Interesting thing about Chalice: I started using Chalice when I first started playing, so I learned how to use her dash parry as if it was the default parry mechanic. Thus, I've actually grown to PREFER her parry over Cuphead's and Mugman's by a very large margin. The only main weakness with Chalice is that she came out 5 years after cuphead did, so people were too used to Cuphead's mechanics too really get good at using her. Besides that, Chalice is superior to mugman and cuphead in every way (besides plane levels, you cannot convince me chalice is good for plane levels)

Yeah, if you’e playing as Ms. Chalice hearts come out the top of the cards. I recently replayed the game with the DLC from the beginning and that was SO helpful.
With Hocus Pocus, just stand on the ground and roll as soon as the suites are about to touch you, and if they start on the ground instead of the sky, just stand on the card in the middle and roll like on the ground
Call me crazy but I would put divine relique above heart ring. When you get used to it the divine relique really shines. The thing with getting parries on the heart ring tho is not that hard, you can just you crack shot and use it’s EX move which gives to a free Larry that counts as extra life’s with the charm
One thing about Whetstone in plane levels: if you parry and don't hit anything, you simply can't parry for a good second or so. Really annoying if you miss the parry window, and try spamming parry; and it just hits.
As someone who has S ranked the entire game, this is my ranking 9: Wheatstone 8: Heart 7: Coffee 6: Twin heart 5: P. Sugar 4: Smoke bomb 3: Parry ring 2: Divine relic 1: Astral cookie Change my mind.
Phase Survival: Put every phase in the game on a wheel. everyone spins it. You go to the phase you land on (with full HP so eliminate stuff like saltbaker phase 3 or Cala Maria phase 3) And see who lasts the longest in their selected phase. You could get lucky with P1 (you) getting goopy phase 3 while P2 gets esther phase 3 and P3 gets pirouletta. You cannot shoot during this as its up to how long you can survive. Whoever lives the longest wins. (also no using safe spots like in djimmi and brineybeard) Please do this cuphead challenge with some friends like beaver I think you would have fun
I also disagree with the 2nd it's so hard to do that that I can't still make it good after months of trying, I'm someone who rather dodges then to endure attacks
I'll never not favor the Divine Relic. I'm good enough at the game that upgrading to it isn't usually too stressful and I love how it makes me slightly more skilled at using weapons outside of my comfort zone.
That's true I think the divine relic is a great way to practice and get better overall, especially with weapons that may not be particularly favorable!
I would also like to add on to all of the HP buffing charms, its very helpful for the run and guns (though i didnt use them) but particularly for getting P rank
My only question: did they eventually patch how S+ ranks are earned? Because I seem to remember you weren't judged based on having 3 or more health, you were judged based on how many times you got hit at all, making the original heart charms less than worthless for S+ ranks.
@@SirPilky I do know there was one very large non-DLC patch a while after launch, which was when I did most of my playtime, so maybe they shifted it then.
Chalice is extremely good for King Dice. The double jump is well, good. The invincible roll can be used on a lot of mini bosses like the Tipsy Troop, Chips Bettigan, Pip and Dot, Hocus Pocus (I think his name is slightly different but the rabbit), Periletta (Spelt wrong, just the Russian Roulette girl idk), and Mangosteen. The dash parry can make parrying the dice easier because time won't be taken up by the first jump. It is especially good when you fight the sleazy manager himself, King Dice, usually it would be impossible, but they added hearts that float above the cards that can parry which makes it easier. The double jump can also be used here to stay in the air for quite a while using the parry dash and double jump. The extra hit point is also just a blessing, and all those reasons were just the King Dice fight alone. The Astral Cookie is really an Astral Blessing.
I love miss chalice because her double jump paradise and invincibility roll is super duper helpful I'd be a few regular bosses with her And lots of simple bosses No there would just wait to easy So I can consider buying the DLC to get chalice as 1 of your characters but tip you have to equip her as a It's It's pretty unhelpful if you're using like smoke ball But it's helpful if you're But if it's helpful if you're in But it's helpful if you're in sticky things
I leaned the game with chalice so now when i fight any boss with cuphead or mugman i always try to dash parry And also dash parrying on king dice is pretty ez
Why dlc made the game easier: A new character which is op A new charm that rewards parries A new charm which is basically another adventure on its own with it's treasure, and it's op A new shot which is op (crackshot) Why dlc made the game harder: *Shef Saltbaker.*
for my opinion, divine relic must be top 2 because its combine all smoke dash(2#), heart ring (3#) and coffee(7#) so i think it is beter if divine relic is top 2
Hey thanks so much I really appreciate that! I'm not happy at all with my upload schedule either, but I'm hoping to get another Cuphead video posted by the end of the month and do my best to stay more consistent from there
cool video, but there are some things i disagree with here: twin heart should be #5 at least, if not higher, while dlc charms like heart ring outclass it, if you play without dlc, it is one of the best charms for every s rank, having it turns s ranks from hitless required to basically a charmless fight with some damage decrease, and even if in some fights it’s better to run smoke dash or whetstone or whatever else, there is no fight where it is not useful for s ranks. p. sugar is pretty bad, i do agree, but it does trivialize dice timing on king dice i’d say divine relic is better than heart ring, if heart ring was in pre dlc, i would say it’s better, akin to what i think about twin heart, but post dlc heart ring is simply worse than astral cookie in ground stages, leaving it only really relevant in plane fights, and divine relic is far better there ms. chalice’s dash parry actually isn’t too bad on king dice himself, his floating heart particles are a lot easier to parry for one reason: when you use cuphead or mugman on king dice, you tend to dash onto the card train if there are 3 cards or even 2 cards at the beginning to the train, but if you do dash, it become very precise to get over any 4 or 5 card gaps, and with a 5 card gap, it’s extremely tough, i think it’s possible though, but chalice removes this issue, since parrying with your dash gives you an extra jump, letting you easily get over any gaps, the only fight where it’s bad is hopus pocus
Thanks for sharing, and these are some good points! Thinking back, I probably should've brought up which charms are/aren't in the DLC for those who don't have it
Here’s my ranking: 11: Broken Relic - You might as well not even take a charm. Very strange that you decided to put this over the Cursed Relic imo. 10: Cursed Relic - While having 1 Hp at the start sucks and the weapon switching is annoying, I’d rather come in a plane level with this and having 2 Hp just off of my first parry rather than coming in with the broken relic. Putting the Broken over the Cursed was a strange choice imo. 9. Parry Sugar - I agree with this placement because it’s decent for noobs but as for someone who isn’t a noob, I don’t find this useful since I already know how to parry efficiently and effectively. 8. Heart - Valid placement. Like #9, great for noobs but for players who aren’t noobs why use this and reduce your attack when Heart Ring exists? 7. Twin Heart - also valid but same reason as #8. 6. Whetstone - I can see why Speedrunners like this one I didn’t know you can do certain things like what you were showing with Whetstone (I learned something new) but this is very situational for me imo. Personally, in regular boss fights, I’d always take Smoke Bomb (I can avoid damage and make certain fights easier), Heart Ring (helps me with health and party requirements for S-Ranking), or Ms. Chalice (who is OP and I wanna work on getting the Chalice Filter for beating the game and DLC with her). In plane fights, I’d take Coffee back when the DLC didn’t exist (I’d rather build free super on top of the super I’m earning then parry a boss in the face), The Divine Relic (literally every good charm combined into one including Whetstone), or Ms. Chalice (I already explained). Overall imo: Coffee > Whetstone. The second placement where I disagree with you. 5. Coffee - I’m getting my super faster than usual thanks to me get free Super on top of the Super I’m already earning. If you had Coffee above Whetstone I would be fine with the placement. 4. Divine Relic - Similar to reasoning the Cursed Relic but without the negative side effects of the Cursed Relic. The weapon Switch is annoying on ground boss fights but my god is this broken in plane levels! Get health for parries, my shrink makes me invincible temporally, Whetstone gets me out of some tricky situations and I can use it to exploit certain bosses (thank you for teaching me about that btw), and I get the benefits of coffee!?? SIGN ME UP! 3. Heart Ring - Valid! Very helpful for racking up health, healing yourself, and meeting the requirements for getting an S Rank. 2. Smoke Bomb - VALID! Not counting DLC, this is the go to and the BEST charm to use in the game. First charm I bought and didn’t regret it one bit. Very helpful for getting you out of a pinch on ground boss fights, but man it’s definitely not as great in plane levels which would be my only gripe with it. 1. Astral Cookie/Play as Ms. Chalice - VALID!!!! Ms. Chalice not only makes it easier to parry, she also has a very useful double jump, and a dodge roll that gives you Invincibility-Frames. Also starting with 4 Hp as opposed to 3 Hp definitely is helpful for reaching your HP requirement because you basically get 2 chances to meet said requirement instead of 1. Her Supers are even better than Cuphead and Mugman, All of them are pretty good to use whereas the “Ding Dongs” (Yes I’m referencing the show), their supers is in the order from best to worst: 1 (is better than Chalice’s since her’s is situational), 2 (I only use this Super on Run and Gun Levels, Rumor HoneyBottom, and Chef Saltbaker. It’s not useless, I just would rather have my super deal damage than be invincible for 5 seconds), 3 (EXTREMELY situational, unless you can find a spot to lock on and move the ghost left and right or up and down, this super BLOWS). My only gripe with Chalice is since she counts as a charm rather than her own character, she can’t use other charms (which makes sense otherwise she’d be broken, although it would be cool if I could equip her with Heart Ring, Coffee, even the Divine Relic).
You’re talking about smoke bomb you could equip the divine relic. It gives you like more things and including smoke, but I get it like switching to weapons is quite annoying.
Yeah, that's why I like the charm so much for plane levels cause there are only two weapons to swap between. I can see why many people might use it for regular levels as well, though cause the divine relic still has its upsides
The only charm I used was the smoke dash because as a Brawlhalla player who plays a lot of legends with low defense im use to just dodging so it makes up for more vulnerability so I never used the hearts the only other charm I used other than smoke is the whetstone for a run and gun

as a completionist i choose divine relic at 1st place cuz plane levels are hard and im tring to do S ranking on all of them, but with divine relic u have all the charms and u dont need to worry for the randomized ammo cuz there is only 2 on plane levels
Thanks for sharing!
Divine relic at least goes into number 2. Sure the weapons are random but it’s 4 charms In one.
The thing with getting parries on the heart ring tho is not that hard, you can just you crack shot and use it’s EX move which gives to a free Larry that counts as extra life’s with the charm
did u know that djimmi cheat works with using cursed relic to have 2 hp instead of 1
That does honestly make it a lot easier to unlock the divine relic, but I try to avoid the Djimmi trick as much as I can cause I find it a bit op lol
@@SirPilky yeah me too it's just REALLY hard without i did try to do most of it without but towards the end of the upgrade i did start using it

Just bringing two charms can successfully beat the entire game. P-ranks and plane fights: Divine Relic.
Ground fights: Miss Chalice.
This was a very entertaining video! I love it! And I totally agree with you with almost everything!
Thanks I appreciate it, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Divine relic is a life-saver for plane levels and pacifist Run-n'-Guns.
For sure! I definitely should of brought up P ranks
I subscribed.
I appreciate it!
One thing about Whetstone in plane levels: if you parry and don't hit anything, you simply can't parry for a good second or so. Really annoying if you miss the parry window, and try spamming parry; and it just hits.
This is a really good point that I probably should have brought up 👍
I am endlessly confused by how he thinks divine relic is worse tham two subsections of it. Also weapon randomness is bad
What I did while trying to get the divine relic was I used the dijimi cheat to start boss fights with 2 HP instead of 1 HP
Massive respect for putting whetstone on top 5!
As someone who has S ranked the entire game, this is my ranking
9: Wheatstone
8: Heart
7: Coffee
6: Twin heart
5: P. Sugar
4: Smoke bomb
3: Parry ring
2: Divine relic
1: Astral cookie
Change my mind.
I mean whetstone should at least be above twin heart, but everything else is at least somewhat agreeable.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Phase Survival: Put every phase in the game on a wheel. everyone spins it. You go to the phase you land on (with full HP so eliminate stuff like saltbaker phase 3 or Cala Maria phase 3) And see who lasts the longest in their selected phase. You could get lucky with P1 (you) getting goopy phase 3 while P2 gets esther phase 3 and P3 gets pirouletta. You cannot shoot during this as its up to how long you can survive. Whoever lives the longest wins. (also no using safe spots like in djimmi and brineybeard)
Please do this cuphead challenge with some friends like beaver I think you would have fun
Thanks for the suggestion I don't know if I've heard a challenge idea like this before!
That parry at the start of the video was neat
Thanks!
I also disagree with the 2nd it's so hard to do that that I can't still make it good after months of trying, I'm someone who rather dodges then to endure attacks
Thanks for sharing 👍
I would put parry ring 2nd because I don't utilize smoke dash that much.

Well i started playing cuphead when the DLC came out, so i played as chalice way more that cuphead and mugman.
Yo best video so far keep it up
Thanks I appreciate it!
I think whetstone is good :( edit:thx for hearting, start the whetstone army
No problem thanks for sharing!
The divine relic is my favorite. After playing as Chalice, I try to dash for parry double jump as cuphead or his pal mugman
I would also like to add on to all of the HP buffing charms, its very helpful for the run and guns (though i didnt use them) but particularly for getting P rank
that's true
@@SirPilkyI agree. I’m kinda sad the DLC didn’t add any run and guns

4:19 wait wait wait wait, those are ingots? I thought they were bars of soap!
The wiki said they were ingots, but they do honestly look like bars of soap lol
@@SirPilkyyeah, i thought the "soap" made the wheels slippery and thats my they went foward/backward
My only question: did they eventually patch how S+ ranks are earned? Because I seem to remember you weren't judged based on having 3 or more health, you were judged based on how many times you got hit at all, making the original heart charms less than worthless for S+ ranks.
For the 2 years that I've been playing, it's always been based on how much hp you have at the end of the fight, but I don't know about before that
@@SirPilky I do know there was one very large non-DLC patch a while after launch, which was when I did most of my playtime, so maybe they shifted it then.
@@edfreak9001 Hmmm maybe
I agree with your rankings.

Thanks I appreciate it!
Thanks for all the info and I totally agree!
The names are Hopus Pocus and Pirouletta.
Want to simp more for her? What a slave you are to her
Divine relic deserves number two of the rank

this is the second video i watch, and i love this man. also WHERE ARE YOU!
Thanks, I appreciate it! I'm working on a Minecraft video at the moment, but videos will be returning this summer 👍
Hop off my goat divine relic
I love miss chalice because her double jump paradise and invincibility roll is super duper helpful I'd be a few regular bosses with her And lots of simple bosses No there would just wait to easy So I can consider buying the DLC to get chalice as 1 of your characters but tip you have to equip her as a It's It's pretty unhelpful if you're using like smoke ball But it's helpful if you're But if it's helpful if you're in But it's helpful if you're in sticky things

Ok astral cokie makes sense
I would honestly put the Astro cookie lower. I don’t know it’s just for my style. Chalice is not too well with me.
Thanks for sharing!
I leaned the game with chalice so now when i fight any boss with cuphead or mugman i always try to dash parry
And also dash parrying on king dice is pretty ez
I feel bad for the angel in the Red Devil bossfight, like IDK his lore but why does he have to go back in the relic with the Red Devil
Why dlc made the game easier:
A new character which is op
A new charm that rewards parries
A new charm which is basically another adventure on its own with it's treasure, and it's op
A new shot which is op (crackshot)
Why dlc made the game harder:
*Shef Saltbaker.*
I thought The hardest part is the Cursed Relic challenge
No no no, "fucking cow"
Coffee below Whetstone is criminal
only downside your forgot for chalice is that her plane super does a slight amount of less damage than cuphead and mugman
That's a good point 👍
I bet heart ring is at least in third place 9:10
Dang good prediction!
for my opinion, divine relic must be top 2 because its combine all smoke dash(2#), heart ring (3#) and coffee(7#) so i think it is beter if divine relic is top 2

I remember that when I bought coffee for Phantom express I felt like a pro player but I think that whetstone is better
Thanks for sharing 👍
cool video, but there are some things i disagree with here:
twin heart should be #5 at least, if not higher, while dlc charms like heart ring outclass it, if you play without dlc, it is one of the best charms for every s rank, having it turns s ranks from hitless required to basically a charmless fight with some damage decrease, and even if in some fights it’s better to run smoke dash or whetstone or whatever else, there is no fight where it is not useful for s ranks.
p. sugar is pretty bad, i do agree, but it does trivialize dice timing on king dice
i’d say divine relic is better than heart ring, if heart ring was in pre dlc, i would say it’s better, akin to what i think about twin heart, but post dlc heart ring is simply worse than astral cookie in ground stages, leaving it only really relevant in plane fights, and divine relic is far better there
ms. chalice’s dash parry actually isn’t too bad on king dice himself, his floating heart particles are a lot easier to parry for one reason: when you use cuphead or mugman on king dice, you tend to dash onto the card train if there are 3 cards or even 2 cards at the beginning to the train, but if you do dash, it become very precise to get over any 4 or 5 card gaps, and with a 5 card gap, it’s extremely tough, i think it’s possible though, but chalice removes this issue, since parrying with your dash gives you an extra jump, letting you easily get over any gaps, the only fight where it’s bad is hopus pocus
Thanks for sharing, and these are some good points! Thinking back, I probably should've brought up which charms are/aren't in the DLC for those who don't have it
I believe Coffee should’ve been Number 5 over Whetstone, but other than that, I agree with this list for the most part.
Here’s my ranking:
11: Broken Relic - You might as well not even take a charm.
Thanks for sharing such a detailed list!
@@SirPilky Np, I’m just glad we can share opinions without getting upset over it.
@@Flamemaster78 So true!
I think that divine relic is really good and I would Rank it 2nd best charm

Please make a boss ranking video about how fun the bosses are. Or how easy or hard just please, I beg you
did yall know if you yall play as ms chalice against dice king the pink cards have heart particles you can parry so you dont die
I actually didn't know that the first few times I beat king dice with challice
The only charm I used was the smoke dash because as a Brawlhalla player who plays a lot of legends with low defense im use to just dodging so it makes up for more vulnerability so I never used the hearts the only other charm I used other than smoke is the whetstone for a run and gun
Thanks for sharing! Even though I have challice above smoke bomb, smoke bomb is still the charm I use the most
Pretty good ranking overall, but whetstone over coffee I dunno

If your chalice the parryable card in king dice shoot up pink heart so you can still beat him with chalice
