But .. in all HUMILITY I would APPRECIATE KNOWING if the Poor Parents in their Miserable Old Age have to be sent to Home for the Aged , since Sons after their Marriage are ADVISED to live with their Wife AWAY From their Parents ?? Shaykh al-Islam [Ibn Taymiyah] said in Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 32/194: Whoever thinks of increasing his daughter’s mahr and asking for more than the daughters of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) were given - when they were the best women in this world in all aspects - is an ignorant fool. The same applies to asking for more than the Mothers of the Believers were given. This applies even if one is well off and can afford it. With regard to one who is poor, he should not give a mahr greater than he can afford to pay without any hardship.
High mehr is frowned upon . The Ahadith are explicitly clear on this. In addition, commoditizing your daughter like a product bought and sold will likely lead to the man treating her as such.

“The wife’s money is her money and the husband’s money is both their money” is a lie spread by certain compassionate imams like Nouman Ali Khan. As long as the husband is providing for her rights, she cannot take a single penny without his permission. She can only take it if he’s not providing for her and she must only take what is sufficient for her needs to be met. The ruling is taken from this Hadith: Hind bint ‘Utba said, Oh Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Abu Sufyan is a miser and he does not give me what is sufficient for me and my children. Can I take of his property without his knowledge?” The prophet (ﷺ) said, “Take what is sufficient for you and your children, and the amount should be just and reasonable. And if he’s not providing for her, there’s even a difference of opinion amongst scholars about whether she needs to go to a qadhi first or she can just take the money.
I am not happy or comfort with my mother in law she is so arrogant. But my husband is the only son and he has 3 sisters. And my husband likes me to live in his house. In this situation what can i do ? do i have the right to get separate home ?
