The Flor de Oliva is what I got started on. I smoke the natural robusto and my Dad (who introduced me to cigars) smoked the Gold robusto. I spent 5 days a week (sometimes 6 and 7) for 4 years at Harbor Cigars in Destin, FL with my Dad. They opened at 9 AM and we were generally some of the first there. We'd hold court with the same group of guys everyday. My Dad passed away the day before Thanksgiving 2021 (friggin COVID vaccine) and I made my way back to FL from TX for his funeral. My brother and both went to Harbor and got Dad's daily, the Gold Robusto. Then, the owner gifted us a bundle for after the funeral. This cigar will always have a special place in my heart, and always be in my humidor (even though I now smoke more expensive stuff).
As a blue collar worker my self I love the factory smoke cigars it’s a working man’s cigar in my opinion price is cheap taste is consistent for just a regular smoke after a long day in the field I think it’s perfect
I used to smoke cheaper cigars but eventually I got to where I'd rather smoke less to smoke better. Tryna make this hobby cheap just ruins what makes it beautiful to me. There's always a place for cheap sticks, but I don't wanna smoke to smoke - I wanna smoke to have an experience.
I felt the same way then I found asylum schizos. Now granted I've only smoked two BUT so far those two smoked like 10 to 13 dollar cigars. So I've now changed that philosophy.
Everyone likes to smoke the cigar that they want. For me if you wanna smoke a 3-5 dollar cigar at the lounge or at home go ahead that's totally fine. You really don't have to break the bank to enjoy a great cigar. Remember there are still expensive cigars that don't meet the expectation and if you smoke it and have a bad time then you just wasted maybe 15-20 dollars on a really mid cigar. To me what makes the hobby beautiful is that I can enjoy a great premium cigar for a reasonable or cheap price and I don't have to spend like a madman to afford a great stick
In my case, my taste is more expensive now that i am older and have a little more cash, like many others who begin this journey. BUT, i have so many good memories from my younger years with cheap cigars and every time a smoke a cheaper one, if its the same thing i smoked back in college for example, it takes me back and really outshines even the expensive stuff sometimes. Sentimental value can’t be expressed in dollars! Don tomas maduro was (and still is) my jam.
Century sam is a good cigar for cheap (5 for 10$ in a pack) im in canada too, but will admit im just starting out but found they are quite nice. Got a good flavor too. Have you ever had them before?
I had fine cigars given to me in the past and did not truly appreciate the experience (maybe too strong, too big), but years later it was a Curly Head Natural that sold me on how enjoyable a cigar could be.
As a budget stick, I have always enjoyed the Quorum lineup from JC Newman cigars - Great construction, solid burn, and rich flavour, to boot. I believe they also recently launched a Havana series, which I’m hoping to get my hands on soon. Darn Canadian tobacco distribution and stupid plain packaging problems…. Ugh 😑
Came to post this. I'm on my third bundle of robusto maduros and don't plan on changing my daily smoke anytime soon. I tried a couple dozen Factory Smokes and some other 3-4 dollar sticks, and though they're not bad, I simply prefer the Quorum.
@@Hueffed my experience has been the opposite. Most are rolled well but occasionally I've gotten the ones so loose it's like I'm breathing through a snorkel. I've tried dozens of Quorum, Factory Smokes and Great Cigars and still like the Quorum the most. I smoked a Buenavista Tobacco Factory Edition Limitada box pressed from a sample pack and liked it a lot. So I ordered a box and it turned out to be 3.80 per stick including tax and shipping. Love those!
I enjoy small cigars as every day sticks. Punch London Club (5 x 40), also Elite (5.5 x 46), are usually under $4 each if you buy by the box. About $5 each off the shelf, depending on state taxes. I also enjoy the short or petit coronas (4.5 x 38) that often come in tins. Padron Cortico are a favorite. Perdomo 10th Ann. Champaign is another. Rocky Patel Juniors are excellent little smokes. Ashton short coronas are very nice as well. I'm not sure about the Ashtons but the others are long filler, which I tend to get more enjoyment and satisfaction from than short filler.
I had my first padron anniversary today with some friends, I was of course impressed with the balanced nature, the great mouthfeel, and the immaculate construction. Yet, I couldn't call it better than a liga, better than a undercrown, or better than a factory smoke. I'm really happy that's the case, It's nice to know whether I win big in life or fall flat, I'll always get to have some good tobacco in my corner!
What? You've got to be kidding! A padron anniversarie edition not even better than a factory smoke? Padron is the number one selling brand in America...
Hey Tim! Love your videos. I've started smoking cigars again after being away from it for a handful of years, and found your videos and have loved your tenacity and knowledge of the cigar smokers life. You should make a "Pastor cigar pack", or maybe call it "The Spurgeon pack". Working in church ministry, I agree it's hard to have money to buy extras, but it's one of my favourite things to do to relax after a long day of ministry. Many of our staff enjoy cigars, and man I wish shipping to Canada was cheaper. God bless man keep up the good work!
Great video. Thank you for sharing. I smoke cheap cigars, and I smoke 22 dollar and higher cigars. I typically have no issue smoking cheap cigars. I do tend to save my favorites, such as Drew Estates Leather Rose, Fat Bottom Betty, Sweet Jane, etc., for more special occasions, but honestly I have a humidor filled with Factory Throwouts No. 99 and No. 49. They smoke great, taste wonderful, somehow have really great construction, and last at least an hour per cigar, longer if you take it easy (I smoke very, VERY fast unless I have some whiskey.) Cheap cigars are great, and they will always have a place in my line up. I've had some real terrible ones too, ones I don't even consider to be actual cigars due to a lack of one or more construction parts, such as a wrapper leaf... But typically I have at least three to four different cheap cigars that I smoke daily, and they are good. Do they smoke like a 22 dollar or higher? No, but they smoke great. So, keep your minds open, and broaden your taste palate.
I have ordered from many vendors online. Cigars daily has not only the best prices, but the cigars arrive excellently maintained, delivery is fast, and customers service is A+ IMHO. ...and no, i didn't get paid for this comment, just experience.
Recently started smoking cigars and I discovered the Flor de Oliva Sumatra wrapped stick at my local cigar shop. It has a sweet flavor and smooth draw! Amazing retrohale for me. I could indeed be happy smoking just these the rest of my life. Really glad to hear I'm not the only one.
Great timing, even though I can afford higher sticks now, cheap cigars are my roots and everyday smokes. Oliva 2nds are a great option, though my palette had moved on quorum cigars by JC Newman were solid buys. I recently tried chilling moose and odessey habano and they were both enjoyable
It’d be neat if for every video you do a price range of you create a sampler pack. I’d enjoy sampling the ones you listed on the budget side! Just an idea
I like all different sizes of cigars. As for cheap, Argyle Fumas Connecticut Churchill, Argyle Fumas Robusto with Sumatran wrapper. Something like the Partagas Series D. Same with the Villiger Serie Dominicana with Connecticut wrapper. Basically the same cigar, change of wrapper. Both with Peruvian binder, Nicaraguan & Dominican fillers. Both darn good smokes on the cheap! And of course, the Factory Smokes Robustos; Shade Connecticut, Maduro & Sun Grown. Superb value and flavor! Also, the Villiger Selecto Churchill Connecticut & Maduro cigars. Great flavors and construction when you have the time for a 7x50 stogie. Then there's the PDR 1878 Cubano Especial, Capa Maduro & Capa Sun Grown. They are always a bit dry, but given a couple weeks in the humidor, and they're darn good for the price! There are more, but this is a good start.
Drew Estates Factory Smokes were the first cigars I ever smoked....and still smoking mostly them only today. Great Cigar and better priced too. Another great video Sir - I have learned so much from your videos
One cigar I found about 15yrs. ago that was fantastic, and I still buy them every now and then is the Nestor Plascenia La Finca" Gran Finca"! For about $2.75/cigar I used to get 25 cigars in a beautiful box! and the cigar is a long filler with notes of wood, nuts, and spice! Sadly, I have had a harder time finding them on cigar websites and have moved on to newer blends! I always got compliments on the aroma! They also had good construction and a good burn quality to them! Everything you'd want in a great cigar! Ed S.- California
I used to get down on myself for not really having a super-developed palate. But not when I think about how much I have enjoyed close to 100 different cigars over the last several years- I'm satisfied almost anywhere in the lineups! I only burn about 5-7 a week on average, so it's nice to save a few bucks now and then. Only one of these I haven't tried yet, it's now in queue...about the most sophisticated I am is my choices for breakfast/early day sticks- I have some preferences there, and have found a few exceptional to me. But overall...if you're like me and can't pick out ALL the flavors- don't worry, just enjoy without taking the side-streets into "snobbery". Not a meant to be derogatory...call it sophistication if you prefer. A sophisticate I am not. Nice work Tim!
Good video. My favorite economy sticks are the charter oaks but they are just a little more than 4 bucks. Also love the fritas line from liga Privada of course. I recently got my first order from you guys and it went really smooth. Showed up before I expected it and got great prices on some great sticks. You have a customer in me from now on, keep doing good things guys.
My favorite is buying some deals from Cigars Daily that may total $80 or $120 but the cost per stick is $4 or $5 and comes with a bit of merchandise as an added plus. Save up for it and wait for the deals that are perfect for you.
Bahia Maduro, Perdomo Lot 824 Maduro, Perdomo Lot 23 (goes on sale), Nica Libre 1990 (Comes in a wood box!), Gurkha Black Ops, Rocky Patel R4...I love bundle deals!
Aside from the cheap Backwoods Cigarillos, My first legit cigar was a Factory Smokes Connecticut Shade, Toro Size. Not my favorite, but a decent smoke. I'm still experimenting and seeing what really clicks with me. I'm not made of cash so sadly, even the 25 pack bundles for $40 is a bit on the pricey side. So far I've had a decent experience with Good Times Country Man. $43 for 50.
I really like the the quintero line from Cuba especially the favoritos, short filler, some can have draw issues but for 2-3 dollars a stick, come in boxes of 25 and have great flavour. And for a 4 dollar stick, the Padron 2000 is the best stick out there(personal choice)
My last few Factory Smokes were terrible, I couldn't even get them to draw. The Rico Barrato's I've smoked have been pretty good. If I want an inexpensive cigar I'll smoke the excellent Project 40
Hi Tim. Thank you for the great video. It seemed that after Flor de Oliva you presented the Plasencia Reserva Original Nestico 4 1/2 x 36 but the intro to that cigar was cut out from the overall video.
I like to smoke the Havana Q I think from Quorum and made by JC Newman, don't quote me. I also smoke the Drew Estate factory smokes. Both very affordable at 4$ and change. They're great for mowing the lawn and stuff but I still love the higher end smokes due to the endless choices and experiences available to the every day lover of the leaf.
The Cusano P1…I love the Corona Maduro. Super affordable and a damn good flavor blast in each third. I mean just close your eyes and let your palate ride the rollercoaster. Consistency, flavor, and price…betta recognize!!! 💨 💨 💨 Yessir!
The first cigar I ever smoked was a gordo sized Factory Smokes as an on the house cigar from the smoke shop I got it from, and it was a pretty damn good smoke. Knowing how cheap they are, I now have to buy a bundle, and cross my fingers that half the bundle isn’t a dud lol
I've also branched out and trying more of your American Viking line of cigars. I've enjoyed The filthy Viking in all sizes, Rico Barato Maduro & Connecticut (I'm liking the Belicoso's lately), Obrigado, Dama Valada, Box Pressed Rebellion, Lega Zebra and the Flor De Oliva Connecticut and Maduro. Cheap doesn't have to mean cheap construction or flavor! Neither does middle of the road have to mean hit or miss. These cheaper cigars, say $2 to $8 are, for the most part, better then many of the cigars costing 2-4 times as much! So your musings in this video are on point Tim!
Here in this little town i live in i have a choice of about 10 different cigars but my go to that i like is a simple blondie great flavor and also it just a short torpedo that i keep in my humidifier bag at all times
Yeah in Australia cigars cost about double of here in Norway and here it is already horribly expensive thanks to tobacco tax + 25% sales tax on top of that...
@@williamd1891 If voting mattered it would have been banned by the power hungry "elite" long ago... Now they just use Dominion vote fraud machines to get the corrupts bandits they want "elected".
I find that Quorum are the absolute best for the money. Its my go to cigar everytime. Not my favorite, but i burn about 3 to 4 sticks a day so i have to be very careful on what i spend to make sure im always flush with stogies.
Rate my loot: I just picked up a grip of Oliva and Oliva Saison cigars, 50 of them (10x OS Maduro Toro, 20x OS Robusto, and 20x O+OS sampler pack containing 5x O Serie 'O' Robusto + O CT Reserve Robusto + O Serie 'G' Robusto + OS Robusto), for a per cigar cost of under $2.50/ea! Considering the last Oliva I bought, Serie V Torpedos, were a basis of $17.50 I am shocked at this deal I found. I'm hesitant to give my watering hole up but buyers who've taken a few trips around the pond can likely guess where!
I’d like to see a complete breakdown of the Olivia seconds line , I occasionally bid on them looking for the sought after Melanio and always get something totally different. Anyhow thanks for the content and for making the American Viking.
Casa de garcia maduro toro. Love that stick. Its like just under 3 bucks at my loval b&m. Reminds me of a nica rustica or a alec bradley maduro reserve.
I checked your website. You do not sell Baccarat, one of my all-time favorites. I realize not everyone likes a sweet gum cap, but I do. Any chance you will have them in the future? Also, do you have any discounts for military? I do enjoy your videos very much.
Rico Barato is definitely my favorite budget stick especially the maduro, they don’t get the love and recognition outside of the cigars daily world they deserve IMO
@@A.S_5050 i would recommend coffee I don’t drink alcohol so I couldn’t be help with a alcohol pairing but coffee is great with it, I’ve had it many times the Connecticut in morning and the Maduro later on in day and night it was great together
Can you please give a close up of each cigar for those of us who are poor spellers? I often have trouble finding a stick because my spelling is so far off. Have a great day. Patrick
Always great to learn more about cigars. I sorta started cigars in mid 1970's. Never found a good inexpensive SATISFYING cigar. Twenty years or so ago I found Trinidad Y Cia from JR. They were under a buck each. The Corona is my fav. A nice smoke and won't break the bank. Like a nice wine, you gotta find what tastes best for you. Not nobody else. Considering our american dollar is worth shit these days, a fiver for a smoke is reasonable. Think my Trinidad's are $30 a bundle now and that's still a bargain. A swell cigar for enjoyin' on the porch with some schnapps, wine or brandy.
Whenever I run out of my fav cigars....and i need a nice budget stick from the liquor store down the street....I grab the Flor De Oliva for 4 bucks.....and it's well worth it!
I was going to buy Factory Smokes but someone pointed me towards a $4.75 stick from Tatuaje, forgive me for not remembering the name though. They come in a nice wooden box of 20 though. Have a nice strength to them and burn well. I got them in the Robusto size. Great stick to hand out to someone on the golf course who doesn’t normally smoke cigars.
Hey Tim currently I’ve been enjoying the Erin Go Bragh cigars I picked up a box of 20 in the Toro length off Cigars international so far not to bad. Have you ever tried them if so what did you think?
I swear on Drew Estate factory smokes. It's a great cigar for the price. Belicoso sweet factory smoke is definitely my go to cigar when I'm in a rush or really want to have a cigar and don't mind if I throw it out afterwards to do errand.
Sometimes depending on the size you can find Isla Del Sol for somewhere in the $4 range. It's more the $5 cigar, but again... SOmetimes you can find them in the $4
I heard about the factory smokes then bought 25 packs of the Maduro first then the sweets that were 20 pack the Connecticut shade is way too light for me and I never tried to sungrown but if I was you I would just stick with the sweets which is good with coffee and a drink and the material is pretty well-balanced
I like Factory Throughout as a daily smoke. There actually not bad, definitely not the best. construction is off sometimes but for less the 2$ it's not bad, in my opinion
Ramon Bueso Genesis The Project is my favorite daily smoke. It’s 90 for a box so about 4.50 a stick. It’s one of the most consistent and flavorful smokes I’ve ever had
If I may add, try the Balmoral Domicican selection, 25 sticks for 65 euro's. corona's, the panatela's are just as nice and cheaper. The cigar I started on and I am still exploring but this Balmoral corona is my go to smoke on a budget!

When I started smokin I got a lot of cheaper stuff to learn to care for. I ruined a lot but now I'm better at it so I get the good stuff. Mostly.
Liga privada is a great stick one of my favorites but it's not a cheap cigar. The dirty rat is also good.
@@beachlifestyle yeah but the nasty and papas Fritas lines are cheap
Charter is a great stick for the price, agree.
My favorite is buying some deals from Cigars Daily that may total $80 or $120 but the cost per stick is $4 or $5 and comes with a bit of merchandise as an added plus. Save up for it and wait for the deals that are perfect for you.
Bahia Maduro, Perdomo Lot 824 Maduro, Perdomo Lot 23 (goes on sale), Nica Libre 1990 (Comes in a wood box!), Gurkha Black Ops, Rocky Patel R4...I love bundle deals!
i enjoy everything on this list
also General grants are great cheap/small sticks
Where can you get a Padron 2000 for under $6
@@jklm. quintero is great! true...i was surprised about the great taste and quality
Picked up a Factory Smoke to try while I was at my local shop because of this video. It was surprisingly delightful. 👍🏼
My last few Factory Smokes were terrible, I couldn't even get them to draw. The Rico Barrato's I've smoked have been pretty good. If I want an inexpensive cigar I'll smoke the excellent Project 40
@PJB The opposite, like sucking air, no resistance at all so no smoke would draw thru them. Waste of money.
Love the Flors, especially the maduro
Perla Del Mar maduro! Box pressed! 5 bucks at my brick and mortar and it’s one of my favorite go to’s!
Knowing how cheap they are, I now have to buy a bundle, and cross my fingers that half the bundle isn’t a dud lol
factorys aint bad
I've recently come to like Arista Picadura (Torpedo) Sumatra as my go to Cigar.
You need, NEED to add Perdomo Fresco Connecticut and Maduro! Oh man they were delish, great Perdomo construction! Fantastic!
Wish we had $5 stick in Australia, basic cigars will run you upwards of $35 - $50 each. Bloody outrage!
Won’t be long until that’s us in the US too.
Vote accordingly.
Good grief. Pipe tobacco like that too?
I find that Quorum are the absolute best for the money. Its my go to cigar everytime. Not my favorite, but i burn about 3 to 4 sticks a day so i have to be very careful on what i spend to make sure im always flush with stogies.
Great video as usual.
Tell us about church ministry.
Didn't know.
Thanks
Rate my loot:
I just picked up a grip of Oliva and Oliva Saison cigars, 50 of them (10x OS Maduro Toro, 20x OS Robusto, and 20x O+OS sampler pack containing 5x O Serie 'O' Robusto + O CT Reserve Robusto + O Serie 'G' Robusto + OS Robusto), for a per cigar cost of under $2.50/ea!
Here in this little town i live in i have a choice of about 10 different cigars but my go to that i like is a simple blondie great flavor and also
Not a $4 stick but still cheap brand at around $6, the Charter Oak habano is an amazing smoke that hits well above its price range imo.
Great review I subscribed. I love working guy cigars. I didn’t catch the name of that last smaller cigar ?? Thanks Mike
It was the plasencia reserva original nestico
Rico Barato is definitely my favorite budget stick especially the maduro, they don’t get the love and recognition outside of the cigars daily world they deserve IMO
Any drink u would recommend to pair with the Rico Barato? Got one sitting in my humidor right now .
@@A.S_5050 i would recommend coffee I don’t drink alcohol so I couldn’t be help with a alcohol pairing but coffee is great with it, I’ve had it many times the Connecticut in morning and the Maduro later on in day and night it was great together
@@BearsNCigars sweet , thank you for the input I will definitely try it out !
@@A.S_5050 no problem brother enjoy 💨💨
Great content I haven't found a cigar shop close to me but when I do the in
The Connecticut Rico Baratos are actually quite nice. I usually have long filler ones but the Rico Barato is nice.
Juat tried my first factory smokes sweet. Local shop only had the churchill but it was enjoyable to the end even for a massive cigar
A budget stick that am buying is Quintero Brevas premium hand-rolled Havana - Cuba for €2.50 per stick or the whole box of 25 for €60
Im new to cigars but I really enjoy the ashton half coronas. I smoke one everyday. They only cost like 3$ each.
Whenever I run out of my fav cigars....and i need a nice budget stick from the liquor store down the street....I grab the Flor De Oliva for 4 bucks.....and it's well worth it!
The Drew estate sweets are actually pretty good I like those out of the sun grown and maduro
at a price point of $3.00 The Cuban Rounds Natural Toro Cigar is also a great low budget stick.
Rocky Patel strada goes for 4 dollars here in Virginia wonderful budget smoke
Tim, hope you see my comment. What is the very last cigar you were presenting in this video? I refer to the one that is 4.5'' by 36 rign.
Fair to say Drew Estate Factory Smokes is a very good performer in the budget stick category.
Hey Tim currently I’ve been enjoying the Erin Go Bragh cigars I picked up a box of 20 in the Toro length off Cigars international so far not to bad. Have you ever tried them if so what did you think?
I had money at one point. I wish I could go back and buy a massive collection. For me, for now, I stick with budget smokes.
Victor Sinclairs are by far the best I’ve found in that range
One of my favorites is Quorum Natural! Always a great smoke!
I agree with you here. I buy Genesis on auctions and get them for under $2.75 a stick.
@@danelobe2524Cigarbid all day. I just try and keep it under wraps so they all don’t get snatched up 😂
@@anthonykowal4431 I hear that another gem is rocky patel fumas.... dam there good 👍
If I may add, try the Balmoral Domicican selection, 25 sticks for 65 euro's. corona's, the panatela's are just as nice and cheaper. The cigar I started on and I am still exploring but this Balmoral corona is my go to smoke on a budget!
What are some really good cigars with a short smoke time? Across the price spectrum.
Just buy any good cigar in a smaller size I would think.
Any blend you like in Corona or short robusto size.
Villiger Export aren't half bad considering the price.
Wait what was the last cigar? I think there was an editing mistake.
Plasencia Reserva Original Nestico
Padilla makes picadores I got 20 for 30.00 they're habano wrapper and very good. If you can get them.
I used to smoke Alec Bradley white gold, it's a pretty good Connecticut
H Upman Fumas, $3/ stick, great sweat caramel flavour with cedar notes. Recommend!!
Quorum! And Gurkha's Prizefighter line
Best cheap smokes are perdomo fresco
AJ Fernandez blend 15
How can you not mention the best Cuban sandwich imho the fuente curley head? Just a fantastic cigar for a great price.
in the uk we dont get any super cheap sticks , cheapest is about £5 and is horrible dutch floor sweepings. next one which is a good is Mitchellero's but they start at £7
Thank you for this!
Charter oak Connecticut comes to mind
I like perfecto garcia for my $4 stick
The Rico Barato Connecticut is my new favorite.
