Hi Kat, It is a stormy cold night in Northern Virginia. I am sitting in my mom's cozy little house with burgandy velvety faux fur lined slippers, drinking very strong coffee with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in it because I am out of half and half. I was so excited when I recd an alert to your video tonight. I love everything you always make and can never think of a favorite but I do have to say I love the jingle bells and t hff e coffee can. My mom has a couple of cans in her pantry and months before she passed away I asked her why did she have them. She said she hse to make pumpkin loafs on them. She would take the other end off and grease it good inside and bake them with the batter inside. I vaguely remember round slices of pumpkin bread with a dusting of powder sugar on them. I asked her if I could have them to make my lanterns out of them and she said yes. But, now I see your can idea and I would rather make 2 of those, one for each end of the fire place. In the past when i have wanted to age paper i out it into a glass pyrex deep plate and poured tea (one tea bag is good) in the plate and put my paper in there. That's how I made faux parchment paper for a history project in junior high when I was writing a document with a feather pen and ink. But, your idea of painting your paper is great too. My mom always loved anything if it came in 3's so I think she eoukd love the bells. I think if she were alive and I made that she eoukd calls us 3 kids her 3 ding a lings. 🤣 This will be my only 2nd Christmas ever in my life I will not be with my mom. Last Christmas was great and I did not over do her house but I made it spectacular. She loved everything espec the tree. I saved up lots of over time money to get her a real tree from her favorite garden shop. I forgot to ask for the piece they cut off the bottom. I wanted to decoupage a photo of her and I on it and drill a hole and make an ornament. I will be here alone this year for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Christmas night but I will make the best of it. She will be watching over me and I am still going to get a real tree (more budget friendly this year as I have not been using my credit cards because I have to move in March). I will still decorate as though she was going to be with me. My mom's favorite word has always been JOY. She referenced each letter being Jesus Others Yourself which is the order He called us to love. Saturday afternoon after work I went to the Dollar Tree. Since my mom passed away I have had no interest to craft until Friday night I saw a wooden ornament someone has made and the itch to create came back. My mom loved my crafts I know she woukd want me to make things again. When she would nap, my glue guns would be heating up. I saw on Saturday the square wreath form and almost bought one but I am not great with wreaths but, I love burlap. I actually have a large piece of red burlap but I like your natural color better. Thank you for great ideas as usual. Love always, Rebekah
Hi, Rebekah. Friend, I love getting your messages... they always seem to touch my heart. I feel the bond you have with your mom through every word you write... Sending prayers of strength... I know how hard it is when we miss our moms. Hugs, friend. Keep crafting! xoxo
I liked the third one, too!!! So realistic and old looking. I'm making some small cloth trees for my grandson and a small "North Pole" sign. I also plan on making some magnets for my refrigerator.
I love all of these Kat the Can is one of my favorites I do a lot with cans I will even put them in the backyard and let them sit in the weather for a week to naturally rust up but I love yours thank you for the free printable and the great ideas God bless
TIP: Finger saver when using a hot glue gun...just keep a little water in a small bowl and dip your fingers in the water. The hot glue won't burn your fingers if they're wet! Love your projects.
Thanks so much! 😊 So glad you like them, Aurora. I am happy I was able to get this video out. I do have another one I am working on. Talk to you soon, friend.
Hi Kat great to see you and thank you for what you do with your school children ..I loved them all but my favorite yes is the can..thank uou for sharing god bless
Stunning Kat I love all of them but I must say I’m a sucka for Can DIYs 🤩 I love the way it came out rustic absolutely beautiful 😍 thank you so much for joining us you are always so wonderful to Collab with sweet friend 😃🥰🙏🏽
Loved them all, but I think my favorite is the bells in the square frame! I might use all three as inspiration for some DIY's. They're all beautiful!🎄❄⛄
Thank you for getting me through the pain after oral surgery. I woke up at 3:00 am in pain and I watched this video while I iced and medicated. Great inspiration to keep myself distracted. I love the three houses that say joy.
I totally agree, I love the can it turned out so nice. Everything was super cute!! The corner touch to the square wreath will polished it off. Thank you
Kat, your first project was stunning! I always see those square wreaths and never snag them because I have no idea what to do with them lol your idea was genius! You always do such a beautiful job, so happy to have collabed with you! 🥰🥰🥰
My favorite, which I plan on making myself is the 3 bells in the square metal frame. I thought it turned out so pretty and I have all of the ingredients except the frame.
HERMOSOS!!😍 🤭 YO HICE MIS CASCABELES EN ESFERAS ROJAS GRANDES. LES PINTÉ DE NEGRO EL DISEÑO HUECO DE LOS CASACBELES Y PEGUÉ UNA TIRITA DE LAZO AL MEDIO EN ROJO. 😍 RECIBE MI ABRAZO BELLA AMIGA!! 🌷.. YA ESTÁ PRONTO LA NAVIDAD 🙏 ABI 💜 MÉXICO 🇲🇽
If you wanted an even older shabby look to the can. After you apply the label and allow it to dry, tape off the label and then paint the can. Add Cinnamon to your paint until it resembles a rough look. Then paint your can. It will really look and smell great! :)
i was wondering where u were too, hope all is ok I am kinda addicted to ur u tube. u are so good at explaining everything and having all the info under the description..
