    Well, here goes...
At 25:00 the traditional brick blocked second doorway was breached approximately 1982 by a 12-13 year old me and a few friends armed with a sledgehammer! We walked around the dark with the roadside paraffin lamps as illumination. I remember crawling through the internal knocked-out wall, and viewing the light of the hole in the main door from the bottom of the stairs. We returned a few times, and remember the room that suffered the fire - it was essentially arson of lots of old paperwork.
The entrance was soon secured with concrete blocks, which are visible through our efforts!
Fun days, and there were quite substantial shelters nearby at the back of the Civic Halls to explore too.
Great video, I’ve often wondered what the bunker was for, and now I know!
BTW above the bunker in the wooded area is the remains of the Orpington train turntable - have a look at an old map...

I could be way of the mark, but the holes in the room with bits of wood in them, could they have used them to pass a message in a tube from one room to the next without leaving the room. A message system. A great video again from the best team around. Many thanks. Keep up the great work. Hello from the city of Liverpool.

The padlock on that gun rack is still locked! Did someone bust the door to get to the enfields. If that's the case, are those genuine WWII rifles on the black market today? Or sitting in someones home. What a thought.

Revelation here of British Rail being in bunkers in the cold war. You would think railways would be of little use after the balloon went up. We've seen the water industry prepared up to the 1980s, but from the early 1950s state of this place, maybe BR realised they would be doomed......

100% is gun rack you could not lift the guns out because the stock would be 2 big. Looks like they were for Lee Enfield rifles. What a absolutely amazing bunker was so cool.

Could this have been.used for fire dept training. We have used old missile silo bunkers to set up mazes. Could explain the burning and why out was blocked off at one time.
