
@@TesterAnimal1 Hardly bollocks considering the US has essentially betrayed the Kurds to the Turks and abandoned the Afghans to the mercy of the Taliban. The US is no different from Saudi Arabia or Russia, China or Tukrey. They are your friend so long as you are useful to them in some way. Which brings us back to the whole realpolitik point.
@@TesterAnimal1 It's fundamentally true. There's not an agreement or treaty, the US hasn't violated.
The war consisted of two phases the first was codenamed Operation Desert Shield (2 August 1990 - 17 January 1991) for operations leading to the buildup of troops and defense of Saudi Arabia. And the second was Operation Desert Storm (17 January 1991 - 28 February 1991) was the combat phase.
and then they happily bombed Iraq for a decade every time they needed to wag some dead dog for the press while the CIA was happily protecting their asset Osama and his friends... 😬
Both operations were aimed at liberating Kuwait not defending Saudi

2:35 “Iran and Egypt” it was Jordan, Syria and Egypt, the Iranians had nothing to do with that conflict
this guy makes mistakes often. I have watched some of his other videos.
Ironically, Israel had great relations with Iran at the time - both feared Arab powers. Things turned sour w/Iran only during 1978.
@@gabrielslater2739 the guy makes a lot of mistakes in his "documentaries". I watched his other videos too.
I love when you say Saudi Arabia and US's relation is Realpolitik where as Saudi Arabia and Russia's relationship is because they are authoritarian regime. Countries are friends with other countries because of own interest. Thats all !
Exactly. It has nothing to do with America invading, bombing or toppling multiple neighboring country's governments. They just hate freedom. ✊
Also the US has no friends but just interests too
Yeees. That’s what realpolitik means.
good job
Very simple. A buy-side price controls is an anathema to oil producers. All of them.
