This is the most underrated youtube video ever. Those of us in this resin game truley appreciate the value of this experiment!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your comment. I think some people forget that youtubers like me do these videos to help people. But the vast majority of my subscribers are fantastic and really supportive. Thanks for watching 🌸
You can say that again!!
Thanks! You just saved me a lot of experiments and resin!
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching 🌸
Thank you for doing this, I'm a lot more confident trying to make a DIY mold now. 💙
You’re welcome. Good luck and keep on trying.
Brilliant! Thank you somuch! I've been pondering what to use to make layers with and it hit me to search UA-cam! There you were with the perfect answer! Thank you! 🙏💖🌹
I love how you are like “Yesss!!” This is fun and checking this out so I know what I can use to do different resin shapes - however the challenge is keeping it in place without a mold!! I just wish we could see the texture on each better but well done!!
Yay! Thank you!
Thank God, someone finally did this for us resin users, your the best, thanks for all the time you spent doing this.
My pleasure 😊
I have been using wax paper. My resin finish when dried has not been sometimes cloudy. I have been trying to fix that and found another experiment using wax paper versus black plastic garbage bags. While both products released the resin, a blob just like yours, the one that come off the wax paper was cloudy versus the one off the black plastic was clear. He showed the two pieces side by side on a piece of newspaper so you could see the difference. In my projects, I use clear so I would advise others not to use wax paper when looking for a clear finish. I did further research after I saw this and apparently, wax and resin do not mix! I tried to buff it off with an electric buffer and car polish, it did not work.
Only shiny makes for shiny results with resin. Trash bags work though
Thank you thank you so much for this video I’m new to resin and this was so helpful now I can move mi pieces from the mold and have them finish cure on heavy thick plastic or the wax paper when I need to use the mold again quickly thank you so much💕💕💕
Aww.. thank you for making this video!
Very usefull! Also I love how enthousiastic and in a good mood you are❤
Thank you so much!🌸
Holy wah! I needed this video, just started working with resin. Thank you!
Thanks... really appreciate your efforts . Very informative video for beginners like me.
Thank you!!! This is extremely helpful

Excellent! Exactly what I was looking for
Thanks a lot! You saved me a lot of time & material ❤️
Extremely helpful, thank you.
It was SO HELPFUL ! THANKS
Extremely useful helpful video👍👌
Your video summed up visually tonnes of answers I was looking for. Thank you
I’m so happy it helped. Resin can be tricky and I’m always experimenting. Thank you so much for watching 🌸
Thank you for taking the time to share.
CHECK!!
Dina Cotten you’re welcome. Thanks for watching 🌸
So funny I use shower curtain on my work table. Aluminum foil gets very hot while curing so it fuses to the resin .
Thank you for the experiment👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻♥️
You are so welcome!
I needed to see this! Thanks 🙏🏽
This video was soooo helpful THANK YOU!!!
I wish you did that in clear resin so we could see what the surface looked like after peeling. But thank you!
Great Demo, Thanks 😊
Thank you so much!! Exactly what i was looking for!!
Glad I could help!
Wooowwwww this was so helpful. I’m gonna make a huge mold for a table centerpiece and I was wondering what I could put the silicon mold on!! Thank you!
GirlRikki Thanks so much. I find it very frustrating sometimes trying to figure out how todo something. Thanks for watching 🌸
Thank you so much for the video. Was looking for something like this 😀
Parnika you’re welcome. Thanks for watching 🌸
Thank you! for making this video.
You’re so welcome. Thank you so much 🌸
Great work and very much appreciated. One thing I might add as a consideration when pouring resin for a bowl, is the firmer the plastic base the harder to shape the bowl. In other words, using the black garbage bag verses thicker plastic, you will notice the limitations of shaping the pour. Thick is harder to shape, thin is easier to shape. However, if you want a bigger bowl the thick plastic is better, more firm to hold the shape. Also any thing you use will need to be much bigger than your pour because of gravity. Good luck on your bowl pouring , they are beautiful and very unique projects.
Thank you so much.
Thank you for making this informative video 👏🏽👍🏽
You are so welcome. Thank you for watching 🌸
Thank you!!
Thankyou, I needed this video...
heidi smith you’re welcome. Thank you for watching 🌸
Your video helped a lot. I'm making a little desktop green house themed night light and the windows have to be perfect I accidentally glued the first one to my release Surface so thank you for this video
Thanks for this great video.
You’re welcome ☺️
Great tip . Thank you

Thaaaaaaaaankkkkkk uuuuuu for thisssssss
Thanks for sharing this! I'm really enjoy watching the process & what a lovely attitude you showed, "check" 👍😊🥳
Thank you so much 🌸
May I ask how to prevent the resin from yellowing? Especially the transparent one.
@@ge973 the only way I have learned over the years is to buy professional resin. It’s expensive but doesn’t yellow. I started out learning with cheap resin (obviously nothing I sold) but it was a good way to begin. Now I am a professional artist it matters that my resin is UV safe. It’s the light that yellows resin. If you are serious about selling your art as a professional you will have to spend money on expensive resin. I am still using different brands because the bubbles drive me crazy in some. I cannot recommend any right now because they are all constantly changing their formula. If I were to pick one it would be Naked Fusion
@@JulesMadisonArtByDesign Thank you so much for your precious advice, Jules! 💓💖 I got it 👌👍 😇 That's why your works are so professionally beautiful & you're always be respected, thanks again!!!
Thanks for this video I was doing research to find out if my plastic wrap will work I used it over a cookie cutter but there are some creases in it so I will see.
max powers you’re welcome. Thanks for watching 🌸
I haven’t done resin yet but doing my research first. Found this video useful but wish you had used clear resin instead to see how clear the pieces come out. I think I want to try shiny side of freezer paper, parchment and a silicone mat as well and see how that works. I’m looking for a shiny smooth backside for the pieces I want to do. Actually was looking for a video for tapes that work other than the resin tape to stick wire and open bezels to and found this video first.
its not heavy plastic sheathing its polyethylene. Other thing is tho you used white epoxy should use clear and see if it still stays crystal clear and what your using. Wax paper can make it slightly cloudy. The covering can effect the clearness of the epoxy. I use the big leaf garbage bags. Can cut into halves or quarters.
Thank you
Thank you for posting this. Have you tried thin plastic table clothes you use for parties and such?
kroonstark I haven’t, but shower curtains are great and I’m sure they will work like those. The downside is that they are not shiny so the resin won’t be shiny unless you use a shiny table cloth. Thank you for watching 🌸
you are the Best thank you so much 💞
You are welcome and thank you so much!
THANKS soooo helpful!
Glad it helped!
Do they make such a thing as a really flexible thin (so I could form it over a bowl) silicon sheet type product? I've used the Saran wrap and had problems with not being able to get it off too. I had made a freeform type rectangular "dish" and unfortunately I can't get the wrap out of the corners of the dish. I know there's got to be something out there 🤷♀️ but I'm still really new at this and don't even know what to look for. I really appreciate you doing this experiment for us! Thanks a bunch!
Thank you for that one🥰 I should have looked at this before I did my tryout with the aluminum foil now I have them in 2 different sculptures and can't yet it out 🤭
You’re welcome 😊
Have you been able to take it out yet? And if so how cause I’m stuck too
So in which thing should i do resin work so that it will become nice work like we do on silicone mold
Nice video... 👍👍
Thanks Sam🌸
Thank u for this video
The Stamps you’re welcome 😊
Will acrylic sheet stick to the epoxy resin
I had made a resin sculptor using a vinyl clear shower liner. When partially cured, tried to peal it off, it was stuck so badly had to throw it away. Everything I read, states vinyl will not stick to resin, not sure why mine did.
Does the resin come off from soft silicon phone cases on pending it? I want to make a phone case cover with glitter work on it. What do I do
Would of bin real helpful to know what resin your using i.e.. polyester, epoxy, vinylester rtc.
You might try the non-stick foil and see if it will come off. I have not found anything that sticks to it.
Cool 😎 I will give it a go. Thanks and thanks for watching Lois 🌸
Thanks so much
You are so welcome. Thank you for your comment 🌸
@@JulesMadisonArtByDesign no problem
Thank you so much for this!
I shaped some free form resin bowls and used waxed paper, but the paper ended up sticking badly, which I hadn’t expected. Do you have any ideas on getting it off easily?
You could try heating it up in the microwave for 30 seconds? I've not used wax paper for this method before. Good luck
What type of resin epoxy or polyester?
I'm curious what the results using UV resin would be? Thanks for this experiment!
Allison Rosen is a crafty girl you’re welcome 🌸
You’re so cute :) thank u for making this video ;)
Thank you so much. I try to please 😁🌸
good job cuz this is the exact kind of video I was looking for and it's so helpful , also not any useless conversation just straight to the point. I like the saran cuz it's easy to form and manuver but u say it can sometimes get stuck inside from wrinkles? Should I pass or just make sure there's no wrinkles?
Thank you so much. I have a similar video coming up soon on resin experiments. 🌸
what resin did you use
Great experiment! I need the opposite. Anyway to make the resin stick to ABS plastic?
Glue probably
❤️
is this epoxy resin?
I just want to ask if epoxy resin will stick to glass. I am planning to use it on the base of my aquarium instead of glass. My aquarium is big enough that the silicon sealant can't handle the pressure.
Yes it absolutely will. Just check that your brand is not toxic to fish.
This video save me
3:31 wax paper didnt work for me !!! Am trying now to sand my work
Thank you this is very informative. Is that resin or epoxy ?
It’s an epoxy resin. Mixed equal t. Thanks for watching 🌼
Hey,so I made a resin bowl and I used thin plastic but it isn’t coming off easily and resin is hard but yet to cure, any advice on how to get the plastic off?
Thin plastic is not great with resin. You can try putting it in the freezer for a few hours.
@@JulesMadisonArtByDesign Alright,thanks a lot! :)
Will resin stick to ceramic tile..??
gourdhead22 yes and it’s not coming off
The heavy duty tin foil works, but it still wouldn't be my first choice for projects.
Epoxy resin ?
Yes it’s all epoxy resin. Thank you so much for watching 🌸
This goes for epoxy too?
kyra j Resin is Epoxy.
@@JulesMadisonArtByDesign lol I probably said it wrong but its resin you use for uv and epoxy? See I learn something new
kyra j I didn’t test it for UV but it’s probably the same result.
I expected an Aclyric in the experiment
Nice ❤
Glad you like it😁🌸
This is really a very good experiment 👍👍 Thank you 😊❤️
