My favorite part of the shark tale shrek double video cart is that some insane new storage system had to be developed where items were compressed and then burned into a physical 3d matrix of points. Scientific breakthroughs all for the sake of shark tale shrek.

Fun fact: There is someone in my area who owns the computer Super Mario Bros. So packed with incredible functionality, it's so well made, it even has a damn GPS option when you want to get to a specific section/work of art. To my knowledge the Louvre still has those 3DS to this very day. You can still rent a 3ds with the Louvre game at the Louvre. It’s a neat thing and great if you’re bringing kids with you who couldn’t give less of a shit about old art. Also it tracks where you are in the Louvre on a little interactive map. Such a neat piece of technology :)

I never stopped to think about this until now, but I guess the reason the japanese market loves golf games so much is because real golf courses demand a LOT of land, which they don't have the luxury to waste like that by being an archipelago, so they compensate with these games. Another awesome video as always, keep up the good work!
Yeah that lack of land also created a prestigious air to golf in japan because to play 18 holes at a medicore japanes course is about the same cost as 5 star course in europe or north america
I think a greater factor would honestly just be Japan's general geography. It's not only an archipelago, but it's incredibly mountainous and hilly (something not very conducive to creating golf courses).
Something I noticed about the 64DD is that Nintendo never seems to reference it nowadays. In fact I think Master Quest on the Gamecube might have been the last time they ever did. I get the feeling NCL considers it a major embarrassment internally.

Earthbound, Dragon Quests IV, V, and VI for the Nintendo DS, Wild Arms Alter F Code, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Conkers Bad Fur Day for the N64, Super Mario 3D All Stars, and Wolfenstein 2009 are the most prized games in my game library Scott.
i'm from Brazil, the story behind this version of Street Fighter 2 on the Sega Master System is pretty amazing, the effort that "Tectoy" (the producer of the Sega games on Brazil) put in the development of this game is something pretty unusual, cuz the Megadrive (Genesis in US) is launched in Brazil in 1990, and this game comes for the Master System in the Saturn lifespan in 1997, cuz here in Brazil game stuff is really overpriced, so then people used to keep their consoles over 2 to 3 console generations, like me that had a SNES in the PS2/Cube/Xbox lifespan, so we used to skip from like PS2 to PS4😂😂😂, now the average people have more access to the modern generations after 2 years of it's launching, but even though the console prices here are something like 3 times the monthly average payment of every people, so we receive 1200 Moneys and the console price is like 4000 Moneys. In the US the average payment is 1500 to 2000 Moneys, and the consoles are like 500 Moneys, is very hard to collect here in Brazil! Here's my 2 cents, the game Horizon Chase Turbo had a physical release here and its massive, it's not like the Limited Run from US, is a very common and cheap game here, but goes with a high price in the US Ebay. (Horizon Chase Turbo is a Game produced by Brazillians) Here in Brazil it is about 50 Moneys (the equivalent to 10 US Dolars), so if the version with a letter L in a small green box in the front cover (the Brazilian version) goes for more than 20 bucks it is really overpriced! Here the games launch with a price off 250 to 350 Moneys, but this one launch price is 50 Moneys (way to cheap)
yeah shit like tech taxes seem like they make it impossible to get stuff, yall get fucked over. also did not know horizon chase turbo had any sort of following! i played it a bit cuz it was free on epic games a while back and its pretty fun but thats really cool of them to sell it for that price.
@@gamagama69 Some big Brazilian retail stores, equivalent to the US Walmart and Best Buy, the Livraria Saraiva and Lojas Americanas stores of Brazil make a massive advertising campaign about the game being produced by Brazilian people, emphasizing the low launch price, that it's 1/5 of the price of a regular launch (Horizon Chase Turbo is a 50$$$ game and the regular launches in PS4 are 250$$$ or more) to us is a proud that a PS4 game developed in our country had such massive PHYSICAL launch and with a very attractive price, and then when i look at some US UA-cam collectors that buyed the Brazilian version of the game i become even more proud. Fun fact: I actually live in Porto Alegre, the city where the Game developers are from, and in the game they launched one update with one track that it's in Porto Alegre, so when i played that track i see many city references like some buildings and stuff like that and even the Soccer Stadium of my soccer team, Sport Club Internacional (this stadium was one of the stadiums of the FIFA 2014 World Cup). For the US people it's a normal thing seeing places, and cities from all over the country in videogames, cuz you people are the guys who made it massively, alongside the Japanese guys, but for me, seeing a game from my country (and from my city) is something that i'm really proud of 😢😃

I also think that the Xbox crowd have a replacement culture, when the new stuff comes out throw out the old sorta thing, and Xbox backwards compat kinda encourages that nowadays, whereas Nintendo fans and Sony fans (who are really just Nintendo fans that jumped ship) have a history they love going back to, so they like collecting more than Xbox crowd does, just a theory but I think it's right for the most part
It really is a shame movies and series never got the DS/3DS treatment, just imagine some terrible 3d movies like My BloodValentine 3D on a 3DS cartridge, or hell, some of those decent animated movies that got good 3d like How to Train Your Dragon, or the Lego movie, on 3ds! Would've been so niche but so cool
Honestly, there's no shame in keeping the physical copy of the Louvre virtual tour sealed. Sealed copies are only going to get rarer, and while nothing would be lost from opening it, it'd be interesting to see how long you can go without needing to open it

Futurama: The Game is one I've been trying to get my hands on for so long, and seeing it in this video cemented the fact I will never be able to own this game.
The rarest games I own is the Sonic Adventure 2 birthday pack. The game itself is also sealed but sadly I don’t have the music CD to complete the package. Really cool thing to have especially from that era

The Super Mario Bros Special game is for the NEC PC-8801mkII. Most likely later models would be able to run the game. PC-88s are cheap and easy to come by on eBay and Japanese auction sites, but many are in non-working condition. LGR did some in depth videos on the PC-88.

Was fortunate enough to get Unwritten Tales 2, sealed for $5 at Gamestop in late 2016. Got Devils Third, opened for $30. Highlights of my complete Wii U collection
Its always fun to see stuff being rare somewhere, when its dirt cheap somewhere else. Like... I got Futurama for XBOX for around 20 bucks just recently, so it was probably even cheaper before the whole pandemic. Just because I live in Germany instead of the US. Sadly, it also goes the other way around. Some games are expensive here and cheap in the US ^^
29:43 as a ps2 collector, i kinda rectified the video quality by getting the generation 1 PS3, and with an HDMI it upscales to 720/1080p just from original hardware. Only problem is that the ps3 is like, slightly less heavy then an OG xbox, so take it as you will
The rarest games i own are: Persona Q2 Shin megami tensei soul hackers for 3DS (i have the arragement music disc) Paper mario the thousand year door Zelda twilight princess HD with the amiibo I guess wind waker HD is also becoming rare And nothing else

I also think that the Xbox crowd have a replacement culture, when the new stuff comes out throw out the old sorta thing, and Xbox backwards compat kinda encourages that nowadays, whereas Nintendo fans and Sony fans (who are really just Nintendo fans that jumped ship) have a history they love going back to, so they like collecting more than Xbox crowd does, just a theory but I think it's right for the most part
resident evil on saturn was how i first experienced it. recently sold my copy because no saturn anymore. still good memories of it.
There were downloadable videos on the 3DS, but the catalog was very limited: Professor Layton was the only real movie available there.
Honestly, there's no shame in keeping the physical copy of the Louvre virtual tour sealed. Sealed copies are only going to get rarer, and while nothing would be lost from opening it, it'd be interesting to see how long you can go without needing to open it
i love how you use the word ‘need’ here, as if him opening his louvre virtual museum copy is gonna save his life or something and that’s the only reason to open it.
@@sylvy16 You never know when that day might come
The Shrek and Shark Tale cartridge is the largest GBA cartridge.
Cool seeing the Pokémon Mini actually getting talked about for once!
So awesome to see the gameplay clips too, loving this channel
scott reading out literal translations of untranslatable japanese idioms is my new favorite thing
I didn't know this channel existed, I'm this showed up in my recommended! Time to watch so many more episodes
Really cool thing to have especially from that era
thank you Scott for the recap of this year's "Burglar 101"
This guy is so good.
A true content producing pro-
And he was born 4 years before 911.
Rare to see someone that young with that much self awareness 👌
Nice partial haiku
I’ll never be able to view Scott’s “carpet” the same ever again
I can't believe Scott spoiled that the Louvre is in Europe for me
Ikr. I thought it was in France.
Bloody fantastic, really enjoyed watching!
I am happy to own a vectrex from my grandparents house. You’re right, it’s probably one of my favorite consoles to play to just feel like you’re playing a thing of the past.
This is what it’s like to go on a date with Scott
Scott does it again, recording a video on the carpet table
The Super Mario Bros Special game is for the NEC PC-8801mkII. Most likely later models would be able to run the game. PC-88s are cheap and easy to come by on eBay and Japanese auction sites, but many are in non-working condition. LGR did some in depth videos on the PC-88.
Devils Third is severely underrated. Such a fun game.
In a strange twist, Virtual Boy games are some of the most valuable games ever made by Nintendo. I wonder if that keeps them up.
If Nintendo gave people things to make them shut up, they'd port Mother 3
Great Rare pieces! I hope I can get Atari Karts, Resident Evil on the Saturn, and Jack Bros. someday. Here are probably my rarest games.
10. Earthbound (Snes)
9. Revelations Persona Cib (PS1)
8. Pocky and Rocky 2 (Snes)
7. Magic Knight Rayearth Cib (Saturn)
6. Rule of Rose Cib (PS2)
5. Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire Cib (PC Engine Arcade game)
4. Kuon Cib (PS2)
3. Lucienne’s Quest Cib (3DO)
2. Snatcher Cib (Sega Cd)
1. Panzer Dragoon Saga Cib (Saturn)
I love this, and I'd love to see more.
Thanks Scott, very cool
Hi Tetra
I'm his favorite console and you AREN'T.
I'm surprised there was no, " but my rarest game by far... is Sonic 2 with a line", at the end there
Feels so weird seeing the Louve here. I actually have 1 copy myself bought from the Louve because I thought it was ridiculous, that the Louve had an video game. It's even more ridiculous seeing at an high price on eBay 😂
I love stuff like this! You showcasing these obscure, rare games is super entertaining
"When we went on road trips I needed entertainment... Portable DVD player, Game Boy..."
Ah you youngins, when I was a kid we had the window!
I'm high and heard Scott say "Crystal Castles" and soon after then imagined a Crystal Castles tour where Scott sings and plays the instrumentals.
I have the Louvre Guide, I got it at a supermarket for 5€ at the time, I'm suprised to heard of it's value ! I remember when the partership between the Louvre and Nintendo was announced, I thought it was so cool and so I had take the guide the minute I saw it
I never understood how futurama the game, is so rare in other places. I live in Australia and it is one of the most common games for the PS2 and xbox here. I own two copies of the PS2 version , and everyone i knew growing up had a copy aswell
Yep it's only rare in the US where it didn't get much of a widespread release
@@catethps that sucks! It's like persona 4. In the US I think it's fairly easy find. But here it was like super anoyying to get. I paid $140 for a pal copy
Thanks for making these videos Scott! Absolutely love them!
Gold on the N64DD is truly one of the games of all time
The Louvre STILL has the rentable 3DS consoles (as of July 2023)
My favorite Master System game is the China Everdrive clone from Ali-Express. I put Sydney Hunter on it. I also converted the Master System version to GBA and Flashed that to a GBA Everdrive X5 mini and play on my Consolized GBA in Pixel mode. Great game!!!!
I love looking at the dude who owns sonic jams rarest games
love these chill videos man
16:43 "sloppy, outdated, misguided, M rated" my man is dropping bars
Scott, sarcastically: Yeah, THAT Bentley Bear!
Me, an avid GG fan who's brain power is 85% Danny quotes: GET THE GEMS BENTLEY BEAR
lol when he showed devil third I thought no germs
Was fortunate enough to get Unwritten Tales 2, sealed for $5 at Gamestop in late 2016. Got Devils Third, opened for $30. Highlights of my complete Wii U collection
Its always fun to see stuff being rare somewhere, when its dirt cheap somewhere else. Like... I got Futurama for XBOX for around 20 bucks just recently, so it was probably even cheaper before the whole pandemic. Just because I live in Germany instead of the US. Sadly, it also goes the other way around. Some games are expensive here and cheap in the US ^^
Aw man. No Sonic 2 with a line?
Need a full video on that Doshin the Giant sequel thing
29:43 as a ps2 collector, i kinda rectified the video quality by getting the generation 1 PS3, and with an HDMI it upscales to 720/1080p just from original hardware. Only problem is that the ps3 is like, slightly less heavy then an OG xbox, so take it as you will
The rarest games i own are:
Persona Q2
Shin megami tensei soul hackers for 3DS (i have the arragement music disc)
Paper mario the thousand year door
Zelda twilight princess HD with the amiibo
I guess wind waker HD is also becoming rare
And nothing else
We have all the amiibo folders still in stores here in NZ, but they are 50NZD each
