@@IvyWivyy5 once i got past row 4 the wavyness stopped being an issue, i hope it stays like this (i also was crocheting quite loose, idk what's wrong).
it's still not flat by default but if i smooth it out it lays pretty flat. i might have to try ironing or blocking it.
i think the problem is the weird math with the increases. for a flat dc project in the round you should do 12 increases per round, but this tutorial does 20 in one round, and zero the next. idk man but i already tried to work out the math myself to get 12 increases per row but i gave up bc it wasnt working out right.

For those of you struggling with the bottom part, I did it like this and had the right amount of stitches at the end:
Count 57 stitches from the "heart valley stitch" in both directions and mark the 57th stitch. This will be your starting point.
Row 1 (RS): Ch1, sc dec, hdc, (2x dc, dc inc) x3, 40dc, 4dc together, ch1 and fasten off
    Row 2 (WS): Ch2, 42 dc, 3 hdc, 2 sc, slip stitch
Row 3 (RS): Ch1, turn, sc dec, hdc, dc, 3x dc inc, 36 dc, 4 dc together, ch1, fasten off
    Row 4 (WS): ch2, 36dc, 2hdc, sc, Slip stitch
Row 5 (RS): ch1, turn, sc dec, hdc, dc, 3x dc inc, 27 dc, 4dc together (skip last stitch), ch1 and fasten off
    Row 6 (WS): ch2, 27dc, 2hdc, sc, Slip stitch
Row 7 (RS): ch1, turn, sc dec, hdc, dc, 3x dc inc, 18dc, 4 dc together (skip last stitch), ch1, fasten off
    Row 8 (WS): Ch2, 18dc, 2hdc, sc, Slip stitch
Row 9 (RS): ch1, turn, sc dec, hdc, dc, 3x dc Inc, 10dc, 4dc together (skip last stitch), ch1, fasten off
    Row 10 (WS): Ch2, 10dc, 2hdc, sc, slip stitch
Row 11 (RS): ch1, turn, sc dec, hdc, dc inc, 5 dc in one stitch, 6dc together, chain 1, fasten off
For the bottom part on the right hand side of the heart, repeat, but keep in mind that whether a row is RS or WS is now switched.

    • @Tuepfely
      @Tuepfely Рік тому +6

@@x_precious_xYeah sure no problem :) if you read the some of the comments here, you'll notice that people had uneven stitch counts on the bottom parts. That's why I think it's key to count from the heart valley and adjust the size of the bottom part from that point, instead of counting from the slip stitch points. Even if you made a mistake before / have trouble seeing where your slip stitch sits, you'll get even corners :) hope that helps

@@human_287 If you want the hole bigger you need to count how many stitches she made in row 3 or 4, Chain that many stitches, connected them in the round and than continue with next row
So for example if you find that row 3 has 56 stitches (wich it doesn't i'm pretty sure) you chain 56, connect them and than continue as in row 4.

I love this pattern and I can't wait to finish it. But, I'm struggling on round two and I'm not sure why. I'm following the directions perfectly, I even went as far as writing it out first so I was 100% certain I was following it right. On round two, after I increase the 7 times, I'm only ending up with 7 stitches instead of 8 before my stitch marker. Like I said, I wrote the pattern out, have counted the stitches, and am perfectly fine until after these increases.
If anyone has any ideas or help, it'd be greatly appreciated ❤
    Edit a year+ later:
If you’re having the same issue as I did, please read the replies! There are several issues that we managed to work out in there, I hope they’re clear enough and able to help you. Unfortunately I gave up on this sweater a few months after starting it, no matter what I did (different yarns, different sized crochet hooks, different tensions, even went so far as to modifying the pattern, washing and blocking) I couldn’t get the finished “heart” portion of the project to look correct. I’m not sure if this is was a pattern error or just me, but I hope your sweater comes out successful regardless! Good luck everyone

Ive used this pattern 3 times now and it always comes out great but every single time, on both the front and the back panel, there's one bottom corner that just does not match up to the tutorial. When I get to the last row there's still way too many stitches to work into. It's so weird because I follow the pattern exactly. My first attempt at the pattern, I figured it's beginners mistake and I missed something. But now it's 3 times, on 6 panels 🥴 and honestly it doesn't matter really bc I just improvise and then when I sew everything together it's not noticeable. But I just wonder if this happens to anyone else
EDIT: I have made the sweater 2 more times since I left this comment and it no longer happens LOL but I truly don't know what the problem was to start with. Anyway just keep trying!

same thing with me - what I found best was to keep repeating rows 4-5 until I had the same amount of stitches she had for row 11! which was about 12 stitches.

    • @Tuepfely
      @Tuepfely Рік тому
