@83rdox Keep trying to find excuses to plot holes. The sea under it is 112 meters deep, no elevations at all on the floor. If Godzilla were to stand there he'd have only his head out of water.
@83rdox The water beneath the bay and beyond it is 115 meters /377 ft at its deepest point. The Golden Gate Bridge is 746 ft tall and the clearence is at 220 ft above water. At 2:00 you can see that Godzilla's head is way higher than the suspended cables that reach to his belly and the distance between his head and his belly would be 145 ft. To make that shot accurate Godzilla would need to stand at 891 ft tall and he is officially stated to stand at only 355 ft tall. Taking into account the depth of the water Godzilla's head would barely be able to rise above the water
At 1:49, Godzilla is a very good boy. He’s protecting the people and The Golden Gate from those missiles, which is gonna be destroyed anyways...Sad life
God, I love Gareth Edward's directing in this movie. Every shot of this feels like the cameraman was on the bridge, on the bus or on the boats. Would it have been more dynamic with sweeping and aerial shots, maybe, but this approach feels so much more *real*.
You may already know this, but Edwards deliberately shot this movie so that the camera is never in a place where a camera couldn’t logically be (with a couple necessary exceptions, I imagine). So you’re basically spot on!
Here after Legacy of Monsters and boy the fact that most of those school kids fell to their deaths in this scene was shocking for me because I always thought movies and Tv shows were always big softies when it came to killing off children.
I freaking love the shot at 2:40. Godzilla is literally chasing his natural counter (for those who don't know, the EMPs of the MUTOs are draining Godzilla dry throughout the whole movie, making him a lot weaker than he normally would be) while getting attacked by humans, but he powers through the bridge and roars in rage while also looking incredibly tired (from his lowered shoulders and his very unnatural posture)
ItzMike how , king of the monsters is way better then this movie, I mean let’s face it godzilla onLy killed two monsters that weren’t strong I. This movie, but in king of the monsters, Godzilla meets his nemesis and this time he fights him with his wife mothra and we just found out that their are more monsters in king of the monsters.
This movie did SUCH a good job of conveying just how big Godzilla is, and how he's this absolute force of nature. The visuals and the sound design are incredible too. Watching with headphones on takes me back to 2014 watching it in IMAX and just being in awe of Godzilla and the MUTOs

best of the 4 legendary movies hands down. the shots in this scene are perfection. Godzilla X Kong is a 2 hour rollercoaster ride while this is a proper film
This scene is genius incorporating the bus driver and students reactions. It actually makes the reality of something as big as Godzilla a really scary experience.
The fact that Godzilla is smart enough to trick them into thinking that he's smaller using his tail is one of the thing that makes him terrifying. Idk how the human technology got a buff after this. In this movie, they have pretty normal realistic tech and military stuff, then a few years later they can control animals, another few years later they have basically levitating space crafts that can withstand going to the center of the Earth... Making the movie FULLY science fiction!
I know that Godzilla movies tend to be very unrealistic, and I love them because of that, but that's funny because it's true... Something similar happened to Showā Era. They begun with a normal post-WWII world, and ended with aliens and big kaijus from space. The Heisei era had a (kinda) reasonable explanation for the tech being so advanced (reverse engineering tech from the future that got lost in the past). I don't really know about Super X tho Millennium era was straight some case of bipolarity: Sometimes it was set in our real world, and sometimes it went full Power Rangers Monsterverse's futuristic tech somehow popped up from somewhere lmao
@@Minillus indeed. Godzilla movies do be going crazy once in a while. But Shin tho... Not really canon but made by the same director. Shin went from realistic military and government to full on anime, Evangelion, and outerdimensional alien space monster.

Yeah, I don't think Rides are specially canon tho And I think that craziness is what makes Godzilla movies a lot fun to watch What's incredible about this franchise is that is very flexible, because it has a lot of differente tones that are still good to watch
That isn't actually a sound Godzilla is making voluntarily. It's the sound of so much air around him being displaced considerably quickly by his immense size.
And what's even more wild is if you closely look at the VERY MOMENT Godzilla collided with the Golden State Bridge, you can see those exact same buses. So, whether or not it was intentional they were going to do a TV show when the Monsterverse first started with Godzilla 2014. The roots were planted for the eventual TV show that is now on Apple TV+
I love that genuine panic from the kids at 2:25. it's like they showed them something really terrifying for shooting then digitally inserted Godzilla. epic.
I love this movie. there is a bunch of scary parts to me. I love when the muto is walking by the train tracks and they are laying down next to it. such a great film
0:50 the fact that it was just the end of his tail really showed just how massive he was. The depiction of Godzilla being a Titan beast was done really well in this movie.
Only because he was being hella shot at though. And that's a major difference between him and Ghidorah; Ghidorah actively destroys ships with sadistic glee, whereas Godzilla goes under\around them other than this instance because he was just reacting to being attacked like, "hey, stop doing that!" haha
El Tio Asmodai Actually it was due to the shells hitting Godzilla in his gills which are apparently his weak point. If they hit anywhere else he wouldn’t be fazed.

Godzilla : stand tall. See water at its knee level.
Also godzilla : **dive in head first**
Able to submerge almost entire length of its body
Kolas Who cares? Movie logic. Its badass. Enjoy it and move on 😂
@@MilqueChocolate Ik, I'm not complaining, I'm just disproving that dude's logic. This whole scene couldn't happen if he only had his head out lol

That really true

Gooner 4 Why godzilla destroy bridge >:3
He still killed hundreds of soldiers and other civilians
God, I love Gareth Edward's directing in this movie.
Every shot of this feels like the cameraman was on the bridge, on the bus or on the boats.
Would it have been more dynamic with sweeping and aerial shots, maybe, but this approach feels so much more *real*.
You may already know this, but Edwards deliberately shot this movie so that the camera is never in a place where a camera couldn’t logically be (with a couple necessary exceptions, I imagine). So you’re basically spot on!

The bus driver is a hero, he helps the student escape
He is a hero saving the kids
He probably forgot he was driving kids.

This movie did SUCH a good job of conveying just how big Godzilla is, and how he's this absolute force of nature. The visuals and the sound design are incredible too. Watching with headphones on takes me back to 2014 watching it in IMAX and just being in awe of Godzilla and the MUTOs

2:40 yep
I don't really know about Super X tho
Millennium era was straight some case of bipolarity: Sometimes it was set in our real world, and sometimes it went full Power Rangers
Monsterverse's futuristic tech somehow popped up from somewhere lmao
@@Minillus indeed. Godzilla movies do be going crazy once in a while.
But Shin tho... Not really canon but made by the same director. Shin went from realistic military and government to full on anime, Evangelion, and outerdimensional alien space monster.

the little “bellow” at the start that made the kids shut up was satisfying, and the sound at 1:52 when he rises up and everything’s quiet is badass.
That isn't actually a sound Godzilla is making voluntarily. It's the sound of so much air around him being displaced considerably quickly by his immense size.

Monarch - Legacy of Monsters took me back here. this scene was wild. damn
