In the 10ish days since filming, I've already solved on this smart cube significantly more than on all my other smart cubes combined. I really do enjoy the experience with the new Gan app.
Unfortunately, the off-brand battery included with the cube died after only a couple of days. I've replaced it with a name-brand battery (I suggest you do the same), and it's still going strong with 100% capacity after another week of use.
Which battery did you use?
@@jpw7694 maybe Duracell or some everready, I prefer the everready tho
I opted for a single $7 Energizer battery from a local store, rather than risking it with a $5 generic pack of 12 off Amazon. Duracell would be good too.

Biggest problem I've had with the new app is that it won't connect on LTE when I'm away from home, seems to only work on wifi. Wish there was an offline mode where it would just store the solves locally until it's able to connect again. Also, I kind of miss the bots on the old app's multiplayer, they made it feel more like matchmaking with "people" near your times instead of opening a room and getting a bunch of people better than you which is pretty demotivating. The new multiplayer kind of just throws all skill levels together, you have no idea who's going to join the room, which is just going to make newer people not want to use it if they never get any matchups of their same skill. Other than that, the app's great for tracking solves and training - would love an export feature though, to be able to import into cstimer or whatever else.

Can you use this smart cube as a regular cube
NOOOO! It automatically explodes if he senses you’re using it without Bluetooth. For real though obviously you can EXCEPT, Bluetooth cubes are not WCA legal so you can’t use it in competitions.
