I had visions of that ending in an interment. Its easy to see how some people go for a walk and just disappear and nothing sinister about it. They simply fell down one of these places or an old well that's been forgotten about. Thanks for sharing.
That was awesome, such a shame it had collapsed, like you guys I wish these little gems would be preserved and maintained forever.. such an important part of our history, thanks for sharing this one 👌👍
Really enjoyed this one! I was out literally this time last year searching for one in South Devon. Eventually found it although the main area had collapsed
Few years ago while looking at old maps with shelters on a found one of these bunkers at West Chevington Northumberland found two both all dug out by a jcb unfortunately, but it makes you wonder how many if any have been left untouched and forgotten about a no they are all Scotland as well , fascinating really especially all the kit that was used by them brave lads
Great vlog as always folks! I remember as a child playing round an auxiliary unit in the woods where I lived in Wivelsfield Green. It consisted of an entrance tunnel,1 room with bed frames in and a vertical escape tunnel. Last time I visited some 30 years ago it had sadly caved in. Stay safe all,and great to see Chris' racing Transit back!
You guys need to invest in a couple of machetes to cut through the blackberry bushes and stinging nettles. This is one of the things I keep in my truck when I go fishing. I sometimes will make a bad cast instead of loosing a 10 or 15 dollar lure I will cut my way down to where the lure is and retrieve it
Hi Ian, big fan here from Sydney. If I can make a suggestion? Get some decent rope and harnesses and the skills to use them! I almost papped myself watching you go down that shaft. Other than that, helluva gem.
When it was in operation you would have walked right past it and not seen it in the trees after a few months. I think a lot of this stuff you find didn't have a long life expectancy. It was just needed there and then so it was well made but not made to last any more than 5 years or so. A lot of work would have gone into that. Dig the holes, box it up and concrete it. Assemble the iron and fill it in. Set up the interior and stock it. Recontour the ground around it and on to the next one. And all of this done while trying to do it on the quiet.
I met a snake once, It was curled up crying so i said wassup, it asked me if he was venomous and i said yes you are a very dangerous snake. He then broke down completely and said Oh no I just bit my tongue!!!!!!!
@@IKS-Exploration yeah mate. Don’t blame you. How about getting creeped out by weird vibes? You must have seen and heard some strange stuff on your missions.

Thank you again for sharing your great adventures with us. Interesting stuff. Greetings from WW2HistoryHunter.
Superb viewing, thanks for showing. That summer of 1940 must have been a hell of a time to live through.

Oh and the antenna wire generally fed from the emergency escape tunnel end of the main room from memory, up a clay water pipe.
3:47 Those are Salix matsudana 'Tortuosa' or corkscrew willows there is another called curly oak also a very interesting and pretty tree.
An interesting find! They were particularly good at hiding these operational bases
Great explore! Trying to find a place is definitely part of the fun! 😀👍🏻
Alpine butterfly loop knots work well for improvised rope ladder - fixed loops and relatively easy to untie afterwards 👍
Thanks for doing what you do and sharing forgotten history!

There’s another one of these down in Salisbury that I went to (believe it’s the same), much better condition. Amazing what lays beneath us!
Great video folks, it always makes an explore more rewarding when you have to search for it!

Could be a problem in the U.K. if you get stopped by the police as it would be classed as an offensive weapon !
Have you boys tried using the National Library of Scotland mapping overlays … ?
Quality 👍
