I mostly remember Daisy as a fun-loving and fearless girl without many worries about social customs. Winterbourne was attracted to her but not enough to risk his social standing. And they had bad communication between each other. I would like for you to review Washington Square and Portrait of a Lady.

I read “Daisy Miller” only about a year ago. It was enjoyable but surprisingly short. Having previously read his full length novel “The Wings of the Dove”, I was anticipating a more developed plot.
Several decades later, in “The Custom of the Country”, James’ very good friend Edith Wharton more fully develops this theme of the cultural clash of the entrenched European aristocracy and newly minted millionaires of American industry in the late 19th C. You would probably enjoy reading it.

Thanks, Mary. The Custom of the Country is one of the few books by Edith Wharton that I haven't read yet. I'll make sure to correct that!

Juan, your channel is so enriching! I thoroughly enjoy your videos as we share similar tastes in literature. I'm thrilled to see you include such a variety of writers and, a fellow polyglot myself, I love your mutilingual reviews. Por favour, s'il vous plaît, bitte, ti prego... please do a bookshelf tour soon. I see your books in the background and I just want to dive into them! Curious to know what's on the shelves. Gracias xxx

Thank you very much, Catherine! I have been asked to do a bookshelf tour before. I had to get rid of most of my book collection a few years ago, and my current collection doesn't match the old one yet. That is the main reason I have been holding back on doing a bookshelf tour. But I would like to do one at some point.
