One of the greatest TD that had incorporated past mechanics and made them more enjoyable is Tower Battles as they created maps with paths as well as challenges to get special skins/units where you have to use barricades or other buildings in order to lead the enemies to a longer path creating difficulty as well as allowing people to create various strategies to beat maps.

ASTD is the best anime tower defense game. I love the character animations, specially those from cut scenes. The way that even you, a nobody can reach lb just by grinding and being good. I still remember how thrilling it is as onr wrong move/time stop/timing/abilities can ruin your 2hrs lb run with other members. Also, when the trading system first came out. I got a lot of good stuffs since there's no unit value yet haha. My issue with other atd games is to name specifically from AA where no one talks in the lobby. There's no skills required. Only pay2win gets to have the leaderboard. The animations are meh, though it is what others wants. Let me ask you casual players of AA. What's the end goal after acquiring all those meta units that u want that you spent days for? It's not like you can do lb run as you dont have uniques. New update then replace unit and repeat? What i like about AA is that the powerspike is not that huge. Countless updates and some older units can still somewhat hold itself. The maps are amazing, specially with good graphics.

Honestly I love Tower Defense games on Roblox. I remember playing all the way back in 2017 Tower Battles and battling in every event up to now, then I played during the beginning of Tower Defense Simulator’s release, before the first ever event. Then I saw the gem and the great grandfather of all of those shitty anime TD games, All Star Tower Defense, I loved ASTD.. still the best anime tower defense game in my opinion (it’s getting a whole rewrite btw). Afterwards I played Tower Blitz, despite being discontinued it was one of the best Tower Defense games I’ve ever played; played that on release too back when the starter tower was Conscript, and I MUST SAY… Overlord was the best TD boss fight for its time, the intro, the theme; everything. I sadly kind of quit most TD games until TDX came out, peak of all TD games. (I quit most games except for TDS and TDX, TBZ will be forever missed in my memory since it got discontinued for a cashgrab called Evade.) The few TD games I disliked, AA was meh for me, and STD is.. well.. brainrot for little toddlers. And I won’t even talk about the trillion of anime tower defense games that are just copy-pastas after copy-pastas of AA.

It's sad that people like a gambling casino like astd. It is literally so scummy and all the other td games follow this gambling system. Td games shouldn't be based on pulls and rng as the power creep can be very big and the game may just be boring or too difficult.

Insanely rare traits that can basically be bought with robux. Really rare units in events in order to farm more premium benefits. Finally monetization everywhere

Tower Battles actually released in 2017, not 2011. The roblox place was made in 2011.
Every game after astd is plagued with trait, stats and .5 mythics and .01 secret units f2p in most modern tower defenses is impossible, good video btw
