I have this exact same car messed with the gas cap while car on looked it up you popped up now I’m a fan
My 01 e320 used to get that code every few months.
I had a bluetooth dongle for my phone, and I'd just clear it out after opening and closing the gas cap, and it would then go several months before it would come back.
I usually just used cheap car parts store caps and replaced them occasionally.
My mercedes specialist put a mercedes cap on it, and it would do the same thing. Plus, it had an inner locking ring that I had to flip back with plyers every time I took it off.

I have a 2006 CL 500, which I love. I am having issues with my radio and trunk issues. It seems as if the Mercedes Delership is having issues fixed it or to break something on the car, which I have to fix later. I live in Raleigh, North Carolina, and I need help.
