@@manuel_winde Thanks, it's going really well! The first four cigars went down like a dream and I was hooked! Love the relaxation aspect of the experience and of course the taste of cigars. Cigar noob here. Just started smoking and getting into the art, enjoyment and beauty of it. Thankfully I quickly realised that price is not the only aspect by which you measure a "good cigar". For example: I've had a Cohiba Siglo II Linea 1492 and enjoyed it very much but then I smoked a Filthy Hooligan Shamrock by Alec Bradley and this cigar which is considerably cheaper trumped the Cohiba for me personally in every aspect. As a friend of mine uses to say: *The best cigar in the world is the one which you enjoy most!*
As a noob myself I've sniffed the sealed cigar and cut way too much off the end. I love the enthusiasm you have for cigars and love that your videos are short, to the point, and rich with content. Thanks for making them.
Never thought in a million years I'd be watching videos on cigars! For the last few months I've been wanting to grab a cigar and give it a try. I finally stopped at a shop today and picked a few (four) different sticks up to try out. I'm hoping it is something I will enjoy!
@@ThatGuy1of1 I've enjoyed 3 so far. The only thing that I've noticed is the smoke aftertaste that lasts atleast a day afterwards. It must be something that takes getting used to. I look forward to finishing my last one and checking out a few more.
I'm so glad I found this, thank you Tim. I had been off of cigars for a year and kind of forgot a lot. I tried lighting it how you did it and it smells and taste wonderful.
Hey Tim, wanted to let you know that I had my first Rico Barato Maduro a few nights ago and it blew my mind. About 5 months into my cigar journey, a budget stick has my highest score lol love all you and your team does!
This channel is one of 3 that I'm subscribed to that only makes me want to smoke constantly. I just highly recommended this channel to a buddy at work a few days ago and he's just as hooked as I am! The knowledge is greatly appreciated and easy to understand but the enthusiasm and passion for the culture is priceless!
On your last point, I was reminded of a chef who was asked, "What's the right wine to drink with Thanksgiving dinner." He answered, "Whatever wine you like to drink." I have a buddy who has often given me grief for smoking _off brand, budget cigars,_ often purchased in wholesale bundles. Meanwhile, as someone who savors the _ceremony_ of smoking a cigar, I'm quite content to enjoy _five sessions_ for the cost of his _one._ It's not like I'm settling for gas station smokes; I'm just saving the high end cigars for special occasions. Yeah?
Thanks for the video. I'm a noob and like you said I am learning so much about this great hobby. It's people like you who help noobs learn to do things the correct way to get the most enjoyment out of their cigar and new hobby. I look forward to trying some of the American Viking sticks.

Tim, I enjoy your enthusiast approach, and your obvious passion for fine cigars. I've been a very occasional and intermittent cigar smoker for probably around 30 years. Lately, I'm smoking a bit more. I have to laugh though; you went over all the things that "noobs" might do, and how not to do them, and then in your last tip, you pretty much say, don't listen to anyone else; just do it the way you do it!
I remember the first time I tried one with my buddy. We were at the beach on a guys vacation and we stopped by a cigar store and picked up what we thought we would like. (I picked up a very strong one, my first mistake) we got back to the hotel and sat outside smoking them. I smoked mine like a blunt until halfway then realized how sick I felt when I stood up...: never again. It took me about 3 years to try one again and properly smoke it and I enjoyed it. I now have a 300 ct cigar cooler with tons of cigars aging. Wonderful hobby.
I have been smoking cigars for 17 years, this is by far my favorite cigar it has the perfect aroma and flavor that I like. Great review by the way. I have also wasted so much money buying cigars that other smokers rave about. I started smoking the Leather Rose a few weeks ago and it has become my daily smoke. Great review.
Great video, even better advice at the end. Getting in this hobby, I found myself really, really liking Macanudo cigars, particularly the mint moca. It's what I like and like you say, don't care if you judge me on my choice.
I'm glad i watch your videos before i really got into smoking cigars. Tim Thank you for everything on this amazing journey still new to smoking but enjoying every minute of it

I sit in a lounge, enjoy the meeting of new people, generally sip on something and fully enjoy my smoke and the mini vacation. Where I feel personally inadequate is in my knowledge of tobacco, cigars and where they are from. I just remember the brand. I know I enjoyed it, give me another and I'm down. The best “humidor” I’ve ever found is a cooler. A coolidor, if you will. I’ve tried to maintain humidors and hate the daily maintenance. But my coolidor will keep my stash at a constant 69/69 for weeks at a time. As for noob moves, as a wedding photographer, I see a lot of the “let’s all smoke a cigar” thing among the groomsmen. The noob mistake they all make? No one has a cutter and they think biting off the end is actually a thing. I’ve actually started carrying a cutter in my camera bag to help them have a better experience.
I used to cut off more than adequate of the end before lighting. A friend taught me to only nip off a short bit, and I've saved quite a bit of cigar doing so.
Im just gonna keep telling myself all the demonstration cigars he destroyed in this video were either ones he hated and need and excuse to get rid of or ones that were ruined somehow and needed disposed of.
I went in to a cigar shop today probably 3rd time in my life, as a noob.but the one I went to today is in El Paso, Tx called tobacco tin and while I was In the humidor the manager of the store came in on his day off and helped me out. Showed me a few packs of 4 for $20 and telling me about some of them. Got back to my hotel and watched some reviews on the ones I got and just one of them in this pack is already half the price I paid. The gentleman was definitely helpful and talked to me like any other customer. Can’t wait to learn more about this industry and of course get back to Houston and light one of these up.
That was a video of a million words, what I mean by that is it was helpful and insightful in many ways. I was trying out some cigars I found one I liked and not long after I just gave it a break really. I'm looking to get back into cigars. I've only ever ordered offline, I don't know I just feel like I may be out of place at a cigar shop. And really only trust one online shop as of now called privada cigar, I've tried zeal cigar but card info was stolen after one purchase and really turned me away from cigars for over a year. Now I'm too a point that I'm looking into privada again, and also wouldn't be against other online shops in the US.
Wow love the last one you saved I knew the cigars and I love the hobby and I’m not trying to act like I smoke cigars on my life because I don’t but I’m really into it now and the best one was the best that you laid out do what you like and cigars are there to support you not you to support cigars it’s a great hobby and I love your channel bro really enjoying all your Content
When started I used to take massive draws trying to produce large volumes of smoke. My cigars turned bitter and sour by the halfway point. I found small puffs make it last longer and keeps it from turning bad.
Noob move... Telling others they're doing it wrong, especially if they aren't. I like your thought at the end, the right way to smoke a cigar is the way you want to.
I did not know what I was doing at a local shop however I just told they guy what cigar suits this mood or activity, like what would go good with a whisky or after dinner etc and he helped me out pretty good
When I first started the guy who gave me one used to just bite the tip off. So he doesn’t tell me he’s just biting the very tip and I try biting like a 1/2” off. He didn’t correct me either. So then I decide I’m gonna buy my own and I see a cheap cutter at the register and buy it. It was YEARS before anyone saw me and said “dude don’t lop off that much.”
Thanks for the video brother ! I think all it takes is doing some research beforehand on cigars and proper etiquette. There is tons of information online and in professional cigar books or publications. Cigar shops and other friends or associates who are really into the hobby. I never wanted to look like a tool and it was well worth the research beforehand to at least look like I knew a little of what I was doing ! Lol..
I once gave a cigar to someone who I thought was a regular cigar smoker. They cut the cap off perfectly, and then they started lighting the cut end!! That’s when I realized they are the type to have someone else bait their hook.
My absolute pet peeve when some one goes in to the humidor is... When they pick up a stick and SQUEEZE it and thinking they know more about the preferred temp and humidity.. 😅

I've had to bite em.. it can be done well.
Just getting started and found your video quite helpful! Thank you! Great video!
Great vid, love ur impersonations, hilarious.
That heavy cut hurt my soul. 😂
Good video. Have seen a few of those blunders in lounges myself.
Digging the Flor de Cana hanging out in the background, by the way.
Dude, you are hysterical. Thanks!
My heart hurts after seeing him stamp and crush the cigar.
Visual nails on chalk board
@@DReese8533 yup
and cut it like that
Seriously.
When you stamped that thing out, I died a little inside. 😂😭
I used to cut off more than adequate of the end before lighting. A friend taught me to only nip off a short bit, and I've saved quite a bit of cigar doing so.
your videos man , they are extremely entertaining as well as informative , I find myself laughing while accidentally filling everything with ash
"very quickly and over my head" was exactly how I started smoking cigars a year and a half ago
Only way to do it
The stamping out of the cigar hurt me
Time Videos are wonderful👍. Tom’s advice is solid.😀
Hilarious. Love the Liga sticks ! I love their Papa Fritas. Bought a box. A little bigger than these guys but a good short on the go smoke
Man, I love your style !
Thanks for the tips, still learning 👍🏻🇺🇸
I'm a huge fan of the Series V. especially after about 10 days sitting in my cigar humidor cooler
When started I used to take massive draws trying to produce large volumes of smoke. My cigars turned bitter and sour by the halfway point. I found small puffs make it last longer and keeps it from turning bad.
Constantly rolling the ash against the ashtray drives nuts.
Noob move... Telling others they're doing it wrong, especially if they aren't. I like your thought at the end, the right way to smoke a cigar is the way you want to.
I did not know what I was doing at a local shop however I just told they guy what cigar suits this mood or activity, like what would go good with a whisky or after dinner etc and he helped me out pretty good
Killer vid Tim. Thank you
When I first started the guy who gave me one used to just bite the tip off.
You had me at finger phuck..haha nice vid.
There's a time and place for everything. lmao.
Great video. Well needed.
I'm watching this to be able to not make any waste and know how to do it. Very helpful, thanks
Like my rabbi said “ just the tip”
It killed me to see you stamp out that cigar lol
Thanks for the video brother ! I think all it takes is doing some research beforehand on cigars and proper etiquette. There is tons of information online and in professional cigar books or publications. Cigar shops and other friends or associates who are really into the hobby. I never wanted to look like a tool and it was well worth the research beforehand to at least look like I knew a little of what I was doing ! Lol..
I once gave a cigar to someone who I thought was a regular cigar smoker. They cut the cap off perfectly, and then they started lighting the cut end!! That’s when I realized they are the type to have someone else bait their hook.
This had me dying!
Just the tip. Good multi-application advice. I think I can remember that.
This channel is pretty sweet. Love this dudes energy
Great video Tim!
Great video brother I'm just starting into cigars.. I found your video very helpful
My absolute pet peeve when some one goes in to the humidor is... When they pick up a stick and SQUEEZE it and thinking they know more about the preferred temp and humidity.. 😅
New to the cigar world, and I'm Def enjoying the content
Great stuff!
God, when he stomped that cigar, my heart dropped
Edit: DEAR GOD WHY WOULD YOU SNIP A WHOLE THIRD OF IT
