- When Noble Automotive stopped production of the M12 and it's hardcore variant the M400, fans of this insanely fast car were disappointed. In 2007 Rossion came to the rescue and purchased the rights to the car. Weighing in at about 2500lbs and fitted with a 450hp Twin Turbo Ford V6, the Rossion Q1 has been known to hang with the fastest of supercars. New to their lineup is the RP120, a stripped down racecar powered by a tuned Ford 2.0L Ecoboost engine.
The Downshift appears every other Tuesday on the Motor Trend channel.

Thanks for the great feedback! Everyone works extremely hard, and it's really rewarding when our viewers notice.
This is great Motor Trend. I like when you give inside looks at start-up car companies such as this and Lucra and some others. I thoroughly enjoyed it thank you
thank you, you are the first youtube commenter that doesnt get offended by anything I say or ask in months
Looks like an mr2 just gettin out of state prision ...lol
4:52 Highway Ramp suspension tuning, LOL!!! .. I thought I was the only one who did that, LOL!!! There are some great ramps out there, closet thing to a real racetrack!!
Awesome video. I love people who work like this, putting their passion into their product. Great deal of respect to them.
That's great to hear! We'll keep doing what we're doing and we hope you'll keep sending your feedback!
Glad you liked it!
I love the Rossion Q1 because it is a refined Noble M400 and Lee Noble was/is one of the best automotive designers. Major respect for him.
Skidpad DOES measure handling. What is handling? How well a car goes through a turn. Skidpad tells you how much speed a car can carry through a turn. Europeans love to talk about their great handling cars until they get beat by an American car, then say we don't know how to measure it, but fail to provide an alternative method.
It's a poorly managed company and it's a shame that the past and present owners failed to see the true potential of the car....that's what happens when the clowns try to run the circus.
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching!
Man I would love to test drive one of these on a track. I love Mid-ship awesome mobiles
Beautiful car, engineering. I wanna take one on the track. The exhaust could sound alittle nicer tho.
Honored to have seen one of these on the road
one of the best downshift episodes ever..I can't wait to get my hands on a q1
I love the stories on this show. I especially like getting some history on where and what people were doing before they feel into what they're doing now; even better when what they're doing now is the automotive world itself
Its great to see a sports car developer that doesn't tout its development on the Nurburgring and actually showed concern of it being a street car.
To whomever does motortrend video editing/music. Beautiful. Job well done
That's damn impressive for a track car to perform that well in the lateral and weigh almost exactly 2000 lbs wet.
4:55 so these guys did things that were illegal and risked going to jail to build a better car. These guys take it to a whole new level of dedication
just wow, it reminds me of a ferrari 458 with a bit of lotus evora. Thanks guys
I've been in one of these and know some of the people that developed the car. It is a very good daily driver that cam take on the track and do great things. The 3.0 is a built bottom end mondeo v6 with twin t28s. Its mostly ford parts and the 2.0 is all focust st parts.
The big manufacturers like Ferrari, Lambo, ect, have forgotten about or dont care about the enthusiasts any more. they build driving simulators. Its left to companies like this. Well done. Nice car, nice execution.
the sound of the twin turbos spinning up is almost harmonic to say the least
I liked that they kept the same look as the Noble
I could really tell they enjoy what they are are doing. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! What else would you like to see?
Thanks Michael. Awesome car!
Alright then, that sorts it out. :) One thing I Iike about these small car manufacturers is that it is so easy to have contact with and have a close relationship to.
I work for Gotham Dream Cars , and this car is my fav car to drive to customers ...
im like two minutes in and loving this vid already nice !! good jobs
WOW, that car has to be a beast. Power to weight must be under 2 kilos/hp , that's sick!
First a Noble, then a Rossion, now a Ford gt.
Damn that engine sounds like a straight out beast
They cleaned up the lines, the car looks good.
Inside looks at cars most people don't know about. Just thought of this, maybe an in depth look at the Arial atom. That car is facinating, many people havn't heard of it and the company is small. Please!
Palm beach international reaceway! I've driven by Rossion's shop a few times its fairly close to my house.
The Q1 3.0L twin turbo, now with 500hp for 2013 models starts at $98,000 The RP120-R with the 2.0L EcoBoost 323hp is $79,000 ready to race with all safety gear included including fire suppression system, AiM Pista Digital Dash and Data Acquisition system, Quaife LSD, dry sump system, AP Racing brakes, Fuel Safe bladdered fuel cell. We have a couple Q1s in stock, RP120s are selling fast, currently 8 weeks out on new orders.
I want one of these cars so badly!
wow... gimme a couple years then... and yes, I want the radio!
love the sound of the turbo!!! esp. with that raw and rough exhaust bark and burble.
Manufacturers aren't responsible for MPG figures, that is the EPA. So it is consistent among different cars, while not necessarily consistent with real world conditions.
Alright, but I've read some review about America's corvette and it seems to be on track to become something. I've also heard good things about Rossion Q1 improvements. So if people have to have the M400 it is good to see a company continueing production of it.
Florida Represent!
Can't believe Noble stopped making these cars. They were fantastic. Glad a "shed" company is continuing the cause.
i wish it wasn't a kit, I love the look of it.
Too bad the company went to the shitter. Poorly managed by the former owner and CEO he was nothing more than a glamourized paper pushing know-it-all.The new management isn't any better either. Bought out by someone who wouldn't a car from a dolly. I feel bad because the Q1 had tons of potential but poor management, poor advertising and lack of pure vision is going(or already has)put the Rossion as another great American Supercar in the endangered species list just like the Mosler MT900.
+Byg Syxx Please don't say it's so I love the Q1 and want more cars like this from Rossion
+Lockedoutofaccount Their showroom floor has been empty all year. They have one person handling customer support for all current Q1 owners. The factory is also for sale!
Byg Syxx
a section based on imported tuned cars, like from Europe or Japan doing 1/4mille or 1/8mille timeattack or rallycross, or home or imported tuned superbikes
Worlds fastest car show looks promising, looking forward to see it
cheers, from Guatemala
What's the song playing in the beginning when they are first showing beauty shots of the red car??
Thanks!!
In Q1 it's 3l V6 and in RP120 is 2.0 straight 4. But we really need to get more details on both of them!
Thank god imma own one of these next month
loved it on forza, first time not seeing it on a video game, loved it. want it :D
Great looking car. Reminds me of the TVR Sagaris...
What is the soundtrack at the beginning? Awesome video by the way, more downshifts please! :D
Very cool, I still have yet to drive a mid-ship engine vehicle.
i like the old external design of the Noble M14 better , though the new mechanical design is much more improved
I kind of agree with you. Not the 90's part, but it looks very, very similar to the old Ferrari 360 Modenas.
no nasty surprise proper sized garret turbos mean this things spools fast, and if your driving it spirited than you will most likely be at the top of the rpm range already well into boost all the time. the only time turbos bite is when they come on full boost one or two thousand rpm away from redline like allot of the single turbo cars.
I never mentioned engine performance. The reason a Lotus Elise is fast on a track is because of good LATERAL ACCELERATION. It doesn't go faster than other cars down the straight, it goes faster than other cars THROUGH TURNS. This is something that can be measured by lateral acceleration, AKA, SKIDPAD.
love everything about the guys and their vision, brilliant stuff. My only grip is, (has to be one, this is the youtube comments section right? lol) the engine. I m sure the new Eco boost engines are fantastic, and due to being supercharched and turbocharged offer tons of possibilities, but i can't help feeling the new Ford V8's, massaged and tuned, would have been a better choice. They are compact and light and love to rev. Would sound better that's for sure. Just my 2 cents.
Alright, now lets see how these two do on the track next to to both of Lucra's offerings!
I saw a Consulier in the back! @ 5:42 the silber one
When it debuts, coverage of the new SSC Tuatara would be awesome.
Now that the trolls are through, Noble-born or not, this is a pretty sweet car. I'd own one.
is it just me or is Motor Trends videos getting more HD every day? 0.0
i would love one of those
The 2.0L EcoBoost in the RP120-R puts out 323hp/305lb-ft of torque at 2500rpm.
The current Noble still builds the M600 with a V8.
These cars by Rossion are based on the models from the original Noble company.
Great project though. I hope Rossion is going to be a succes.
3:39 Porsche 918 spyder front
4:03 Jaguar S-type "old" back
I recently drove a friends N54 BMW 335i and i was surprised at how little lag there was, almost none... i mean the response is very linear all through the rev range resembling N/A power delivery.. spooky.
Thanks for the Video
richard hammond will be driving one of this in Top Gear at some point.
We have ABS, and traction control available as options if you need it..
Florida represent
I love how the Rp120 s powered by the Ford 2.0L ecoboost XD
Besides from the Hyundai sonata rear lights, an amazing piece o engineering !
When he started talking about car with helps not being about ... well, driving anymore, i had a thought for my little car, with no ABS or ESP, or even... power steering :D
thanks for the info.
These cars are sweet.
Look like you guys were at Palm Beach International Raceway. Something is telling me you're talking about Bee line Highway :D 5:00
So cool! Straight up car none of the stupid fancy stuff that makes the car too heavy. Is this sold in the U.S. and where is it made?
Try your best to make a RP120 from the Q1. Beast of a car!
Actually, LS motors are very compact & light weight. I've seen LS motors dropped in Miatas & RX-7s with minimal work. With a good cam, intake, exhaust & tune the LS7 can easily make 100 more HP. The LS7 is a very efficient engine. GM is just conservative. That's why we have an aftermarket.
It would be interesting to have a RP with the engine of the Q1
Additionally, it is only me who is posting the facts. I have posted that lateral acceleration directly relates to the velocity of a car going through a specific diameter turn. It is simply a physical fact, yet you keep trying to say you can't measure a cars performance in a corner.
To the guy saying Americans have not built a super car, the corvette zr1 is classified as a super car. Americans have hyper car the SSC Aero. Which held a land speed record. I believe to be classified as a super car it had to achieve a fast enough 0-60 and hit 200 mph. Technology has nothing to do with it. Plenty of super cars are bare bones analog everything no a/c, no power anything. No antilock brakes or power steering, no radio and no clock.
Sounds like a hoot to drive!
So if a twin turbo Duratec 3.0L can fit in there, I wonder if a the SHO's 3.5 EcoBoost could be shoehorned in there? Those things are making over 500 crank hp with just a tune, meth, intake and exhaust. I know it would be heavier, but would be nice for the road going Q1, especially since Ford has essentially discontinued the 3.0L Duratec.
The Tuatara was scheduled for 2013. Last time I checked, we are still in 2013. Again, you don't like to use facts.
The Venom GT has sold several. 5+ cars a year. That is more than Koenigsegg did a year with their CC8S AND CCR. Again, Koenigsegg sold about 1 car a year for 7 years. So we have a very solid start. Koenigsegg only sells about 10 cars a year now.
Not just American reviewer hype, read your own Euro mags as well. They love them. BTW, our own mags are generally Euro biased anyways.
My dream car. Beautiful ❤️
That eco boost motor was probably better for the overall weight savings. I agree though that V8 from gt or better yet the boss 302 would have been better. Sound wise and no nasty surprise like you would get from the turbos in the corners.
now for the real test? how would you think it would handle against, the SSC Ultimate Aero, Koenigsegg Agera R and the Bugatti Veyron
Hopefully it will be available with another choice of engine, turbo Toyota V6, Volvo T6, etc...
It's not a bug - it'a a feature! --- A company selling a fast road car without ABS just couldn't get it to work right.
Think of the RP120 but with an Mazda 13B rotary, that would be awesome:)
There's a reason for that.
Light, Reliable, Powerful, Relatively Cheap, etc.
Would actually like to see this car come with a 5.0 DOHC Coyote Turbo option though...Just call up hellion and cut a deal Rossion!
A 450HP mid engined, 2500 pound car is great...But a 750HP mid engined sports car is, of course, much better ;)
these car should be in one of the future need for speed games
the gearknob is just like the one on a ford transit
This car is the mix of Porsche, Ferrari and a little bit of lotus !
That road is Alligator alley in south florida.
