Ryan, you made a good point on the $70 parking fee. It’s safer too because you’re downtown. The French Quarter is amazing with a rich history to explore! Good on ya!

Louisiana is one of the most beautiful places in the country - but the roads near Shreveport/Bossier City are some of the worst! We traveled with a 37' fifth wheel from DFW to Florida, to San Diego and Maine - Louisiana was easily the wort. Loving the trip! If you're reading this and want a great State Park for a stay in New Orleans, try Bayou Segnette State Park.

This trip has basically just started and it already is something I look forward to seeing updates on. Ty for helping us atleast have an idea of what such an insane sized trip could look like.

The beignets are best when they are crispy and not as fluffy

New Orleans is one of the last places in America with truly unique culture. Visited twice in the past year, and even though someone attempted to steal our car, I still want to go back desperately - that should tell you all you need to know about how awesome New Orleans is.

I’ve been to NOLA 3 times and idk what it is about that city but i love it. The people are dope. Culture dope. Food great. The vibe is just great. Love going there and talking to the people who have been there for ever about the history. Also exploring outside of just the French quarters. You learn how to properly pronounce New Orleans and all kinds of dope stuff.

Hey Ryan -- my organization (The Society of Jesus) has churches, schools, universities and research centers all over the United States. HMU and I can give you their locations. If any of them mesh with your travels, I can contact them about using their parking structures . (No guarantees, but can't hurt to ask)

I love that you do alot of cooking from scratch which requires frequent grocery shopping. You should think about investing in some reuseable shopping bags. Enjoy the videos. keep 'em coming!

Ryan, you should do a video on how you track maintenance and stuff on your van. I've always been interested in stuff like that.

On really handy tip while frying (especially considering your circumstance sit seems doubly important) is to laaaaay your item to be fried with the last bit. Think laying it from from "6" to "12" on a clock, if youre standing at six.

The cold slows yeast activity a lot. If you would have left that dough for 2 hours out of the fridge it would have given the yeast time to work, creating a lot of gases that would bubble in the dough and make it about double in size with all the air bubbles. Once you fry them they would have been more fluffy and would have had a deeper yeasty flavor instead of tasting so floury. If you still have the ingredients for another try I think you'll like them a lot more if you let the yeast ferment in warm air for the 2 hours. Thanks for the video, its cool to see you always going new places and trying new things as you travel.
