Gundam vs. for me, i've played most if not all games since i discovered the series on the psp, became one of my favourite video game series. And one of the most agonizing things is waiting for the latest version of the game to end it's arcade run and get a console port and hope it also gets an international release. The latest version in the series is Gundam exvs2 and it's been 3 agonizing years of waiting and since Maxi boost came out on Ps4...
Not sure if it's real region exclusive at this point but Phantom Breaker Extra is very fun game with interesting characters and solid combo system. If you are into anime and don't mind fighters making a LOT of noise, check it out 😆
A couple more to mention: Hiryū no Ken has been around since 1985, and been in multiple genres like beat 'em ups and RPGs, but the three games I'm referring to are 1994's SD Hiryū for the Super Famicom, 1997's Virtual Hiryū no Ken for Sony PlayStation(the series' first 3D fighter), and 1999's SD Hiryū no Ken Densetsu for the Nintendo 64, which included guest characters from another Culture Brain property whose games mainly stayed in Japan: Super Chinese, known as Ninja Boy elsewhere, also having a Super Famicom fighting game of its own that never left Japan released in 1995. Both games in the Goiken Muyou: Anarchy in the Nippon series never left Japan. The first game for the Sega Saturn in 1997 was created by four players who loved Virtua Fighter 2 for the console but broke away from developer AM2, so they made their own game, which kinda played like Virtua Fighter 2 and 3.Some secret characters were actual acclaimed Japanese Virtua Fighter 2 arcade players. A sequel, Goiken Muyo 2, would be released for the Sony PlayStation in 1998.
Fighter's History Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu! is another fighting game that never left Japan It was only released for the Super Famicom in 1995 It was originally going to be a port of Fighter's History Dynamite, but the idea changed and it became a sequel instead. Besides the classic 'Arcade Mode' there are new modes in that game Fighter's History Mizoguchi Kiki ippatsu! has a MIZOGUCHI Mode, it is a story mode where you control as Mizoguchi going in a silly quest The other mode worth mention is the Tag Team Yes, FH MKI has a Tag Mode even before Kizuna Encounter and X-Men vs Street Fighter The only downside of FH MKI (besides never leaving Japan) is that Ray, Matlok, Samchay, Mastorius, Jean are not playable. At least Chelnov (the main hero of the arcade game CHELNOV) appears in the game as the final boss and is playable if you make a code
Chaos Breaker Dark Awake is an underrated gem I feel sad for Eolith. They no longer exist 😔 I am one of those people who actually enjoyed KOF 2001 and 2002. Say what you want about KOF 2001 but the mechanics and use of the bars were very well thought out. And 2002's gameplay was so good that many future KOF games use it as the basis many years later Sometimes I think it would have been better if Eolith had stayed with KOF, at least for the next saga. Dark Awake shows that they had learned well.
Sengoku Basara needs to come on every console. But hey I can dream. That Asuka 120% looks cool to play and I would love to try it. Definitely play Phantom Breaker:Omnia especially with extra spicy mode. (basically changes the announcer) THAT needs love ASAP
Garouden Fist or Twist is so much fun once you get the controls down. Power Instincts 2 is such a step up from the first. There's a couple of Kamen rider games that are good
Back when i had a japanese Sega Saturn owned this 3D game called D-Xird, made by Toshinden people... iirc never got western release en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-Xhird
We couldn’t fit too much into this list, but maybe you have a region locked game that you’ve been interested in?
Good video! Not to change the subject, but could you list every background music track in this video please? 🙏
For sure:
1. Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi - Interception
2. Tatsunko vs. Capcom - Daigo Temple (Moonlight)
3. The Toubou Prisoner - BGM003
4. Hello Kitty Series Vol. 02: Minna de Sugoroku - Track 8
5. Warcraft II - Orcs 2
6. Golfing Greats 2 - Name Entry

One game I noticed missing from this list was Tobal No.2. I soo wanted to play that game when I was a kid 😢
I was Gundam baited 😭
Got em 😂!
Asuka 120% is most interesting to me with Chaos Breaker being close second. I do not know any other fighting games that never left Japan, though.

These are some sick deep cuts! Thank you for such an insightful comment.

There are also the Rurouni Kenshin and that one Ranma 1/2 game which had Hinako Ninomiya
Garouden Fist or Twist is so much fun once you get the controls down.

What's that music at the end? I love it!❤
It's a Name Entry track from Konami's Golfing Greats 2!
Is that music at the beginning from a cave shmup or something, it sounds super familiar
You are spot on, that's Interception from Ketsui
Saw the Gundam you put in the thumbnail as bait and was legit hoping that you were going to bring up Gundam Wing: Endless Duel for the SFC. Bummer.
Ahh, Warcraft music ❤️
Games we never got due to the dark age of fighters 😔
I remember seeing the character at 53 seconds before but I can’t remember from where or who he is. 🤨
Can anyone help me out? It’s kind of killing me.
That's Megabyte from the first all-CGI TV series, 90's Canadian cartoon ReBoot.
I have Sengoku Basara 2. I really enjoy it. 👍
And I also have Sengoku Basara X
They need to be imported!
I hate the idea thhat i never got my Mortal Kombat 2 on a playstation in europe
