It's fun watching Pete. Other player: Hits Blue: "Brilliant! Obviously an experienced player with lots of talent." Hits Green: "Fantastic! He obviously understands the deep strategy of the game." Hits Pete: "What an idiot! Must have never played the game before. Dumbest person on Steam!" So entertaining. 🤣🤣🤣
“Yellow is overly aggressive”- meanwhile throws away amazing board position and turn the whole board against by being overly aggressive 😂 Great game to watch lots of action.
Twice yesterday in the same game I hit a cap that I had 2x troops on and lost everything only killing maybe half their troops, then they hit mine with a 1:1, we both had 1100 troops and they win and I die. So frustrating that when I attack with 2x I lose everything and they attack and go even on me
1:1 at larger numbers should almost never happen. It happens with such frequency that you have to wonder if any attention is being paid to that even being a problem.
10:25 I assume purple cleans out the rest of the east, and then you'll be the only place to go through, except that small gap by black. Wild. 11:33, Green? Magenta? Oh Pete. the colors all blend together I assume having played so much. 22:22 what a turn. 25:30 he wins a 4v4? Yellow! 27:50 I think I'm going to call it hear, it's a long one we'll be back later to check it out.
1:08:05 I think their whole game plan revolved around holding Russia, so when saw they saw the one and a half trades worth stack, there were like “what do I do now” On another note, what do you think of a semi-official term for saying how many troops there are in the context of how much the sets are worth? Maybe you could say 200 troops when the trades are worth 100 is a 2 TAT (Trade Adjusted Troops) stack or a 6 card stack
I loved this match but I def think SMG needs to resolve the point system. People who prioritize kills are penalized in the ranking system which just seems to not really make sense. Winning first vs getting 3+ kills seems a tad unbalanced because the priority then becomes survivability only rather then a balancing system. It wouldn't be that complicated of a system to develop either.
Yeah, ranking system would definitely be way better if it incorporated bounties. That not only rewards stronger players that deserve it, but it promotes action. If people are more incentivized to make kills then stalemates become less likely.
You can see just before Pete said that that yellow's dice display in the bottom of the screen quickly went from 1 die to 2 dice to 3 dice without attacking in between. That's an indication of yellow adjusting the slider.
I think caps games like this show how easily you can pretty much guarantee second just by playing very cautiously. Encourages passive players in my opinion
Yeah you pretty much are if you can wait it out ... unless at 3 players the other 2 decide to cardblock you for being so passive. Definitely at least 3rd, but you're right if the other players hit each other expect better.
I think he was just pointing out that it's the unfortunate state of the game that bot-out can sometimes be strategically optimal, not that he condones it. If he actually condoned it he would have botted out, but he didn't. I can't for the life of me figure out why the game devs thought it was a good idea to allow botted out players to place higher than people who stick around. A bot-out should be treated the same as conceding the game and should rank the player at the lowest remaining spot.
This is an hour and a half long. Without having watched past 12 minutes, I have to say I think you did jinx yourself Pete. Edit: you definately jinxed yourself.
The heading should have been how to blow a winning position. lol I've notice that you play quite differently in your matches against your peers as opposed to perceived "Noobs". You seem to have much more patience against "good" players and don't over extend early. I think you need to realize the effect you have had in improving the quality of play of new players and show them more respect in their strategies going forward.

Turns out I needed black to be on my side or play to win so stealing his kill pissed him off enough to feed the win
@@FreePeteto be fair you instantly went into black after the yellow kill. I think that made him more angry then the kill steal imo

Really enjoy these meta videos. Have won a few if there isn’t a master in the lobby.

Yellow a big believer in color theory I see
Edit: nvm he just hits bonuses indiscriminately

At 5:18 you notice that Yellow is using slider. My question is how do you know that?

Correct

Great game pete as always 👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Once again, I'm convinced that you're guaranteed at least the second spot if you just cap stack and don't mess with anyone.
Pretty sure that’s why caps is how you rank up the easiest
Sounds like a pretty garbage ranking system if true

yeah it's not good
