... all ingredients are listed in the description box. all of the decorating things I simply got from the supermarket in the cooking isle. the red stuff is decorating gel :)
+Tamara JABR ~ If you click on "show more" under the video, it will show a list of all the ingredients and their amounts. The first ingredient is *icing sugar*, which is also called confectioner's sugar, 10X sugar, or powdered sugar, depending on where you live. Happy baking!
+my2cents2u ~ Sorry, sugar was the first ingredient in her list, but I see now that in the video, the first thing is the block of white 'copha'. Copha is shortening (ie Crisco), and you can also use cocoa butter, or even coconut oil.
im so glad you made this!!! i made my own chocolate today. i melted 1 cup coconut oil in a sauce pan then i made 1 cup of coconut butter (blended coconut flakes) and added it to the melted oconut oil. then i added 1/3 cup carob powder, 2/3 cup cocoa powder, 1/3 cup skim milk powder and liquid stevia. its setting now but i tasted it and it was amazing! i think its going to set and harden very nicley
@BriaroseAnimation .. I have made notes about this in the description box. Coconut oil and coconut butter (which are preferred) can be quite expensive. I find making it purely on coconut oil leaves quite a distinctive coconut flavour to the chocolate. I have made it the cheapest way and given the alternatives.
wow i cant belive one person can make all that chocolate so good and you started from one little thing into that wow it looks like you have been trained or it was a gift.
It's called compound chocolate or candy melts. These types of chocolate don't have to be tempered, because they don't contain cocoa butter, but are still chocolate and taste basically the same. The only real difference in flavor is that compound chocolate has a higher melting point, so it doesn't immediately melt in your mouth. I hope that cleared things up ^.^
thank you for sharing this recipe. My daughter tried to make it the other day from her friend's recipe, and it didn't work. she was so upset. Yours looks so much easier, I hope she will succeed this time.. .Thanks!
Awesome video. I just got 10lbs of food grade cocoa butter that I intend to use for homemade lotions. Well, 10 lbs is a lot and needed way to use some of it. This is perfect!
Living in the US, you can get vegetable shortening at any supermarket (like Kroger, Meijer's, Sam's Club, etc.) - Crisco's an extremely popular brand that all of them carry. You want the foil-lined bars or the tub, not the liquified vegetable oil, but the white-colored, thick shortening.
What's With " I hate chocolate" i u hate it, why did u click on the video? Some people are so mean and weird.. And what's with the bad comments and the comments and the real bad comments??? Just stop... This woman is doing nothing wrong and she seems very kind and she is a awesome cooker/ baker!!! Stop with mean comments!!! She is just doing what she enjoys and u can't make fun of her for doing that and don't be mean to her cause she wnjoys what she does... Got a problem with that??? Then don't
.. you still have to use the cocoa powder as that's what gives it the chocolate flavour. I like the add the coffee essence to add a little something extra, but you can leave it out. You have to use pre bought white chocolate and melt it! :)
+Latisa Clewis A chef told me once the professionals use powder milk, the flavour is more intense and it holds better. But if you try it pls let me know how it comes out, thanks.
it was so simple and easy i loved your recipe its so good i want to see all of your recipes and that heart tart it was like heaven your recipes are so good i love you
This video is so informative but does this stay solid at room temperature? And is this like the chocolate we can usually buy at stores?or they added preservative in it already? Please answer ,thanks :)
these look so delicious! I'm actually on atkins so should avoid the icing sugar..would it work just as well? Also not sure if I can have the powdered milk
Thanks so much for this! Important question though, does the chocolate melt on room temperature? Does it have to be cool (less than 10°C or 50°F) to stay solid? Thanks in advance!
A friend of mine likes his choc firmer(not so melty), so he adds a small amount of parafin wax to his and it works great! (its in a lot of store bought chocolate anyway and no,a candle won't work) It should be available in canning section of grocery store.
... oh no! the main thing that helps it set is the copha (vegetable shortening), did you put the right amount of that in? try putting it in the fridge to set too.
HI Karma, I have tried to make this.came out well. One issue I have noticed that this chocolate is not suitable for keeping at rook temperature it seems!. I liked the taste. would like to know what can I add or do to make this chocolate to store at room temperature? Please advise.
So my best option is coconut oil then? Like the white, hard kind? (it is not a liquid oil?) What about lard? Or is there any other alternative (as long as it is soy free?)
... all ingredients are listed in the description box. all of the decorating things I simply got from the supermarket in the cooking isle. the red stuff is decorating gel :)
.. all ingredients and measurements are in the description box under the video :)
An ice cube tray works really well.
+my2cents2u OMG Thankyou!!!
+my2cents2u do you know what was the first ingriedint

Is the powder milk necesary? If it is, what can i use instead? Its the coconut oil necesary if we already used the copha? Thanks
Me too same question we can use nilk instead?
.. all ingredients are listed in the description box
No you can't we butter copha is vegetable shortining in the u.s you can use crisco they are the same thing. Hope comment helps people
Thank you!

What could you swap powers milk for? I can't have dairy ;)
dried coconut milk works well
For those in the UK the only thing similar to Copha is this from Ocado online supermarket:
Crisco Vegetable Shortening (453g)
Ocado £3.50
she looks a bit like tish simmonds
wow i cant belive one person can make all that chocolate so good and you started from one little thing into that wow it looks like you have been trained or it was a gift.
I bet buying chocolates from the grocery store is cheaper than buying the ingredients to make your own
Yep. But if you bought chocolate of comparable quality, then no, this is evenly-matched with chocolate you can buy of comparable quality.
yah but it would be just so plain and boring and meaningless in a way
making them means u wanted 2 try 2 make he or she happy
but when you buy the ingredients, you can make a lot more chocolate than buying them a lot..
when you buy from the stor you have to add the cost of the box
not if your a baker and buy the ingredents for other recipes. most of these things are what i use to make every day meals for my husband and my son
that was one of the most efficient and easy to watch cooking videos i have ever seen...
Thanks for the great recipe
this isn't chocolate it hasn't got cocoa butter in it
Amelia Cochrane copha is just like cocoa butter but a little sweeter

I swear every chocolate diy vid I see a comment that says this
@@bunnyreads8847 Chocolate and compound chocolate taste basically the same? You have never tried good quality chocolate, obviously.
.. it's also called vegetable shortening, you can use cocoa butter which is far better, but a bit more expensive :)
you're beautiful
thank you for sharing this recipe. My daughter tried to make it the other day from her friend's recipe, and it didn't work. she was so upset. Yours looks so much easier, I hope she will succeed this time.. .Thanks!
Dislike
Awesome video. I just got 10lbs of food grade cocoa butter that I intend to use for homemade lotions. Well, 10 lbs is a lot and needed way to use some of it. This is perfect!
Oh thank you for this! I've always wanted to make chocolates from scratch for my friends for Valentine's day, and now I finally can ^^
Living in the US, you can get vegetable shortening at any supermarket (like Kroger, Meijer's, Sam's Club, etc.) - Crisco's an extremely popular brand that all of them carry. You want the foil-lined bars or the tub, not the liquified vegetable oil, but the white-colored, thick shortening.
.. you probably could, but I don't think it would have the same consistency. I always like to use super fine or caster sugar :)
all of your cookings is very smart and helpful really

It looks so quick and easy Karma. What exactly did you use to make
the red topping on the hearts? It looks like jam. Thanks
.. you can leave it out if you like, from memory I think I had an annotation in the video about it
I made this using your recipe and it came out GREAT! I'm just wondering if liquid milk can be used instead of powdered milk??
+Latisa Clewis A chef told me once the professionals use powder milk, the flavour is more intense and it holds better. But if you try it pls let me know how it comes out, thanks.
This Christmas I will be making home made chocolates! Question: Would tempering the chocolate help prevent it from melting at room temperature?
I got the tray from Spotlight .. it was about $15. I don't think it comes out overly sweet .. and I have a sweet tooth! It comes out just right! :)
it was so simple and easy i loved your recipe its so good i want to see all of your recipes and that heart tart it was like heaven your recipes are so good i love you

This video is so informative but does this stay solid at room temperature? And is this like the chocolate we can usually buy at stores?or they added preservative in it already? Please answer ,thanks :)

these look so delicious! I'm actually on atkins so should avoid the icing sugar..would it work just as well? Also not sure if I can have the powdered milk
.. it's also called vegetable shortening :)
Thanks so much for this!
Important question though, does the chocolate melt on room temperature?
Does it have to be cool (less than 10°C or 50°F) to stay solid?
Thanks in advance!

How did I miss this one? Looks easy!
... oh no! the main thing that helps it set is the copha (vegetable shortening), did you put the right amount of that in? try putting it in the fridge to set too.
Cohpa is Crisco in the Usa, so you can go to the nearest store like Wal-Mart to get it
... she's amazing!!
I'm gonna add coconut flake covered in chocolate, it taste SO goooood!!
i think i'm gonna use this for valentines day and put it on strawberries, hope it works!
@cookingwithkarma is there no end to your amazing talent !?!?!?
.. I had some still left last month! As long as you keep it in the fridge in an air tight container, you should get a month or two out of it :)
Thank you! I will be trying this!
in your videos u give sooooo much felling its awesome...BTW love your accent
.. awesome! I hope you both enjoy them :)
This presentation was excellent.

Yum - so delicious ...and so's the chocky !!
OMG This looks amazing. I've always wanted to make chocolate and thought it would be so difficult. Your video has just put that huge barrier down! :D
.. you can .. salt is supposed to bring out the flavour in most things it's added to :)
HI Karma,
I have tried to make this.came out well. One issue I have noticed that this chocolate is not suitable for keeping at rook temperature it seems!. I liked the taste. would like to know what can I add or do to make this chocolate to store at room temperature? Please advise.
Temper your chocolate.... I cant believe she didn't even mention the tempering process.
DMrFrost
What do you mean by temper the chocolate?
In Toluca, Mexico, I get the copha as coconut butter maybe u can get it by that name, 1lb for about 3dollar its not a high cost
Great tutorial! I never thought about making chocolat myself, but this looks fun and easy! :D
this was very helpful, I am going 2 make home made chocolates 4 my bf 4 r first valentines.
I like you and your chocolate recipe.many many thanks.
.. awwh thanks so much, I hope you enjoy my other videos too :)
So my best option is coconut oil then? Like the white, hard kind? (it is not a liquid oil?) What about lard? Or is there any other alternative (as long as it is soy free?)
.. if it's thick that's fine, it will set well. different cocoa powders can have different depth of colour too .. it should be all good! ;)
Hi Karma, Great Video. How long will the chocolate last without getting spoiled if its in room temperature?
What did u melt in starting can we use milk as substitute for milk powder
Hi! If I want to replace the icing sugar with splenda sugar free, what should be the quantity? thanks!
Where did u get those boles from??? Their SOOO cute😍
hmmm seems yummy gonna make it today

hi can i substitute the vegetable shortening with margarine? or maybe an additional with little butter? thanks
Brilliant! Just...... brilliant!
I'm in love!
I tried it and loved it
.. not if you don't want to, I like the flavour it adds :)
... I haven't made it with regular milk, I believe it would be too runny if you did
Where did you get the white chocolate? Did you make some or did you buy it at a store?
all thanks to you dear karma to your wonderful video == best of luck = gbu=
