The Birth of Prince William (1982)

- On 21 June, Prince William was born at St Mary's Hospital in London. After being in labour for 16 hours and looked after by George Pinker, the Queen's own surgeon gynaecologist, Diana, Princess of Wales gave birth to Prince William at 09.03pm. He weighed 7lb 1oz - or 2.65 kg.
This report was filmed the following morning. Beginning with the arrival at St Mary's of Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, the report also shows visits from both parent's families including Diana's mother, Frances Shand Kydd, Diana's father, the 8th Earl Spencer, and Queen Elizabeth II. Prince Charles came out and told ITN that Diana was "very well", meanwhile Prince William was "in excellent form". Then, after returning inside, both Charles and Diana emerged with baby William to pose for the cameras on the hospital steps, before getting into a car to go home with their newborn son and heir.

Princess Diana’s mother looks absolutely radiant! I love the two grandmothers visiting! I love how over the moon Earl John Spencer was over Prince William’s birth! 🍼
Poor Diana deserved so much more.
He did too. They got what they wanted both at the end.
@@dusanpetrovic1181 What are you talking about? Diana didnt get to enjoy her live to fullest as she died at just 36.
@@MissMarceline-wp6oq She wanted the limelight and she got it. Unfortunately playing with fire doesn’t always end well. But the above post was correct, they both got what they wanted.
@@ruthhogg6423que horror que poca empatía con lo que hicieron sufrir a Diana 😢😢
I just love how happy and proud the late Earl Spencer spoke about his new grandchild! 🥰🥰🥰
Earl Spencer was horrible man. He always abused on Diana and made her insecure about herself.
I am too! Darling how excited he was!
This was the ‘80s, we didn’t need no stinkin’ car seats 😂

Still miss her… What a huge loss to our world, but especially for her beloved boys, William and Harry. RIP Diana.. You should have been Queen Consort. 💔💔💔
She is in the hearts of those who loved her
A royal baby! I love how so many members of the family visited! Everyone looking so dashing! Proper England! The big bottle of champagne for the best celebration of all! 🎉
Oh what a beautifull and happy day that was! Charles was so happy and really he just all along look at the little prince! Prince Charles at that time was o erwelmed. He was as happy as a father of a new baby can be, he really was very proud and happy. Even in the roof of the hospital they sc reamed. It's a boy it's a boy. Somebody asked him when the next one will appear. Charles said give a chP a change please! Good for him. Msy God bless him and his 2 sons. And may princess Diana rest in peace! Love Forever!!❤❤ ⭐️⭐️⭐️🙏🙏🙏

He didn't look happy at all, actually.
He looked unhappy.
No warmth at all, like an empty shell.

Its amazing and kinda adorable how the Earl Spencer is so ecstatic over being the grandfather to the future king and now that future king’s oldest son resembles the Earl Spencer when he was a young boy.
Watching this 41 years later
The king is very funny
The POW seemed a bit shell shocked to me!
He said super baby lol
Still remember that.
Amazing to see what the population was like then!!! How things have changed 🙁.
A proper England. How well dressed everyone was. Proper rain, proper coppers.
20/20 in hindsight. Diana gave them everything.
Did they even care?
Without “them” Diana would have been a nothing. Remember that.
@@ruthhogg6423 Princess Diana was never “nothing”
@@pameladunn7785 She absolutely was, she was in the Royal Family but very much on the fringe. Nobody would have known her name if she hadn’t married Charles. It is well documented that she grew up wanting to marry a Prince, and I don’t actually think she cared which one, so she got her wish.Her Prince and the limelight.
@@ruthhogg6423 wow. What a hater. Nobody is a nothing person.

what a pity...! tragic end
King Charles is a good father and loves his both sons
That must have been the best moment in the world for prince Charles at the time and the beautiful princess of Wales and after this gave the world Prince Harry they must have been happy some of the time.✌✌✌✌✌🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I think we'd all be fine if Harry was given back to his family, the world does not need him
Diana said they had fleeting moments of happiness before Harry was born.
~~~~~~
I read Charles was sympathetic at first but became irritated and disgusted by Diana's bulimia and other self-destructive behaviors. Especially since she refused professional help. By 1984 Charles was turned off by the smell of vomit and the conflict in the marriage. Both Diana and Charles were miserable by 1985. They informally separated in 1986. Unfortunately the toxicity continued until the divorce. Have you heard of the War of the Wales?
She was always happiest when she was with her children.
Funny to see them riding in a station wagon!
Poor Diana! She was surrounded by monsters! What a family, mama, papa and husband! Unlucky girl.
You are parroting Her side of the story. She had every privilege in the world and threw it all away for her lovers!
Rosemary baby
Well. Well. That was a bore. Charlie 3 looked a wally but who the fock advised him to snuggle up to his bunch of papers. Poor Di looked miserable but who would blame her?
Why did Charles hair look ginger here?
He doesn't look toooo over the moon about the birth , his mind was on someone else ....!
How can you be so blind and naive? He is obviously very very happy!
I still dont get he married diana,why? And to make things worse hed leave diana alone for periods of time spending as much time as he could with his granny
It was an arranged marriage and not a love match. Diana and her family wanted her to marry well and catching Charles was as well as it gets. It was Diana's childhood dream to marry Charles.
Charles had dated lots of women including 24 potential brides from aristocratic families trying to find a bride that met the royal family marriage criteria and the queen's approval. In 1980, Charles proposed to two and was turned down. They were running out of options, and Diana appeared to meet the criteria. Charles's proposal was a job offer in the royal family hierarchical organization.
~~~~~~
They didn't really know each other before the wedding. They were not compatible. Both needed and failed to be the supportive person the other one needed. Diana had mental issues caused by her unhappy childhood that contributed to the conflict in the marriage. Their relationship became increasingly toxic, and both were miserable by 1985. There was a lot wrong. Being unfaithful wasn't their biggest problem. The toxicity continued until the divorce in 1996.
Charles ended his intimate relationship with Diana in 1986 when he learned Diana was involved and in love with her bodyguard, Barry Mannakee. Charles wanted a divorce. Diana didn't. The queen pressured Charles to stay married for the sake of appearances.
They informally separated in 1986. Charles renewed his intimate relationship with Camilla in 1986. Diana and Charles officially separated in 1992. Diana had 8 or more affairs between 1985 and 1996. She admitted she had an affair with James Hewitt starting in 1986. She usually denied her affairs but she couldn't deny her affair with Hewitt because his first book about their affair was published in 1994.
The marriage was a tragic mistake.
@@karlamccullough5319👏 very well said. I get sick of people putting Saint Diana on a pedestal. This is also why William & Kate champion mental health as Diana had mental health problems stemming from childhood not from being married to Charles.
@@TheNOGGS
Me too.
Sir John Batten, the queen's physician, believed Diana had borderline personality disorder (BPD). There are articles and books written about Diana's mental health.
@@karlamccullough5319 She definitely did and I think Harry also has MH problems.
@TheNOGGS
I agree. Diana had most of the traits and symptoms of BPD. I did some research.
The symptoms of BPD:
Fear of abandonment. People with BPD are often terrified of being abandoned or left alone. ...
Unstable relationships. ...
Unclear or shifting self-image. ...
Impulsive, self-destructive behaviors. ...
Self-harm. ...
Extreme emotional swings. ...
Chronic feelings of emptiness. ...
Explosive anger.
~~~~~
BPD is thought to be caused by childhood trauma and genetic factors.
Diana was traumatized by her parents toxic marriage and divorce.
Diana's mother left when Diana was age 6. She was emotionally neglected, Diana talked about her unhappy childhood. She said she felt unwanted and unloved. Diana was
heartbroken and depressed at a young age and suffered from depression, low self-esteem, and self-destructive behaviors including bulimia before she started seeing Charles in 1980. Diana's mother was considered to be high strung and easily upset. Batten was concerned that Diana's children could inherit the genetic factors. Diana's sister Sarah also had an eating disorder. Mentally healthy people don't have eating disorders.
World famous beauty doll. Queen of Royal's .. but didn't get a pure faithful caring and adorable heartfelt husband .
Just he needed two Prince of Royal's..... Poor beauty Doll.
Don't forget that Diana cheated first. Just go back and look at her last interviews where she admitted this.
