Ray’s back! Thanks for the vid. I’ve only done one repair on NAD (3020) and it was a hot mess. The conductor side of the boards were literally peeling off. The solder pads were flapping in the wind. All the caps were measured and most were garbage. Loose connections everywhere. Thankfully it’s still in service after two years with no failures. Personally I didn’t think it was worth repairing but the owner insisted I try. See ya at AK
Hiya Mike! NAD's are actually nice sounding units, but sadly the problems you describe are typical. Sounds like you did a good job! They don't command very high prices, so with a little work you can wind up with a nice sounding unit. This is the first one that's given me this much trouble. Fortunately I got it cheap, since it looks like I'm keeping it.
Wow! I mean, wow. I know your sentiments well about this and other NAD models. It’s a shame how the price for these have no reliability and the company seems to deny so many problems instead or solving them.
I guess everyone puts out a dud once in a while. I had some horrible Chevrolets in the 80's, but my 1998 Chevy pickup is still running strong! Overall NAD puts out some nice sounding stuff at a reasonable price point.

Richey caps.........lol, I repaired a Parasound HCA-2200 that was full of em......& yeah, many were bad.
Many good lessons and a bunch of gotchas on the NADs. Good stuff, thank you!

Run a small fan on top of mine. Never had a problem. I think the main issue is people allowing these amps to overheat.
